We stayed 5 nights in this Relais location. We loved the privacy and quiet of the hotel. The front desk staff were kind and helpful until there was a miscommunication regarding a need to change our room. One fellow, who didn't have his information straight, was surprisingly discourteous. The rest of staff made up for his lack professionalism. Breakfast was spendy (as expected in any Parisian hotel) and a bit lack luster. Our rooms (we experienced 2 w/our need to move) were very nice. It is not a modern hotel, so the furnishings/decor are traditional and nice. The bathrooms are spacious. Housekeeping does a good job. We love to walk and this location made for an easy stroll to many of the sites and restaurants. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next Parisian visit.

Room Tip: Spend a little more for the larger rooms.

Dear Yvonne,

First of all, please accept our apologies about the unpleasantness that occured at the moment you were changing rooms. When room moves have been confirmed upon reservation and are still necessary when you arrive, we try to make these situations very simple for you in order to spare your time. I am sorry that one of the staff member did not assist you as you expected but I am glad this did affect neither your stay nor your good impression of Relais Christine.

Thank you for your compliment on housekeeping. As regards your comment on the rooms' decor, our property is a traditional one for sure. However, you will probably love to hear that we renovate 5 rooms every year and that we do have more contemporary decors. I hope you will enjoy one of these rooms on your nexy stay!

We look forward to welcoming back.

A one night stay with friends midweek in October.
Down a narrow back street in Saint Germain, near the river bank, the courtyard was welcoming and immediately peaceful from the hubbub of Paris.
Close and attentive service from every staff member we encountered. The Junior suite was a little warm and the aircon noisy, but it was comfortable and spacious (for a left bank boutique hotel). I do always wonder about room designers who feel that a 40 watt bulb is enough and then paint the walls in dark colours, but maybe that's me getting old. Also the bathroom is yet another triumph of form over function. But downstairs the Honesty Bar and Breakfast room are lovely and inviting. I realised that I had not brough a tie for a formal dinner and this was soved by a very sharp front desk guy who unwrapped a complimentary (and very classy) tie they had been sent by Galleries Lafyette. I'm trying to find any excuse to go back.

Cannot say enough good things starting with location, right in the heart of St. Germaine and easy walk to the Seine and Ile de St Louis. We had a funky room with an upstairs sleeping room which we liked but would not be good for people with bum legs. Concierges were outstanding, three for three in restaurant suggestions. Also, very cordial. Breakfast the morning of our arrival, included in our rate the rest of our stay, was pricey.

Dear guests,

We thank you for paying us your first visit.
We are delighted to learn that our property's location and concierge team were key assets to your experience of the Parisian left-bank.
The Relais Christine proposes a whole variety of rooms and junior suites on one or two levels. We hope your next visit in the city of lights will be the occasion for you to discover a totally different accommodation too.

We hope to see you very soon!

My husband and I have stayed at the Relais Christine three times now and I will start off by saying that the staff remains wonderful and helpful as always. This time, however, we noticed that the hotel needs a bit of brightness to it, a lift maybe. The breakfast room is like a dungeon. I would never want to go down there alone at night! Ha Ha, and our room, which was called a Jr. suite was really dark and gloomy. I would suggest they move breakfast up to their wine/relaxation room which is right off the registration. I would be so much more cheery. The rooms could use a going over, brighter bed covers, and better light. I still love this place and the location is fabulous, but it needs ....something.

Dear guests,

First of all, we thank you for your faithfulness. Returning to visit us is the best compliment you can make us.
We also thank you for a constructive comment on our property. Let us mention that we renovate 5 of our 49 rooms every year in order to satisfy properly our guests' desire of luxury and comfort. Concerning our vaulted breakfast room, its location in the remainings of the old Abbaye des Grands Augustins is our way to honour the history of our property located itself in one of the oldest parts of Paris.
Do not hesitate to contact us directly to organize your next stay in order for us to make you a proposition perfectly suited to your expectations.

We wish you all the best until your next visit.

An excellent hotel with superb service. Lovely view from our bedroom of the garden. Room cleaned perfectly every day. Front desk provided lots of help. Did not enjoy Chez Ferdnand so much as food was just ok and there were too many americans. Liked the Chicken Rotisserie better for food and ambiance. Had lots of good advice from the Front desk about how to find things near the hotel. Great location to walk from in any direction. Had great tea served in the lovely sitting room. Are still enjoying the chocolate cookies from the room. Our rules only permit us to eat one every other day. Bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Dear guests,

What a pleasure to read that every single attention paid by our team to your well-being has been noticed. Our rooms over-looking the inner courtyard garden are most valued as you can imagine (although rooms on the courtyard and street-side also have a unique style) and we are happy to hear this was to your taste.
We believe that despite your rule on the chocolate cookies from the hotel, the box is now empty! The one ready to welcome you in your room next time will surely remind you of your Parisian life!

We look forward to welcoming you soon

After seeing it last visit, we tried Relais Christine this visit. It was expensive but the location, facilities, excellent service and luxurious environment largely justify it.
We were looked after by competent staff that provided a welcoming and clean and tidy environment in the rooms and hotel generally.
The breakfast was the best that we had without chef prepared hot breakfast.
The beds were large and comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and well appointed for Paris.
The gym was well set up - except for no rowing machine - but it was too humid and hot even when the air conditioning had been on for some time.
Availability of bicycles was a big plus for those with the temerity to us them.

We booked this hotel through small luxury hotels of the world as we have been members for a while and am usually impressed with the service we get from their hotels. This time it was a little different. The hotel is in a great spot, close to everything in a great neighborhood. On arrival we did ask about the upgrade that can come with being a member of the SLH group but we were told that the hotel was totally full and not possible. The room was typically small for France but also dark (am sure they will say it adds to the "ambiance" but we felt it covered up the the scratches and worn look of the room.) I also note that the amenities that were promised on our booking sheet were not there. This is where it all started to go wrong.I asked at reception about it and was told that it was not so, indeed he could find no record of it anywhere on our booking.com sheet. I reminded him that we had booked through SLH but he kept saying booking .com. When we came back to the room, the same young man made a point of saying he had searched everywhere and could find no record of L'Occitane amenities for our booking. He implied that I was lying so I was forced to get my laptop and come down to reception and prove it. Highly unprofessional. He then apologized in quite a haughty manner and said he would rectify it the next day. Understandably I was a little upset with his attitude and we were not feeling particularly welcome in the hotel so I sent an email to SLH outlining my problems. Magically the next day on return to the hotel after a day out, we were offered a lovely room upgrade (though the day before they had nothing available for our stay ) and the promised amenities from L'Occitane were provided. If you check your official website ( not tourist photos) you will see on slide 8 of your gallery pictures that the amenities provided in the room there are in fact L'Occitane, the Verbena range I believe! Maybe you need to update your site and not accuse the guest of making things up.The superior room was a huge improvement on the first room and actually was one that I would stay in again gladly. breakfast was nice, the usual buffet assortments and the woman who made our coffee was wonderful,a lovely smile and welcome each morning and she organized our coffee just as we liked it. I wish I could remember her name as she went out of her way to please us. Overall I am torn on whether to recommend this hotel or not, we didn't feel that the front desk staff treated us very well and that one shouldn't have to prove that they are not lying in order to get what we had booked. That said however the room we did end up in was lovely and the location great, hopefully our experience is just a one off abboration.

Room Tip: superior are much better than standard.

Dear guests,

Thank you for your review which received my very best attention.

I certainly understand your frustration if you believed that your SLH membership would allow you to have an automatic upgrade.
We are very happy to meet with all our guests' requests when it is possible and certainly always make sure that amenities and benefits are secured at the moment of the reservation. Your “Loved Membership” unfortunately did not entitle you to an automatic upgrade but only upon availability. I am sorry if on the day of your arrival upgrading you was not possible but very pleased that on the next day we could meet your request.

Kindly accept my apologies for not amending information about our cosmetic brand. We decided to change for “Argan” by “Côté Bastide” in order to provide organic cosmetic. I am sorry if you did not like it.

I would really like to make your mind change about the Relais Christine and I invite you to contact us directly for your future stay in Paris. Your well-being will be our whole team's concern!

We all hope to see you soon.
