I looked for a Paris hotel close to the Olympia theatre, where I planned on seeing my daughters favourite band play. Checked on Trip Advisor and opted for the St Petersburg. First impressions saw the staff as being warm and friendly, the reception area looked a little tired but clean. My room was on the second floor, so when the elevator doors opened I thought I'd entered the set of "The Shining". This was in a state of restoration, and a bit of a maze. However when we reached the room, it was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom had been recently updated, with an excellent shower providing an incredible downpour. Beds were comfortable, and the room quiet.
Only down side was the pricey breakfast (15 Euros per person, per night). With this in mind, we opted for the supermarket just down the road, and Starbucks just around the corner. Together, this provided an adequate breakfast for less than half the price.
For info, the artist entrance to the Olympia is approx 50m down the road with the main entrance just beyond this. Ideal location for the theatre and all other Paris sights.
Would certainly recommend this hotel, and looking forward to visiting again soon.More
