I agree with a previous reviewer - 4 stars - forget it. Walking the 200metres + from Rome metro tripping over people sleeping rough a few yards from the entrance didn't bode well. By the time we to the room after a great day in Paris the hotel 'bar' was closed and room service was not available for just drinks. No kettle in the room so trekked to local shop for supplies. The room only had two tiny working bulbs (indvidual christmas tree lights are brighter) - one of which kept flickering and so we had to keep the curtains open in order to see anything thanks to the streetlamps. The bathroom ceiling looked close to collapse and although there was a bath the plug dysfunctional so it was showers all round. Next time I'll take my own sleeping bag and join the guys outside - they certainly had the better night. Next Eurostar deal I'll not be so naive about how bad supposed 4* hotels can be!

Room Tip: take a sleeping bag - the little park opposite is quite nice

Stayed here for a business trip, thankfully only one night. The hotel was lacking in modernisation. Everything was outdated, the only this modern was the TV. Had sound of trains waking me up in the morning as station just opposite. Would not recommend using the shower as the fixture isn't secure and as soon as you turn shower on the water and fixture go all over the place. Arrived at 9pm and left by 8am next morning. So was just OK.

Booked this hotel through last minute.com top secret hotels, .....that's what it should stay "top secret". First of all, the hotel is out of the way from the main attractions, needed to get metro to most places, not a very nice part of Paris. Secondly, the hotel has no restaurant, no bar, no proper glasses in your room, room was old and shabby and unclean, the only good thing about the room was it was a comfortable bed. This is not a four star hotel. The breakfast, which is a con of 14 euros is a couple of plastic tubs of cereal, no fruit, no toast, cheap thin ham and salami and unfresh rolls. Only purchased breakfast the first day it was that bad. Never again!

We booked this hotel on Lastminute a while back, and were horrified by some of the reviews posted. However, once we checked into our rooms we were delighted. We had three rooms, all of the same standard, and all totally French in design. True, they weren't massive, but that is not the French style, and the decor was fantastic. The beds were really comfortable, the plumbing was faultless and the cleanliness was really good.

The reception staff were all really helpful, lending corkscrews, checking reservations for us, guiding us through the cafe quarter to the most suitable places - nothing was too much trouble.

We had read that one side of the hotel was very noisy. We had rooms on both sides, and neither was noisy. Also, the air-conditioning was really good (and practically silent) so there was no need to open the windows unless you wanted to look out.

All in all, we were very pleased with this hotel for the money and have all agreed that we will definitely come back next time we visit Paris.

Wifi connection was good, and the safe in the rooms was free of charge.

We stayed for only three nights and the hotel was fine for, that short period. Room was cutely decorated but very tiny, could hardly lay our luggage out, lightning was pretty dim. Staff was helpful and we had close access to a bus that took us into where we wanted to go. It did bother me that the wastebasket in the restroom was broken. I'd prefer not to stay there again.

I booked this hotel with Lastminute.com as a mystery hotel, I found out what it was as immediately regretted it. The reviews on tripadvisor were abysmal and so I was prepared for the worst as I had booked it for my girlfriends birthday.

However, this hotel surprised me completely. It's nestled on the corner of Rue De Rome, next to a Best Western hotel. We arrived in the evening and so were greeted by the night staff, not overly friendly but happy to help and do his job.
We were given room 606 (I think) on the top floor. The room was beautiful, not overly spacious but what do you expect for a Parisian hotel? Most importantly From the reviews on this, it was spotlessly clean which is something a lot of people seemed to have a problem with on this?

We had two balconies that overlooked the main road, and the city train station. We did not get woken up by anything, although I do live in the centre of Liverpool so I am used to noise.

There are 3 metro stations all within a 5/10 minute walk, we used Villiers most often as there is a fantastic patisserie on the way. (Come out of the hotel, turn right up Rue De Rome and then take your second right, it should be on your right just past Domino's Pizza). There are also a number of Bistro's and restaurants nearby that offer brilliant and affordable food.

Our room was cleaned every day and towels were re-stocked, however, our bed sheets were not replaced, which can be overlooked as we were only there for three nights.

Overall we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel whose bad reputation seems to go before it. If you're used to living in a city it will not phase you at all, just embrace the Montmartre quarter and have as nice a stay as we did. Would stay here again no questions asked.

Negative reviews made me fairly sceptical about this hotel, but upon arrival I was very pleasantly surprised. Although the outside of the building looks like it could do with a good wash, inside was really lovely. The hotel staff were very helpful, and there was always somebody around to assist with problems or queries. They also provide a shuttle bus to the airport - which would have been worth knowing before we bought our return train tickets, so worth asking about this in advance. The rooms were small but both clean and comfortable. The location was fine, anyone who stated that they were miles away from a metro was either lost or lazy. Metro station Rome was about a ten minute walk away and it was very easy to get around the city from here. No need to wander too far either, the area of Batignolles was lovely and a good excuse to explore a different part of Paris you might not otherwsie see.
