This clearly look very like the Arc du Triomphe, it's bigger 'brother' from the other end of the Champs Elyse. It is however a beautiful arch in its own right. The lovely horses at the top are (I think) replicas of the horses in Saint Mark's square, Venice. This is a lovely place to grab a coffee and enjoy the beauty of the Louvre.

This is a smaller version of the Arc de Triomphe, situated at the entrance to the Musee du Louvre. There wasn't much by way of information about it, I found out later it was related to Napoleon's victories.

There are several gardens and shady spots nearby, making it a popular spot with locals. As always, avoid like the plague the cheap souvenir hawkers prowling the area.

What a sight! Smaller than the Arc de Triomphe but just as beautiful. This magnificent monument sits at the entrance to the Louvre and is the beginning of the Jardins des Tuileries.

Smallerish monument celebrating the Napoleonic Wars. If you go to the Lourve, you can easily visit this.

At the exit from the Louvre and looking toward the Jardins des Tuileries, is located this imposant monument, dedicated to the military's victories, that Napoleon and his Grande Armee fought out in the previous years to the 1806 and 1808 when this gorgeous arc of victory and peace was erected. The arch consists of the two smaller vaults at the flancs of the construction and in the center there is a grand and main arch. On the top of the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is the very nice Peace riding in a triumphal chariot. Around the Arc there are some Corinthian columns of the marble topped by the soldiers of the Empire. There is also the pediment between the soldiers with the basreliefs that say the story about the Arms of the Kingdom of Italy, the Arms of the French Empire.
You can go to the top of the monument, from where You will be able to overview the greater part of Paris. Really spectacular sight of Paris.
