My wife and I had a lovely time Chez Cederic. He is very hospitable, has an excellent knowledge of good food in the area, and can even tell you which region of France the menu is from! Breakfast is croissants, bread and some nice organic and unique spreads, a good selection of coffee and teas, and fresh juices. The bed is super comfy. Had no problem with noise, we returned post 11pm and heard nothing outside. We love to cycle, and there Is a Paris City bike stand right outside. Just like london Boris bikes. If you want a B&B for that 'home' feel, look no further.

We stayed at this B&B for 2 nights for a weekend in Paris.

It was a great, authentic experience. In a lively neighbourhood, I did occasionally feel on guard on the surrounding streets, but over all the neighbourhood came across as lively and interesting. It was great too not be surrounded by tourists and the get a genuine Paris experience.

The room was lovely and comfortable. There was some noise from the street, it we were so tired each night that it didn't effect our sleep at all. Breakfast was great with fresh pastries and a choice of fresh teas & coffees.

The only thing I would change is that the toilet is not in the room. It's placement at the opposite end of the apartment, next to the kitchen made it feel a little awkward to use the loo at times.

Would recommend though.

Cedric was great, very welcoming and he spent the time to help me with a little french and give us some pointers as to what to see and the best way to get to places. I liked the music he played. The room was very nice and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and breakfast was tastey although I did sometimes miss it because I slept in toooo late. It was quite hot but there was a heat wave and the street was often noisy til late at night with jazz concerts but it was interesting to watch and listen. We enjoyed our stay here!

I recently stayed at this B&B with my partner and thought it was great. The room we stayed in was spotless and very comfortable. The only downside was that the toilet was not en suite despite having a shower and sink in the bedroom.

The area was very lively and there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and patisseries on the door step.

Cedric, the host, was very friendly and personable and gave us some great tips on where to go and how to get their whilst on our stay.

It was great to wake up to fresh croissants and pain au chocolat every morning with freshly brewed tea and coffee.

Whilst the area can be quite loud, therefore not to everyone's taste, if you are looking for a vibrant, central location that is comfortable and affordable, then this is definitely the place to stay.

We've been to Paris as tourists on a number of occastions and were looking for something a little different. We found this place via a search for vegetarian places to stay. Cedric and Garlonne are very veggie friendly so it was a joy to stay with them. The appartment was very clean and the rooms quite large. You entered the apartment building via a key pad on the wall in the street which was quite a thrill. We really felt like locals.
We stayed in the room that was en-suite and found it very clean, modern and extremely comfortable. We had a working lock on the door. There was plenty of hot water in the shower.
Breakfast was fresh bread with a good selection of healthy spreads (not the usual fruit flavoured suger spreads on offer in hotels) and the coffee was delicious. Although, green tea was available. We also stayed in and had a cooked meal with Cedric and Garlonne which was one of the nicest meals we had all week. We found Cedric and Garlonne to be lovely hosts.
The less-than-great aspect of the B&B would be the location. It's in a local's area rather than a tourist area which although only a short walk away from most of the attractions, did get a bit rowdy at night. And as foreigners, we did feel a little conspicuous at times. As for the noise from outside, we found only one night was really lively and the double glassed windows cut out 90% of the noise. It didn't cause any problems.
We would certainly consider staying here again.

My fiancee and I stayed at the Chambres de la Grande Porte recently on our first ever visit to Paris. I have several things to say about our stay. Positives - the B&B was very clean, and we found Cedric to be very amiable. It was nice that he wanted to get to know everyone, so he ate breakfast with us each morning even though his English isn't great. The breakfast that he served in the morning was nice...though a bit sparse - just croissants and bread every morning, though his coffee was delicious. I didn't like how you couldn't lock your own door (not that I distrusted the hosts, but I feel that when you have passports and electronic equipment with you a lock is a common feature that should be provided. You could lock the room when you were inside, but not when you l eft for the day). My fiancee and I strongly disliked the location. Compared to other areas in Paris this was a dirty area that was LOUD LOUD LOUD every night. The B&B is on the second floor, and there is some type of club/music hall directly across the street. With no good way to filter out noise, each and every night was loud until about midnight or 1 AM. Also, we found Garlonn, Cedric's girlfriend who lives there as well, to be unfriendly and even rude, our experience with her was very unfortunate. I would not stay here again if I ever return to Paris, and I would not recommend it to a friend.
