Paris Hotel le Mediteraneen
Ranked #100 of 135 Paris B&B and Inns
Reviewed 9 May 2013

We were a large High School Sports team travelling from New Zealand. 26 people, 18 students and 8 adults, staying for two nights in Paris.
We worked hard with Hostel Bookers and this Hotel to accomodate our group.
Pros: Good location, close to train station and still within walking distance of some Paris sights, small supermarket around the corner and plenty of reasonably priced restaurants. Breakfast was provided for our group at the hotel and this was good. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Size of the rooms, disappointed that when we booked a triple room with three single beds for our students, we were not told it was a very small single to double room, and it had a stretcher bed added. Rooms were very tight and they squeezed us into very small rooms, some of the students were 5 and 6 students in a small double room on stretcher beds. Given the option we would have paid for another room. Also advised bathroom in room, as you would expect, but it was a small shower and basin, the toilet was outside the room in the communal hallway to share with other guests. No lift and tight stairwell, which is also understandable for Paris.
Understand space is at premium in Paris and we were happy with the price and location, just wanted to be advised that a triple room is not really a triple room. Also one room we booked as a double room, for a married couple in our group, was a very small single room, with a single bed and a stretcher bed in the corner, and the stretcher bed collapsed in the night. Not ideal for a couple.
Also we had a couple of things go missing from the rooms within our group, very small minor things, like food, bars of chocolate.

The location of this hotel was excellent - but for the amount spent I had imagined that the room selected was larger and 4 floors to do were rather tough for a whole family. Luckily I had no luggage to carry with me...don't dare to imagine if I had.

The hotel is what you pay for, those who are complaining need to understand you couldn't pay a similar amount and get a hotel any better than this in the city center. The rooms themselves are small but have what you need it is a basic set up. In terms of location it was fantastic we chose this hotel as it was close to the Bercy as we were going to see Swedish House Mafia there, if you are going to an event in the Bercy I would recommend this hotel as it is in easy walking distance. It is also very close to the Gare De Lyon which is a well connected station allowing you to get to the city center of Paris in minutes. The staff were so friendly and accommodating they want you to enjoy your stay so make an effort. Don't have an unrealistic expectation we booked through hostelbookers and paid around 34 euros each for the night and for that price you can't expect the world but you will get value from what you have paid for.

Good location but we were given the last room
On the top floor, up 6 flights of very narrow tiled steps. The room size was fine but certainly below the average 14 sq advertised, no mini bar and only one socket . Tha main problem was the bathroom which was so tiny my husband couldn't stand up in it! The drain smell was dreadful and when we combined we see given a spray. There was another too
Available but as we were three we were offered this at an extra cost.
Very disappointing even for Paris- not up to even the basic standard we as used to
.

The rooms were not good and there was only bathromm however there were not a toilet into it. Toilet was shared although we did not choosed shared bathroom. However hotel personnel was helpfull and the hotel was really close to centre. It took 15 minutes by walk to reach to Notre Dame. Its location was really good and you may try if you do not care so much the toilet issue and if you wish not to pay so much.
