This was our first time in Paris and I was a bit nervous because you never know what you're going to get when it comes to your room. I loved this Hotel and the location is excellent. This is a small hotel which I love. I personally hate the large hotels and the Melia is perfect for that quiet relaxing non-overcrowded stay. I strongly recommend this hotel

Delightfully positioned Hotel just near the Ache De Truimph. Old world, quaint, great breakfast, clean, but old with plenty of character. Staff attentive to needs and obliging in the manner in which they carry them out.

The best part of this place is the staff, they are friendly, helpfull, with good attitude. The place is in great location, between the Arch of Triumph and the Eiffel Tower, near a subway station. The rooms have adequate size, with a big bathroom and nice decoration.
The only issue I consider they have is the cost of the breakfast, it is expensive. Especially if you see what is included in it.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back look to a inside garde, are OK.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Melia Alexander and I must say we have no complaints at all. The room was very clean and well decorated and our bed linen was changed daily. We were booked in for breakfast which was served in a lovely room with views to a small courtyard and the staff there were very nice, friendly and helpful. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast and all the food was fresh. The hotel is in a great
location - walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe ,Champs Elysees, Trocadero and the River Seine. There were numerous places to eat to suit every budget. I would definitely return to this hotel and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues at work.

Its a 3.5 really.
The good things.
Great location, metro line 2 is 5 mins away, taxi rank also close by in Place Victor Hugo, Trocadero and Eiffel tower are walkable, 15 and 25 mins also 10 mins ot Arc de Triomphe. Staff are very helpful, friendly and speak good English. Decor is good, facilities are fine. The lifts work but are those typical ones you find in the centre of old French buildings- tight fit for 2 people. Attractive building, nice safe area, number of embassies close by.

But
Rooms are compact, bathrooms are tiny, beds are rock hard, hanging space sufficient but dark, walls are thin and you will hear people in the neighbouring rooms. Its an expensive area; 10 euros for 2 cups of tea, decided against the 25 euro breakfast in the hotel. On demand movies are dire.

If you want McD, Starbucks, etc all within 5 minutes. For a treat cocktails or dinner in the 5 star St James is 5 mins away. Stunning building, bar is an old library. Also 5 mins in a cab to Hyatt Regency. Bar on the 32 floor has great views.

Room Tip: Rooms at end of corridors e.g. 343.

My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Melia Hotel during our Christmas holiday in December. We were there for only 2 nights, but loved our stay and would definitely consider returning during our next trip to Paris.

We booked the hotel through Expedia Unpublished and were very pleased with the result. The hotel is in a great location - very close to the Arc du Triomphe and Trocadero. We travelled to and from the hotel using the metro, but the hotel also provides a shuttle service to the airpot (I believe that the charge is 18 euros per person). It was easy to access with our luggage by walking from the Victor Hugo station.

The staff at the hotel are very kind and all speak English very well. Check in and check out were fast and efficient.

Everything about this hotel is very small. The rooms in the hotel are very very very tiny, but we had expected this prior to our arrival. The elevator was probably the smallest that I have ever seen - my husband and I are both fairly small people, and we could barely both fit in the elevator together with our suitcases (and I am not exaggerating!). They only have the one elevator and we didn't encounter any problems, but I can imagine that it could be inconvenient and frustrating if several people are needing to use the elevator at once.

With that being said, the rooms are clean with nice decor. They feel very "Paris-y" - they are very quaint and classic. The windows open up and we had a nice view from our room. There is free Wifi available in the rooms as well.

One complaint about the hotel is that it could be very noisy at times. At about 8:30AM each morning, we could hear housekeeping talking to each other (although it sounded more like yelling) and vacuuming the hallways and cleaning other rooms. I realize that most people are probably awake by 8:30AM, but it still seemed quite early to me to start cleaning. It's too bad that there isn't better sound proofing between rooms.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to other who are visiting Paris.

in this hotel we found everything you'd expect from a boutique hotel. a little bit apart from most known touristic areas, even if just 10 minutes walking from tour eiffel and trocadero, this location allows you to live a little experience of true parisian life, with boucheries, fromageries and flower shops.
