Prices were very reasonable for Paris. There were 6 of us, and we all enjoyed our meals. Concierge at Marriott Rive Gauche recommended the restaurant. It was a rainy Friday night on holiday weekend and the place was packed. Despite this, service was very attentive.

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of the concierge at the Marriott Rive Gauche. It was popular and busy but we got a table and were served promptly. The salad plat was a huge serving with a lot of lettuce which is fine if you like that kind of salad. Just so so. I did see the large tartines which looked very good and it seemed to be popular with locals.

L'Alouette is a nice modern French brasserie which serves simple and honest French food for reasonable prices. The wine they serve is really excellent, my personal favourites are the Cahors and the organic Bordeaux. Also try for dessert one of the delicious "tartes" and "clafoutis" on display. It is nicely crowded in the evenings and it is one of the rare places in Paris where a woman alone can have dinner withoug feeling uncomfortable. Unlike the other reviewers I have never had any problem with the service: the "garçons" are efficient and courteous.

Close to Marriott Rive Gauche, 5 minutes walking distance. Not a fancy place but clean, typical everyday restaurant.

Appetizer - Salmon is very good. Covered in cheese and baked on a large piece of bread. Yummy. Main dishes are so so. Portion is large though.

Understaffed. 2 waiters and a bar tender tried to cover 15 tables. Our waiter is friendly, helpful but too busy to be attentive.

Unfortunately this is our worst culinary experience. We heard that their service is not really good but we never imagine that so bad.
We had to wait very long to have our dishes which were very dirty and oily around. The waiter was very impolite when we gave him this notice. Avoid this restaurant !
