Stayed for one night to see Paris on our journey home. Just a few minutes walk from the nearby metro station (Francois Mitterand Bibliotheque) making it a short run into the city centre. Comfiest bed I've slept in in years, continental breakfast included, left luggage facility with reception and helpful staff. A/C room with usual facilities and a fantastic power shower (pet hate is showers that trickle!) we will use this again should we stopover in Paris!

I would not hesitate to use this hotel again. Staff lovely! Bed was so comfortable. Clean and tidy. Modern looking. Good for families. We were well looked after. Left luggage facility was good. Very good time was had. Metro brilliant. We did the tourist bits, Notre Dame. Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe etc.

During a working recent trip to Paris I stayed at the Ibis Styles Tolbiac.

On the downside, the hotel is located on the busy rue Tolbiac, and if you like your windows open at night then be prepared for some noise. It is also a typical 'Styles' hotel, I think, with bright colours and some quite 'plasticy' furniture - nice if you like that sort of stuff, but it certainly is not my cup of tea.

On the upside, the staff I encountered were really friendly, which is not always the case in Parisian hotels!

The bedroom, although not huge, was big enough to accommodate twin beds, and had a small working table in it as well, so pretty OK (again for Paris) on that score. The beds, by the way, were super-comfortable, and all other things being equal, will provide a really comfortable night's sleep.

Wifi was included in the cost of the room, and it worked very well in the room, with no drop-outs (I was using it only for office work/mail, so no idea how it would be if it was 'pushed' for, for instance, streaming!

Breakfast was also included in the rate, and it was really good. Fresh pastries were available each morning (three kinds), there was a lovely fresh fruit salad also nicely presented on the counter, and freshly squeezed orange juice was also on the menu (soooo much better than boxed juice!). Yoghurts, eggs, cold meats and a range of cereals were also available.

Lastly, the same rue Tolbiac that can be full of traffic also has it's good side - - it has a good bus service running up and down it, the hotel is literally 3 minutes walk from the RER and the metro at BFM, and a short stroll from the hotel will also take you down to the river if you head in one direction and up to Place d'Italie and Gobelins if you go the other way - so quite a good location to explore Paris from!!

Situated close to Bibliotek Metro and RER Stations in fairly non- descript city street of high rise blocks. It’s also in walking distance of the banks of the Seine and Gare d’Austerlitz.

After checking the location on Google Streetview it appears this one has recently entered the Ibis stable, having been previously operated under another banner. It may well be that because of this, our impression was still a phased refurbishment still in progress? The main lobby appeared reasonably contemporary and bright but the corridors looked dated.

Our check in was quick and efficient, although adjacent bar area was always quiet for most of our weekend stay, with no real atmosphere and we simply purchased drinks there once to take up to our room.

Our room had received a partial refresh, however, the bathroom fittings appear dated and a bit worn. The shower temperature was also erratic. Otherwise it was clean, the bed was comfy and room well insulated from street noise.

We were impressed with the breakfast which featured a good continental buffet with plenty of choice. It also served until 11am at weekends which seemed very civilised.

Overall, we found this a well placed, budget to mid range hotel and reasonably priced for Paris.

Room Tip: Our room to the main street seemed well insulated from outside street noise, when the windows were c...

Hotel is located in the area next to the Mitterand library where you also have access to shops (Decathlon), pubs and a large cinema complex. Many young people are living around because an university is located in the same area.
The hotel is easily accessible by subway line 14 (exit Mitterand library) and offers connection to the center of Paris and the Lyon railwaystation.
Rooms are comfortable.

A major incovenience is the service: the hotel is managed in a very burocratic way i.e. the internal rules are much more important than providing service to customer and also service at breakfast when attended by large number is sometimes chaotic. The lady at the desk did not give us access to the room because we arrived one hour earlier because of the rules! It is the first time that such things happen to us in a ACCOR hotel!
