“Clean and elegant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2013

This hotel has been recently refurbished and so the rooms are very fresh and clean and elegant. Service is simple and friendly. We took breakfast in our room and the attention to detail was very good- beautiful crockery and excellent quality jams.
This hotel isn't expensive by Paris standards and the location is perfect. It doesn't feel like a luxury hotel in the lobby - there is no bar- but the rooms are large for Paris.

We were very pleased with almost all aspects of the hotel. The room was lovely & clean with a window that opened overlooking the inner courtyard & rooftops. The bed was very comfortable & huge. The bathroom did have a bath which was nice but the shower overhead had a mind of its own & went crazy soaking everything including my clothes. We did not like the glass door dividing bed from bathroom, some guests may prefer this. The staff were extremely helpful with any requests. The location was in a quiet area within very easy walking distance of the metro, river, bistros & galleries. Make sure you buy tickets prior to visiting museums, tower ect, to prevent waiting in very long lines wasting precious time enjoying Paris.

The hotel have a great location - just a walkin (or better, a biking) distance from main turists spots!
The room wasn't beig, but I did not visited Paris to stay in a room:) Bed was perfect, bathroom spacy and very clean. I liked the design, friendly staff and the wi-fi that worked very good.
Half (or more) windows of this hotel are facing the inner yard, but when it's hot it might be loud - when window is open you can hear otherguests very well.
I did not order the breakfast (15euro) as I like to have a seat outside if the weather is good (and there are nice, little cafes just round the corner), but as far as I observed the breakfast was OK.
I will come back again for sure!!!

The rue de l'Universite winds through left bank Paris, narrow and fairly quiet. This is a much finer hotel than most in its category. We have stayed here three times over several years. The neighborhood includes the Place Furstenburg, a quintessential Parisian cul de sac.

Stayed 6 nights in May. Room was comfortable with double bed for single use. It has free wifi in room and hotel's public area, which is a bonus. There is flat screen tv with foreign channels and a small fridge. My main complaint is the absence of a bath. Many hotels now have showers only. It is sometimes nice to relax in a bath after a long day trudging through the Paris streets and museums.

The hotel is located within east reach of the Ille de la Cite and Louvre, Musee d'Orsay etc. but there are not many restaurants in the area apart from a few small bars.

For a 3-star hotel, I found it quite expensive with limited facilities. Breakfast is exceptionally expensive for some bread, a croissant, small juice and beverage, the charge of euros 15. Is too high (when I stay in London at a 3-star central hotel, I get a room with an English cooked breakfast for half the price of this PAris establishment, but I Guess it is because Paris is such an expensive place to visit. All museums are expensive to enter - Pity they cannot follow London's example and offer free entry to national collections?

Tip. Go to the nearby Monoprix (small supermarket) and buy pain etc and bring a kettle, coffee and tea for your room, as I did. Sorry hotel, but your simple breakfasts are a crazy price.
