We had a wonderful stay at Le Littre, The staff are very helpful and the location of the hotel is fantastic, close to restaurants, shopping and the Montparnasse station, which makes the hotel easily accessible from Gare du Nord. The rooms are charming and well appointed and the overall feel of the hotel is welcoming and intimate. There are rooms available with views of the Eiffel Tower from the Balcony's, which are amazing. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Paris.

Dear Ken,

Greetings from Paris!

We would like to thank you, on behalf of the entire staff of the hotel Le Littré, for sharing such a nice review further to your stay with us!
Indeed, the trip from Gare du nord could not be easier as the direct line numer 4 comes from the train station to the hotel (closest metro stop is Montparnasse-Bienvenüe) in about 30 minutes!
We can see that you enjoyed one of our very particular rooms with private balcony and panoramic view on the Eiffel Tower and we are truly delighted to hear that you recommend it :-)

We definitely look forward to welcoming once again for your next trip to Europe and we all remain at your disposal shall we be of any kind of assistance to you!

Best regards,

Cristèle & France, your devoted guest relation team.

We booked Hotel Le Littre through a travel company as part of an all inclusive package. It was was about the only hotel available from this tour company for our travel dates. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted in a most friendly manner in English, which was great and the check-in process was very smooth. We had a great deal of luggage (2 women, what else would one expect!) and asked for assitance. The "bell boy" was a gentleman in his 40's with whom we had difficulty communicating. He piled as much of our luggage as he could in the lift and we thought he was going to leave our remaining bags unattended in the lobby so I said I would stay with the bags. Then he decided he could fit ALL the bags and ALL of us in the little elevator. We made it to the room but it was uncomfortable.

Our room was very spacious but not much of a view. There was a sitting area with a sofa, chair and coffee table. We had Twin beds, as requested, but they were pushed together to make a "king". We pushed them apart but every single day the housekeepers pushed the beds back together! Annoying. There is smallish flat-screen TV and a mini-bar.

After the "bell boy" got all our bags in to the room my friend gave him 5 euros as a tip. He did not leave. He just stood there. We asked him where we could get some ice. He said call the front desk. He did not leave. He just stood there. Finally I took out another bill and handed it to him. He said , "Thank you." and then he pointed out the mini-bar and said, "Free to you." and then left the room! The mini-bar was, of course, NOT FREE.

We found the room to be quite hot. We had the air conditioning set at the lowest it could go but the room never got comfortable . It was especially hot when first returning to the room after a long day out and then at night when trying to sleep.

Upon futher inspection of the room we found that the lighting was kind of strange. If you pushed a switch in the entry way all the lights went out and we had a hard time figuring our how to turn off individual lamps. We also noted that some of the wallpaper was peeling and that one set of window drapes would not close all the way thus allowing the daylight in to our room much earlier than we wanted!

The water pressure in the bathroom was not the best but probably as good as we should have expected. The bathroom amenities would have been nice, shampoo, lotion, bodywash, etc. had they not been already opened and used! An oversight by housekeeping I'm sure but totally unacceptable.

The hotel advertises free wi-fi. It didn't work well in our room and was actually out of commision for a full day. There is a plug-in available in the rooms if you have a lap-top and there are computers available for use, at a charge, off the main lobby.

A daily breakfast was included with our room. It is served off the lobby in a large "breakfast room". There were very few hot items but some wonderful pasteries and fruit, cold ceral, meats and cheeses! It was very good and we enjoyed it. We were able to take coffee/tea in our room which was quite nice. It's a shame that the hotel does not have a full-service restuarant but there are many marvelous restaurants within a short walk.

The location of Le Littre is wonderful, on a quiet street in Montparnasse. It is close to the metro and bus stops. It's a short walk to the Luxemburg Gardens (at must-see) and The Hotel des Invalides. A wonderful view of the Eifel Tower is also within walking distance, even for us old ladies!

Le Littre is a nice hotel in a nice area but it is NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel.

Dear Anne,

Greetings from sunny Paris!

I would like to start by thanking you for letting us know about what went wrong during your stay with us as it is the only way for us to improve our services, even if it is not very pleasant to read for us!
Please rest assure that we truly regret what happened upon arrival; I sent you a private message as we need you to help us identifying the bellman in order to take any applicable sanctions; remember that you are the only one that can help us identifying this staff member so that it won’t happen anymore! I then look forward to your email.

As your feedback is quite detailed, please allow me to organize my reply in a similar way:

VIEW:
Most of our rooms overlook our calm and bright courtyard, so when you say that “Our room was very spacious but not much of a view” I would like to inform you that it was actually the room you booked. We have few rooms overlooking the street (in the Superior and Deluxe categories), 04 Suites on the top floor overlooking the roofs of Paris with private terraces, and we only have 5 little gems with private terrace and view at the hotel, so for your next stay, make sure to select this room type to enjoy this particular view or a street view!

ROOM:
Shall you need the beds to be separate, make sure to ask our front desk or housekeeping team to put the beds as you want and we will make sure to do it! This might also be our fault and if so we apologize; it could also happen that the agent who makes the reservation selects double bed and does not specify that the guest wants twin beds.
Our rooms are equipped with all the necessary services you could expect and the size of the smallest TV at the hotel is of 58 cm.
Please kindly note that the air conditioning does not work if you leave the windows open, this is a feature as part of our sustainable commitment in order not to waste energy ; if the windows were shut, then you should have called our front desk team to have somebody look for the problem with the air conditioning in your room.
Our front desk team explains to all our guests upon check in that the general switch is at the entrance to save energy and preserve the planet and that you should push it to have light in the room plus the bathroom, and you have then separate switches for each individual lamp.
We are sorry to hear that bathroom amenities were already open; from what we know, we never had this kind of feedback; please rest assure that our housekeeping team will now take extra care about it.
We do advertise free WIFI because this is what we have! We encountered some problems these last weeks as the signal was too low compared to the number of rooms we have at the hotel; we added more internet terminals since a week now and the signal is more powerful everywhere in the hotel.
In the main lobby (our business center, near one of our elevators), we do have computers upon disposal, with no additional charge.

We feel very sorry to read it on TripAdvisor as we cannot do anything else now to arrange it and we would not have guessed that all these had occurred during your stay at Le Littré.

RESTAURANT:
We do not have a restaurant at the hotel for the moment, except for buffet breakfast which is served every morning in our breakfast room. However, we do have a room service menu, available from 7 am to 11 pm.
We do think Paris is a gastronomic destination in itself and that one can find any type of cuisine, from the very small traditional brasserie around the corner to the famous Michelin-star-restaurants, there is always a new or typical place to discover in our neighborhood!

In the end, I would also like to inform you that we are not a 5 star hotel as per the title of your review, but a 4 star hotel; thanks to your comments, our team can now correct it and will be ready to welcome you again for your future visit of the magical City of Lights :-)

With my very best regards,

France Claque, Director of Sales & Marketing.

Overall we found the Rue Le Littre to be a very pleasant little hotel in the 6th arrondissement - but nothing spectacular. The staff was fantastic and very helpful, and spoke English. The street was a nondescript side street but near larger streets with shopping and easy access to train stations and sights. The room was fine though we weren't one of the lucky ones with a view. Furnishings were in good condition but not new. Very clean; bed was great and we slept well. Bathroom was roomy and light-filled. This was a good choice for a family vacation.

Room Tip: 805 had a terrace looking onto building but no view; foldout single sofa bed sitting area.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

Greetings from sunny Paris!

Our team is joining me to thank you for taking the time to share your opinion with the TripAdvisor community further to your stay with us!
Thank you for highlighting our staff quality of service and attention, which are indeed always very appreciated from all our guests :-)

We always like to describe our hotel as a quite and peaceful place to relax after a crazy day walking around and visiting the beautiful City of Lights. Located in a one way street, there is no disturbing traffic and you are still close to main streets such as Rue de Rennes where you can find many places to shop, and the Boulevard du Montparnasse with plenty of different restaurants and brasseries, from the very French traditional La Rotonde to international food.

Regarding the view, please make sure next time to book one of our Superior rooms with private terrace and panoramic view on the Eiffel Tower :-) We only do have 5 rooms with this particular view so it is extremely rare that you can get this room type without being guaranteed to have this one (only available through our webiste or contacting us by email).

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for your next trip to Paris and we wish you a fantastic day!

Best regards,

France & Cristèle, your devoted guest relation team.

Been home one week now from a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Littre, if your looking for a great value, comfortable, clean and well located hotel in central Paris then look no further, this is the hotel for you. We didn't have a high floor room with a view but had one on the 3rd floor with an inward view, this did not matter to us as we had the wonderful city of Paris right on the doorstep. No one in our party of four had a sleepless night through noise, once in the hotel the street noise of traffic etc just disappeared. The front desk staff were very helpful in suggesting restaurants close by ( le petit Littre across the street from the hotel does an excellent rib eye steak for 25 Euro's) and giving helping hints on how to get to places of interest. The breakfasts were very good with a great selection to suit all tastes, very good coffee I might add.
Two metro stations St Placide and Gare Montparnasse are close by, we used St Placide more as we did find Montparnasse a bit of a warren, a lot of underground walking to get to trains.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone intending to visit Paris, we shall certainly use this hotel again, we have found a gem amongst the many competing for business. On a personal note I have to thank Silvia and Eric for posting my husbands mobile phone back to England, he left it in the room and didn't realise he had left it until on the Eurostar.
Thanks to all for a wonderful stay
Rita & Roy Brown, Margaret & Peter Walley all from York UK.

Room Tip: High floor rooms with a view of the Eiffel Tower must be worth the upgrade, we shall next time.

Having spent years travelling the world, I can honestly say that for a city hotel, the rooms are so quiet. No banging of doors, loos flushing or pipes vibrating. Great staff. Breakfast typically french, but if the fruit was lacking, the staff were happy to seek out what was available.
Would return tomorrow.
Close to the Notre Dame, shopping and no more than 5 minutes walk from the metro.

Dear Rosanna,

We are delighted to read that we welcomed a very special guest who "spent years travelling the world" !! As a travel expert, you certainly know on which criteria you chose your hotels :-)

Our rooms are quiet thanks to our wonderful location: only 02 minutes away from the metro station in Montparnasse-Bienvenue, the hotel is located on a small one way street where it is very easy to relax after a long day walking around the city or working!

We would be more than happy to welcome you again for your next trip to Paris, please feel free to contact us shall we be of any kind of assistance !
