We had a very nice stay. Room had a lovely view - Great staff (btw if the lift breaksdown there is a service lift) and good location made this a good choice to visit Paris - I would highly recommend this hotelMore
- Free Wifi
We arrived in Paris on bicycles, having warned the hotel at the time of booking that we would have bikes, and that we would need somewhere secure to store them, saying that if this was not available, they needed to let us know so we could book somewhere else.
They did not have anywhere suitable to store them.
There were building works going on at the hotel at the time of our stay there, which meant the car park was full of building materials and completely unsuitable for storing bikes in. So, as we were in a ground floor room with direct access to the outside (I believe it may have been a disabled access room), we put our bikes in our room.
Later that evening, they called us on the room phone, to tell us we couldn't put our bikes in the room because it would spoil the decoration, and that we must move them. I pointed out that the bikes were now stationary in the room, and moving them now would only be the same as moving them in the morning. They did not care.
I pointed out that we had actually already gone to bed (admittedly it wasn't that late, but we had cycled a long way to get there). They did not care.
I pointed out that they were not in anyone's way (any more than a wheelchair would have been), and so were not a fire hazard (another excuse they gave us). They did not care.
So, in our pyjamas, we took our bikes outside, and chained them up outside against a railing. In the rain. Completely unsecure. I think at this point they did care, as they walked past a few times and gave them disapproving looks (spoiling the aesthetics of their building-work-ridden hotel probably), but we, at this point, did not care.
Beyond this nonsense, the hotel was fine, the room was a decent size (big enough for a couple of bikes, anyway), and the room was clean. I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast, as after we had paid the extortionate price for the room, we couldn't afford 30 Euros to eat there as well.
