Owner description: A small, posh shop selling fine chocolates.

Visited the shop in St. Germain which is not so busy as La Dureé or Pierre Hermé where most tourists go to. Nothing about the macarons of the latter to, but Richart deserves to be mentioned here! Very tasty macarons. Will come back next time in Paris.

We finally stopped by Richart to sample some of their colourful and appetising macarons. We chose twelve of their fifteen flavours. They without a doubt trump well known french macaron brands.
They are not sickly sweet like many macarons. Perhaps because the maison Richart uses the italian baking method of using syrup in lieu of ice sugar. It makes for a lighter confection.
They have interesting flavours; our favourites being pistachio, roasted hazelnut, grapefruit and rose, blackcurrant, abricot and almond.
They're reasonably priced at €1.60 a pop. I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Lovely to look at, delicious to eat.
Just wish I had bought more as these made excellent gifts.
A small box of assorted at €12 that are beautifully packaged and made everyone excited to receive them.

The shop offers a nice selection of chocolates in interesting flavours and sleek packaging. They also print messages on the chocolates for a personal touch. Very close to the D'Orsay museum so it's a perfect stop for gifts after a museum visit.

As a life long chocoholic and lecturer at chocolate awareness educational seminars and chocolate tasting sessions around the world, I have had the privilege of sampling a broad spectrum of product from leading manufacturers and chocolatiers. None, however, approaches the artistry, elegance, complexity, originality and sheer perfection of taste as do the chocolates created by Michel Richart. Each of his offerings presents a different sensation to the palette ... spicy, sweet, bitter, pungent, subtle, et al. I especially recommend Richart's Salted Butter Caramel Coulis. It's an over-the-top chocolate experience that lingers and lasts on the palette and in the mind.
