“Busy Hotel - Nice Room”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We stayed at the Pullman for two nights included with our Avalon Rhone River cruise. We don't know what the actual room rate was. Breakfast was also included, and it was a buffet with lots of hot and cold options. The dining room was busy, so allow extra time to have breakfast as there can be a lineup. The hotel desk is very large and busy, but staff are helpful.

Our room was on the 17th floor with views toward the south east. The only famous building in our view was the Pantheon in the distance with its dome shrouded in plastic for work being done. The room was large with a desk, bar fridge, large bed, large bathroom with tub/shower and sort of separate WC (had a door at one time to separate from main bathroom but no longer there). Bed and linens were good. TV and included WiFi worked fine.

The hotel is next to a modern tower which is a prominent landmark. A train station (Gare Montparnasse) is across the street offering easy access to trains and the Metro. If you are energetic, it is walkable to the Seine, Latin quarter, etc, but it is easier to use the Metro to get closer. The are convenience stores and restaurants along the street just outside the hotel.

Room Tip: It is a tall building so if you want a view of the Eiffel tower etc., ask for a room with the view y...

The hotel is large, about 900 rooms, used by tour groups, business people and flight crews.
It is on the outer edge of the tourist area but within walking distance of some tourist sights on the left bank. It is very close to the Montpanasse Tower which has the best views of the Paris skyline, including the Eiffel Tower.

The room sizes are adequate/generous by European standards. The rooms are quiet and the beds & pillows are very comfortable. Bathrooms are a good size with full sized bath tub/shower. The room fridge is stocked with the usual overpriced minibar. Be careful! There are automatic sensors to register used items, so don’t move anything that you don’t want to be charged for. Tea/coffee items in the rooms are very ordinary.

On our first stay the A/C was far too hot for comfort and we had to turn it off to get any sleep. On our second stay our room A/C was comfortable.

The breakfast provided is one of the best and most extensive I’ve had in a hotel. The café downstairs is very expensive for a drink and food but there is a nice piano bar next door. If your can afford it, the Hotel's Montpanasse Burger is delicious!

I am very demanding but this Hotel is great: great service, spacious room, free wifi, very good breakfast (included on the price) and I could sleep in an amazing bed and in silence! :) It's really close to Gare du Montparnasse and in less than 25 minutes you can be at gare du Nord...

My wife and I stayed here for the recent bank holiday weekend. The rooms were very clean and looked pretty much brand new, and customer service throughout the hotel was excellent.
Location was important to us and this was also good - as it was only a 3 minute or so walk away from Gaite station and had a small supermarket next door.
If I could improve one thing, it would be the choice of vegetarian food on the cafe/restaurant menu. Overall, very happy with the hotel and would recommend.

If I were traveling on business, I would NOT stay here. EVER. Their wi-fi is horrible, making video conferencing virtually impossible. The rooms are large, but the carpets were filthy, and I don't think they vacuumed once during our 5 night stay. Also, the mini bar didn't work from Day 1--not even after multiple calls to request it be fixed. The wait staff in the cafe on the Lobby Level were rude, and I would give the hotel 0 stars for customer service. We called for more toilet paper, which was never delivered. The next day, we called again. We finally just bought our own. How ridiculous is that? You want a big, not-so-clean room, go ahead, stay there. Just don't expect any friendly service or toilet paper.

I really love this hotel for my first experience in Paris. Hotel is very clean and the bed is soft and comfortable. Breakfast is a variety of selection and lobby is quite large and staff is helpful. Will come back again.

If you would like to try the french crepe, it's nearby the hotel by walking distance

Room Tip: There are 2 side view, I recommend you to book the Eiffle view room

A good hotel, well situated in an area that is safe and has some restaurants to choose from. The nearest metro station is about a 5 minute walk away.
As all of Paris the bar and restaurant is very very expensive with a pint of beer 12 euros!
If you get a deal for free breakfast then these are good value, they are the buffet style with cheeses, breads, cold meats, bacon, sausage and eggs. So a good selection.

Overall we found the hotel of a good standard and we would recommend it.
