first we arrived...and the suite we reserved, the more expensive, was occupied...then we discovered that it didn't exist... Before reserving by the net I called the reservation and I had been told that there were only one suite...so I choose "suite" in my reservation. It was just a way to take more money on internet reservation!!!Two young men at the reception were too tired to help me with the luggage...the safe case began to shout bip bip in the night, and nobody came! 36 hours later the bip bip were still here: I took off the case and brought it to the lobby...I don't want to forget the wet carpet in the bedroom because of bathroom problem and a kind of big black and white insect we found in the room. I will never come back there...I'd prefer to sleep in the street...

We have just spent Christmas in this central and comfortable hotel. We'd read the reviews and were not sure what to expect, but once we'd recovered from the strange decor (art deco meets safari - be prepared for leopard skin fridge and zebra curtains) found the hotel to be comfortable, polite staff and nice little touches. The linen was replaced daily, room carefully cleaned, good ambient temperature, comfortable bed. The only thing that wasn't good was a shabby carpet, and the telephone didn't work (good mobile signal so no problem for us) - had we paid full price we might have complained but at the special offer price it was excellent value. Breakfast was included and was superb - every taste catered for, and the stylish breakfast room directly overlooks the Folies Bergere. It was quiet and very central, with lots of good places to eat nearby. We were very touched that on Christmas Eve we found in our room a card wishing us a merry Christmas & Happy 2007, with a lovely pack of hand made chocolates - a gift from the Management. Would definitely stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed there for 7 nights, 80euro/per night; we are quite satisfied. The location is very good, in walking distance to almost anywhere, metro is 2min away, one small super market and lots of restranrants nearby. We feel it is quite safe area as well.
Hotel itself is quite small, but clean; Breakfast room is quite nice. Room is even small, but it is not a problem for us. Just we asked for bathtub instead of shower in reservation, we still got only shower. Maybe they don't have rooms with bathtub. Aircondition in the room that's nice in the summer time in Paris. The bed is comfortable, but no quilt on the bed, only carpet, I don't like that, it feels heavy, hard and dirty. Otherwise, the room is perfect.
Staff are very helpful and kind, all speak good english. You feel you are welcomed.
Next time, we will choose to stay with LesHotelsDeParis hotel chain again, if choosing the same area, we probably would try Pavillon Grand Opera, which is the same hotel, but 5 meters near the main street, looks bigger...

We found the rooms small but really up to date decor-wise and clean - the bathrooms were nice but a shower - no bath and strangely no plug in the very trendy washbasin.

Location great - could walk to the Opera area and also walked to the Arc de triomphe one evening.

Didn't use the breakfast facilities.

The staff were very helpful. The hotel is right next door to the Folies bergere which looked closed. The Local area is lively but we weren't disturbed by noise at all.
Ask for a room that faces the front.

I booked Pavillon Opera Bourse through wotif.com for 70 euros, and was totally pleased. The location was quite convenient, 10 mins walk to Opera, and very close to the fabulous food street rue Montorgueil and to Les Halles. The room was very spacious by Paris standards, immaculate and brand new; the bathroom particularly pleasant. The "safari theme" was subtle and nothing to be alarmed by! Service was friendly and altogether I was pleased with the hotel.

We were assured by a female checkin staff on Friday that breakfast was included, but when it came time to checkout on Sunday, we were told that we are liable to pay 56 euros for breakfast!!! Had we known we would never have eaten such an ordinary breakfast but gone down to the local patisserie for a scrumptious and cheaper breakfast... We demanded to speak to the manager but the person at reception (by this time it was a different person, this time a male) screamed at us saying that the manager was not contactable on Sunday (and nor was the female staff member that we had previously dealt with) and insisted that if we did not pay he would call the police. Not letting this idle threat scare us we insisted that he call the police so we could speak to them about the deplorable way he was treating us. He proceeded to speak to a person on the phone in French and then gave us the handset. We attempted to explain our plight in broken French. Who knows who we were speaking to?!? We had enough of the bullying and walked out in tears. So much for our romantic weekend getaway to Paris... He humiliated us in front of other guests. Moral of the story is - get all promises in writing at this establishment as they do not play by the rules. We are not sure how many gullible people fall for this trick but it seems like this hotel's way of making a quick buck.
