chose this hotel for it's location and we stayed only one night but had 2 days.

Very cute hotel and cute neighborhood. We chose this area because quiet area with lots of food and shops with Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle just short walk away. Boats for ride on seine about 10 minute walk . Was just lovely.

Hotel room was the smallest of our trip.We had a room on an upper floor and had a refrigerator. Bathroom was a good size.

Second trip to Paris and I loved staying at this charming little historic hotel (affordably priced under 200 euro!)... centrally located on the street which runs through the center of the island in the middle of Paris! The gentlemen at the front desk were fun to talk with and I enjoyed their dry sense of humor. Le petit dejeuner is offered at the hotel down the winding stone staircase in the basement and is also a great value at 13 euro...especially after seeing the prices at other restaurants. There is not a full service restaurant in the hotel...but the St. Regis and many other cafes, bars, and plenty of various dining experiences are only a short walk away and of course there are so many fabulous restaurants and cafes still within walking distance when you cross the river on either side. This street is full of cute boutiques, galleries, la Poste (super convenient to mail your packages of souvenirs...mine actually beat me back to the US...they offer three sizes of set rate boxes) , and several Berthillon ice cream opportunities (rhubarb was yummy). Le Marche...fresh fruit & veggies with the amenities of a convenience market...is merely a few steps away so I could easily pick up bottled water or juices for my walking adventures. Rooms have a refrigerated wet bar and a safe inside a fairly nice sized mirrored closet. The combination of warm stone, rustic beams, pretty sconces, and the upscale monochromatic color palette was magazine perfect in my room even if it was a bit on the small side...but that's Paris! Learning to pack lighter each time! Built in blow dryer by the bathroom mirror can lighten your suitcase knowing it's there. The shower was very spacious and had plenty of hot water and great pressure. As a gal...my only suggestion would be that face cloths would be provided to guests...so glad I travel with one to wash makeup off...and it also might be time to upgrade the towels, sheets, and mattress covers. Bed spread/coverlet and curtains...very nice (room is quiet and dark with curtains closed and easy to sleep in! Beautiful and full of light when open) so please don't let that discourage you from staying at this darling hotel...I will definitely be back soon! Traveled with friends a couple of days then stayed on my own...felt very safe and comfortable here. I have wonderful pictures...hope to post later...

Room Tip: Third floor, side street windows...quiet and quaint!

We have visited Paris several times before, but the location of this hotel cannot be bettered. In a superb part of Paris, within easy walking distance of so many of iconic sights of Paris. The Isle St Louis provides a perfect setting for a holiday, with helpful staff. The facility of being collected and returned from the Eurostar terminal greatly facilitated our stay.

The high point of our stay was a concert at Saint Chapelle, easily walkable from the hotel. Many places to eat in the vicinity. Superior room gave us a larger bed, and a comfortable sleep.

Room Tip: Superior rooms have larger beds.

How can you go wrong being situated on the main thoroughfare of Isle St. Louis within steps of so much that is great about Paris? The hotel itself is small and comfortable. Rooms are adequate in size, but don't bring large bags with you! Street noise is a factor, but does calm down after 11 pm. It was unseasonably warm for early May which meant the windows had to be open. Breakfast in the breakfast room in the lower level is a typical French assortment, unremarkable, but at 13 Euros, not bad value for Paris. Only complaint would be a slightly eccentric manager who while charming in his own way, told me on three separate occasions my room would be ready "soon" and 5 hours later my patience had worn thin as the jet lag took over. Just come out and say it will be several hours rather than incrementally disappointing me.

Historic building, sweet room, quite small by American standards but well equipped. Nicely done bathroom with tile and stone, modern fixtures. Water temp just fine for us. Location: foodie heaven, close to Notre Dame, very enjoyable stay!

I looked long and hard for a small hotel in Paris that was under 200 euro. Voila. We loved this hotel. We got there about 11:30 am and the concierge Bernard said he could take us upstairs in about 20 minutes if we waited. It was worth the wait. We had asked for a twin upgrade as we were unsure if "double" meant a double bed, which would be too small. We had also heard that rooms in Paris were incredibly small. We had room 401which had a small balcony. The bathroom was small but had a great shower. They seem to assign rooms as people arrive, so not sure if you can request a room in advance. There was street noise, but ear plugs worked well against it.

Breakfast is downstairs in a cellar-like arched room. We didn't try it until the last day or so, but it was fine. It was 13 euro, which might seem expensive but it offers all the fresh bread and coffee you would like. We went to several cafes for breakfast locally, and each offered one croissant and one cup of coffee.

The two men staffing the front desk Bernard and Denis were extremely helpful. We mainly saw Bernard and loved his Gallic sense of humor. You turn in your key each time you come back to the hotel, so you do get a personal greeting each time.

The other fantastic thing about this hotel is the LOCATION. Walking distance to Notre Dame, Saint-Chapelle and most of the other main tourist sights. Every night we walked home along the Seine.

We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and it's location. Unfortunately, we did not have hot water during our 4 night stay starting 4/21/14. We were told a number of different stories by the front desk ranging from "let it run for a while" (we did - ice cold after 20 minutes) to "the guy fixed it today". However on our 3rd evening, 6 guests from 3 different rooms all happened to converge simultaneously and coincidentally at the front desk to inform them that none of us had hot water in our rooms. The gentleman at the desk was apologetic but said there was nothing he could do and he would email his boss. The next morning the front desk once again took the "let it run" defense and denied there was a problem. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with our stay and cannot recommend this hotel (that is to anyone who prefers hot running water).

Dear Guest. I am currently in the US and my staff didn't tell me about the problem you faced. I truly apologize for what happend and I am waiting for the explanations of the staff involved in the bad management of your problem The hot water installation is more complex in a hotel than in a single home but we have a full time plumber for our four hotels and any problem should have been solved quickly. I think they had to order a part. Feel free to ask a refund of 50% of your stay by email. I just want to let the Tripadvisor readers that this problem has been solved and that they should trust 99% of the comments of our guests. Philippe - owner
