“Delightful!”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

We stayed at here for eight nights - on a very quiet street just off Montparnasse Blvd - handy to two or three M stations and walking distance to a couple of world class restaurants. Fortunately, we checked Trip Advisor and knew what to ask for because we like clean, quiet and new/recently renovated where possible. And, because of other reviewers, we also knew who to contact (Cristèle) to let her know of our very special occasion. Cristèle was very pleasant to correspond with and she offered us a terrace room with an Eiffel Tower view! When we advised her it was a bit beyond our budget, she ensured me she would do everything she could to arrange a nice room. And, she did. We loved the room she had set aside for us - recently remodeled and well appointed! We also loved the housekeeping service - kudos to you - every day when we returned, everything seemed 'more clean', more crisp, white and more sparkly'. The entire front desk, bellman and concierge staff were also very helpful and friendly. If you decide to reserve a room, please let them know exactly what you want; I'm sure they will do their very best to accommodate you. We can't wait to stay here again! Thanks to everyone at the hotel, especially Cristèle; you all made our stay "delightful!"

Room Tip: While the recently remodeled rooms are 'delightful' some of the other rooms have not yet bee...

Pleasantly surprised at our check-in at 1030 hours (just lucky, I guess, or was it because of our 50th wedding anniversary?) with helpful staff (particularly Silvia and Rupul) ready to assist. Very tasteful French decor with room to swing a cat in 502, comfortable brass-headed bed and windows that OPEN! Working A/C.Hanging and shelf storage galore in the room. Large shower cubicle with long glass partition that prevents water splashing onto the floor and floor mat. You beaut! Tasty choices at buffet breakfast with bustling, hard-working staff. Close to Metro Montparnasse Bienvenue, 94 and 95 buses that take you through to the Right Bank (as suggested by the front desk's charming Silvia) - after one go at the Metro with which I had no trouble 12 years ago, the nightmare stairs proved too much for me. Many small shops (including pharmacies) at the cross-street Rue de Rennes, restaurants in our street, with an avalanche of restaurants, boulangeries and creperies in nearby Rue de Vaugirard for lunch and dinner. Our shock at finding, after a 1/2 hour wait in vain that our booked transfer to the airport was not until the following day ( a little devil of a detail discovered only by the smiling Silvia) was assuaged by this super-efficient, unflustered lady, who hurriedly arranged an urgent replacement. Full marks to her and our skilful, urbane young maths-teacher-cum summertime driver, who got us to our destination with time to spare.

Room Tip: 502 was everything (without a view of the Eiffel Tower, which we'd viewed and photographed ) we...

Very French, very Paris, not as glamorous as many but a true flavor of the culture! The staff here was fantastic, so helpful and friendly. Walking distance to everything in Montparnesse area, and easy access to the metro. Room was nice, adequate, facing the courtyard. Nothing outrageous or super luxe, but comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and staff assisted in a platter for my hubby in the room, due to illness. Overall a good experience. Check out the video ad on their website...it's very accurate and the people in it DO work there!

We (myself, husband and 7 year old) stayed her for 4 nights from August 3-6th . This trip was part of my 50th birthday present and I was really excited about it based on all the reviews on Trip Advisor. Check in was quick and our room was ready right away. The hotel is nice and clean.

Room:
We had room 711 which faced the courtyard. Waiting in our room was some bottled water, a nice note wishing me a happy birthday and a tray of delicious macaroons. The room was very spacious – even with the pull out bed for our son, there was a lot of room! The bathroom was nice and new and the shower was awesome. After a long day of walking around Paris that shower was so relaxing. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Breakfast:
Lots to choose from: fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, breads, yogurt etc. You definitely would not go hungry. I generally do not eat meat or eggs in the morning so cannot comment, however my husband and son did have the scrambled eggs every day and enjoyed them.

Location:
Great spot for shopping, café’s and the train if you plan on going to Versailles. One of the staff gave us directions there (Versailles) and it was an easy trip.

But:
We came back to our room after being out all day – we’d leave around 10ish and be back around 10:30 – 11 pm. On our third night, when we got back, the door was not properly closed. Needless to say, my heart sank. A number of years ago, our house was broken into just before Christmas - they even stole the wrapped gifts under the tree. I had that sinking feeling again. Fortunately, nothing was taken. We immediately called the front desk and they asked if anything was stolen (no). The next morning we reported it to the front desk as well – it didn’t seem like a huge concern when we reported it in both instances. In think in this instance, had the manager or someone in charge maybe come up to our room or call, that may have made a difference. When things happen in the service industry, how one recovers can make all the difference. The other but – we asked for a wake up call. Granted, we our alarms set on our phones for additional back up, but that and the door being left open left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth.

This is a really nice hotel to stay in; comfortable, room and clean. Not sure if we would stay again as the lack of concern about the door being left open shadowed the overall experience.

Room Tip: 711 is nice and roomy, also quiet as it faces the courtyard.

Dear SusW,

Greetings from sunny Paris !

We would like to thank you choosing our property for your family stay in the City of Lights as well as for sharing your opinion with the TripAdvisor Community!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your room as well as the special treats we arranged for your birthday celebration; we are also glad that the three of you enjoyed our full buffet breakfast each morning :-)

Please be sure that we investigated immediately when we read your review in order to see what happened with the door of the room that was left open. The General Management Team of the hotel informed us of a small problem that they were having with that door system that should automatically shut the doors without help; however, it happened that the system went wrong and that the door did not shut by itself that day.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused and we would like to inform that the problem has now been fixed as the door adjustment has been proceeded.
Thanks to your report, we proceeded to the verification of all our door systems for more security.

We would really like you to experience our property again as we always put a major concern to any guest complaint we may receive; again, we apologize for the inconvenience and the feeling that you had that it was not a huge concern for us.

Please feel free to contact us for any question or request you may have: we definitely look forward to welcoming you again one day !

Kind regards,

France & Cristèle, your devoted guest relation team.

The Hotel Le Littre is situated in the Montparnasse area of Paris on Rue Littre. Nearest Metro sstation is either Montparnasse or St Sulpice. There is car parking available at another hotel, totally secure.
Rooms are very spacious (at least deluxe ones are). Everything about the hotel is nice, except the wifi, which I believe is being upgraded. Breakfast is good and the staff are unbelievably good. They lent us umbrellas when it was raining and gave a full explanation of where to go and what to do.
Fantastic.

Room Tip: Book a deluxe room.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel in July 2014 and what a memorable stay it was! After reading a few of the reviews on here i decided to enquire about an upgrade to our room as I had read how nice the suites were and what a wonderful view of the the Eiffel Tower they had. We exchanged a few emails the day before we arrived and when we did arrive the receptionist knew who i was and asked if i would like to upgrade. Whilst the upgrade did require me to part with a an extra bit of cash, we decided it would be worth it for the three nights we were staying as we had wanted to visit Paris for a good few years and its unlikely we would be back again any time soon.
We were whisked up to the top floor by a special card reader in the lift that only let those with a 'Suite Key' up there so we already felt a little bit special before we had even got to the room! :)
As i entered the room i was really hoping that it was going to be worth the extra money and whilst the room was of a decent size, but nothing huge, it was the terrace that we had paid for.
Two double doors opened off the bedroom onto a good size terrace with table, chairs and plants and the view over Paris towards the Eiffel Tower was beautiful. We were definitely pleased we had upgraded.
The first night after grabbing something to eat we didnt even go out, but instead watched the sun set right next to the Eiffel Tower as we enjoyed a bottle of wine on the terrace. Wonderfully romantic and something that we wont forget in a hurry.
The hotel itself is situated in the Montparnasse region (south of the city) and is in a great location. About a 25 minute walk to the Eiffel tower or any of the central spots, but very accessible via bus and metro and a great street of bars, cafes and restaurants about 2 minutes away that we hung out in quite a lot. The actual hotel is tucked away down a side street so is itself very quiet.
Breakfast was good with most everything you could want but if i had only one tiny recommendation to the hotel it would be to make the breakfast room a little more appealing. Compared to the rest of the hotel it was a little drab and uninspiring.
Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic four days in Paris and would definitely return to Le Littre again due to its location, friendliness of the staff and amazing views of the city. I think some of the cheaper rooms faced inwards over a courtyard without a balcony and whilst Im sure they are still lovely it was the terrace and view that made it for us.

Room Tip: If you can afford it (or even if you cant!!) upgrade to a terrace/view room. You wont regret it!

Dear David,

What a fantastic review !!!
Thanks a million for sharing your so detailed experience with the TripAdvisor Community further to your stay at Le Littré Hotel!

We are more than thrilled to hear that you were pleased by our very special room with private terrace and panoramic view on the Eiffel Tower (not to forget the golden "dome des Invalides :-)). We do not have a lot of these rooms (only 5) as most of our rooms overlook our calm and bright courtyard and only 01 Deluxe and 01 Suite can pride themselves to be located on our "Privilege Floor", which can only be accessed when you have a room on the top floor.

We are happy that you mention our breakfast room as it enables us to introduce a wonderful project: all our public areas (lobby, lounge, breakfast room) will be entirely remodeled this winter; to that effect, our property will be entirely closed from December the 1st, 2014 until March the 31st, 2015.
If you come back next year, you will then be able to enjoy a brand new Le Littré hotel!
