My husband and I stayed here on a work trip to Paris. The location could not be better - a short walk to the Opera, to the Place Vendome - and all the amazing shopping in that area, as well as fabulous restaurants and bars like Hotel Costes (5 min). In another direction, it's a 5 minute walk to the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries. Really, an ideally situated hotel.

The staff and service are 5 star. The concierge service was informed and offered great recommendations. They were also very responsive and helpful with email recommendations and bookings in advance of our trip. The hotel was undergoing some renovations when we arrived (which means amenities like the gym, etc. will be brand new for future guests). The hotel went out of its way to ensure we were not inconvenienced by this repairs, upgrading us to a large suite on a top floor and undertaking other efforts to ensure our happiness -- at the direction of the executive director of the hotel, who was particularly helpful.

The decor of the hotel is great. Very chic, art deco fun. Our suite had gorgeous brocade wall papers - velvet? and lots of fun accents. Exactly what one would think of as 1920s Paris (but upgraded with a modern theme). But very romantic and well done.

The hotel restaurant is very popular as well. I noted that it was always full at lunch time by non-hotel guests - which I always take to be a good sign. Lovely breakfast served daily with fun decor and excellent service.

We travel to Paris frequently and we will make this our regular hotel. It's terrific and I highly recommend.

We stayed one long weekend with our newly born, and this hotel ended up an excellent choice. We had upgraded to one of the newer and spacier rooms with parquet floor to fit in a baby cot. Location and cleanliness at a good value was what we were looking for, and this was the case. Would stay definitely again if we get a similar internet discount rate.

Room Tip: The rooms with parquet floor are definitely much nicer than the ones with carpet, and to upgrade or...

Have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Edouard 7 in Paris. Location by the Opera was great, we walked to Eiffel Tower, Champs Élysées, Louvre, Notre Dame and shopped at nearby Printemps (6th floor restaurant lovely) and Galleries Lafayette (you must see the Christmas tree!). Walking in Paris was part of the pleasure but was easy to jump on the metro too and we did get a couple of cheeky taxis when our feet hurt! Bit all major sights accessible.
Service was incredible, Billy at the front desk and Laurent at the bar were particularly helpful, eager to share their tips on places to go or eat nearby and interested to hear about our day when we flopped down at the bar for a drink. Although I tried my best in French it was reassuring that the staff had impeccable English.
Hotel was very smart and although there were some families staying there who appeared very welcome, the hotel had a grown up romantic feel. There were a few risqué photos around of ladies in underwear which felt all very French but may raise questions from inquisitive children! It had a lovely bar and small restaurant for breakfast and dinner, sumptuously furnished bar area great to relax in before heading out or to look over the days photos. Breakfast was ham, cheese, breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, fruit and scrambled egg bacon and sausage. Ample. We had a cirque Monsieur and burger on the first night which were very tasty and happily served to us in the bar since we couldn't get up to move to the restaurant due to tired feet!
The room was fabulous, we paid extra for a view of the opera and although it was an expensive treat we loved the space in the deluxe room and standing on the balcony with a drink to have those "I'M IN PARIS!" moments! Hair dryer, bathroom shower gels etc and little mini bar. Plenty of space for a prime location room.
No downsides to the holiday overall, we loved it, but the only two things that happened were that my Compact make up mirror got broken in the bathroom, presumably by someone cleaning accidentally, as it was smashed on my return - these things happen, didn't matter but as it was about £50 would have been icing on the cake for someone to have confessed. Also the bar prices here are serious central Paris prices. Laurent the barman made some fantastic cocktails and I'd recommend you try a couple but I think 6€ for a diet coke both at the bar or in the room is pretty steep.
My advice? - stay here - the location and room are fantastic, as are the staff and the service, but buy some drink both soft and alcoholic at the airport and keep it cold in the minibar fridge to save some money.
Thank you for a magical weekend, I hope we will be back one day, there is so much more of Paris to see! :-)

Dear guest,

First of all, I would like to thank you warmly on behalf of all the Edouard 7 Team for having taken the time to write such a beautiful and caring comment on our hotel after your stay in Paris with us.

It is very important for us to have an honest feedback from our guest and it is one of the major ways to improve the quality of our service, therefore we are very grateful.

I have read your comment with a lot of attention and have shared it with all the team.
Regarding your broken make-up mirror, our General Housekeeper wishes me to pass her deepest apologies regarding the matter because in such cases the housemaids always inform the General Housekeeper, in order to replace or repair the damage and in your case , apparently she was not informed on time .
We are terribly sorry and even though it is too late now, for the future, do not hesitate to contact the Front Desk immediately if anything goes wrong in your room.

Regarding our breakfast buffet, we try to do our best in order to suggest a varied buffet that we change according the season and the recommendations of our guests.

Regarding the prices of the mini bar items, it is due to the location and to the category of the hotel. We regularly adjust our prices and try to offer the best value for money.

Finally, once again, I thank you for your time and consideration.

We would be more than happy to welcome you back at any time
Please feel free to contact me if you need any help to plan your next trip in Paris.

Kindest regards

This hotel is fabulous. It's sexy. It's romantic. It has a beautiful, friendly multi-lingual staff at your service 24 hours a day.It has one of the best locations in the city of Paris.I love this hotel !
Located on Avenue de l'Opera between the Musee de Louvre & Le Palais Garnier, this area is alive with parisian energy.Great shops,pâtisserie, chocolaterie and restaurants surround you and you can walk/wheel yourself to the Louvre (be careful-fast&crazy scooters all over)
The room was this one http://www.hoteledouard7-paris.fr/photos?page=2 and it was very sexy (and what an amazing view !!) Deep purples and reds in thick velvets. There was a bathroom with shower&sink and a separate room in the entry with a little sink and toilet. The service was wonderful, food was well presented and fresh.
The staff really made this hotel shine.SO fun,SO eager to help and very kind.

Room Tip: If you like toilet paper-bring your own ! "Bathroom" habits and needs are NOT on ANY prior...

We have recently returned from our honey moon in Paris.

After selecting this hotel carefully on trip advisor it did not disappoint. We were given a lovely room with views of the Opera. The breakfast had a very good selection, and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a very central location which is perfect for visiting all the sights.

The staff are amazing and this is possibly one of the friendliest hotels that I have stayed in. We would definitely go back.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights after my parents had an outstanding stay this summer. We are both in our 50's and enjoyed this hotel for its room comfort, bed comfort, bathroom comfort, and location.
The service could be improved slightly. Whereas the desk service was A-1 the service at the room level was satisfactory.
Commenting on previous points that other reviewers have made, I do agree that to have to pay for Wi-Fi in this day and age is silly. If your room is on Ave de L'Opera it can be noisy but with windows closed it is very quiet ( great quality windows as a sound barrier!)
On a nice day travel to or from the hotel from the airport is easy if you have your suitcase own wheels. The Roissy bus takes you to just beside th Opera house which is 5 minutes to the hotel for 10 Euros per person.
We highly recommend this hotel
