“Ok for the location”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Hotel is ok, the décor is dated, and needs updating but overall the hotel is ok.
For sightseeing and days out the location is great easy access to the central 4 metro line at Montparnasse. I have stayed here several times, for work and the last time was better than the latest time. Clean to a degree but noisy due to the German bar opposite the entrance.
Arrived to a broken shower head on Monday, reported it straight away left the following Friday still with a broken shower head, typical Parisian service just want as much money from you as they can milk, restaurant is ok but again pricey, I would steer out of Montparnasse area for food as its all set menu rubbish and head towards Saint Germain Des Pres about 20min walk north with the tower behind you, still the same prices for much better quality and ambiance.

Overall I would stay again as the benefits of the location outweigh the drawbacks mentioned above, I paid £480 for a week which in Central Paris you wont find a cheaper hotel that isn't technically a hostel.

Room Tip: Something towards the back on the lower floors in summer as it gets hot!

Booked this hotel as alternates not possible. It is across road from 6am closing pub, giving lots of street noise. Bath very dirty and the room thou large for Europe is two star at stretch, lamps not work, wallpaper dirty, power hanging from wall, noise from other rooms, dated and old furnish, which results in it being Very overpriced for what it is. District good, but for the pub..... Wifi works in rooms

Good location but horrible dump!
Old, unfriendly, dirty!
Had to stay one night because it was already paid for for 3 nights and it was passed 12 pm
I didn't even unpack!
First thing I did was to book another hotel even tough there was no refund

Avoid at all costs!

Horrible reception from all point of view, dirty, old with a bad customer service.
Continuously problem with the card key every time resetted, not working and resetting again and so on for all holiday time.
Viceversa, i found a restructured room and a new bathroom. The main defect if that you open the second bed the bathroom is not accessible very easy.
It's position is it's strong point because it is near to the metro, because is in a safe area enriched by restaurant, market and anything else a tourist needs.
Take this hotel into account only if the price is convenient for you.

Dirty, dilapidated rooms, horrible reception and lobby permanently full of extended (loud) family of extremely dodgy types. The card key was reset daily so that we had to try to get the attention of the reception who was usually occupied with the non guest camp in the back of the lobby or nowhere to be seen, just to re-enter our room. Even on the days that we had expressly said there was no cleaning required the room card had been reset. On our departure day we were charged outrageous amounts for the breakfast which was supposed to be included and each cup of coffee we were given with it downstairs. I'm not fussy but this place was nasty.

What can I say, if you're looking for the, I was down on my luck and this way the last place I could afford kind of feeling, this is the place to be....
The cleanliness was lacking abundantly, as was the service (or as other travellers might call it manners).
They tried to charge me extra for all sorts of so called services I enjoyed, like the breakfast I didn't get because it looked revolting, but was actually included in the booking fee and use of the non existing wifi connection....lol.
It was quite amusing to be greeted by an angry family gathering each night in the lobby and that they would be hanging around there all night, didn't feel a bit odd.
The fact that the room looked like Sid and Nancy where the last visitors therefor only added to the experience and I am glad to say I made it home without extra passengers in my suitcase.
