“Lovely stay at the Kleber”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2012

Spent 5 enjoyable days at the Kleber Hotel,Paris, brilliant location. Could walk to all the significant land marks etc. which was a bonus. If travelling was necessary, public transport (metro, bus, airport bus) is right on the doorstep. Staff very friendly and informative. Breakfast was more than adequate, fresh and very tasty. We loved the informal nature of hotel.
Bit disappointed in the lack of satellite service - especially for those evenings -after sight-seeing all day - when we had little energy left.

But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kleber Hotel and we hope to go back some time soon.

Room Tip: We had a 'de lux' room which was adequate for our requirements. Front facing with balcony w...

Dear guest, thank your for your comment, it is important information to us. Concerning the tv, it happens that some clients change the settings looking for a particular international channel. Feel free in that occasion to ask the front desk service, a technician is sent to your room thereafter to check all your international channels. We are glad you enjoyed the "brillant" location & the hotel buffet breakfast. Please note that we do have also a express breakfast for 7€ per person only in the bar lounge area to be booked ideally 7mn before going to the bar lounge, looking forward to welcoming you again, cordially, your guest relations service.

I spent one night in Hotel Kleber just because my friend advised me this hotel. It is located in central Paris with walking distance to Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. The hotel is very well decorated inside and you will the "age" of the building. Room was ok, suprisingly spacious and clean. However there was very unpleasant smell in the lift. Additionally there is very stupid way of closing room doors - key hole is located very close to door knob and you have to have very tiny hand to do it without pain!
Bed was very comfortable and I had a room opposite to the street so it was very quiet in the night too.

Room Tip: Better use stairs than the lift

Dear client, we thank you for your time & visit. Hotel Kleber Champs-Elysées Tour-Eiffel Paris was built in the XVIIth century & was the mansion of Pierre-Laurent Buirette de Belloy or Dormont De Belloy (November 17, 1727 - March 5, 1775). He was a French dramatist and actor admitted to the Académie française in 1772 due to his activities as a playwright. Concerning the refurbishing, we had during your stay painters & technicians. We took your comment into account & have put a fragrance diffuser in the lift / elevator. Concerning the keyhole & the door knob there is an easy solution we can show you next time by placing the keychain in your palm... cleaning service is involved into improving the quality of service. We are looking forward to welcoming you again for your next trip to Paris & hope the improvments will be validated. Best regards. Your customer service relationship.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel and was quite impressed. Impressions are both with plus and minus. On the bright side: location, price, staff attitude, fair comfort and antique if you like it. I do and that's why I chose this hotel.
On the dark side: houskeeping does very basic cleaning, i.e. they change towels and wipe the basin and toilet (?) and make beds. They probably wipe wooden floors as well however have no proof of that in my room. But that's all they do. There were 2 mirrows in my room and one of them was probably cleaned a couple of years ago if ever. The web on the wall above my head was horrible, bde head stead wasn't cleaned for ages (I cleaned it with the wet tissue),2 glass wall bed lights were dusty, the radiator in the bathroom was clean only it its upper half, the lower part wss black instead of white between rails. Jacuzi perhaps hasn't been used for ages and when I tried to switch it on the dirt went out of holes together with horrible smell. The hotel doesn't provide hair conditioner, only hair and body gel and body lotion. They do not replace bottles daily. I also have never seen the hotel that doesn't put a new sop bar daily. Towels are clean but very old. Bathroom is so dark that it's impossible to do make up or style your hair. I think that one of the lights was uot of order. Speaking of the lights the room itself is quite dark but that was ok for me. However if you need to do some work at the desk than it is a problem as there is no table lamp. They don't have blinds but just heavy gardines which looked stylish but if your room is facing the street you have to close curtains almost everytime you are in the room. Bathroom has a glass wall so to dress up or undress in the bathroom is not an option. But you can still watch TV while taking a shower which is a plus. Also there were no batthroom cups even plastic ones. Never seen this before. There were only two small shot glasses for not clear what purpose- not suitable for wine or water anyway. No hook in the bathroom as well and the door is sliding. there is no shelf for your stuff as well, just a bit of space on both side of the basin. Worked for me though.
Bedding was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable but the wool blanket looked like it came directly from barracks or hospital of 50s.Did not look antique at all.
There is no hotel guest book, note pad, pen, etc, or any information about the hotel except of the breakfast prices. Did not eat breakfast though. There is no tea/coffee facilities in the room so if you prefer your first cup of tea in bed, bring your own kettle, etc.
The front door of the room was in "antique" condition and won't close until you have to lift it. Good physical exercise, perhaps.
Amonth other positives - My room faced the street but there we no disturbance during the night and I am very light sleeper.
The hotel is non smolking but if you must to smoke ask for a room with a balcony or notify the staff but in this case there is an extra charge of 29 eu per night.
All staff are French which is so rear nowdays and they speak good English. They are very polite and helpful but I've got the feeling if there is a serious problem you'll not achives much with them. Typical I'm afraid. However they are perfect in calling for a taxi (I didn't wait for more than 5-6 minutes), booking restaurants and sightseeing.
As I said before the hotel is decorated in antique style and furnished with real antiques. That is very unusual for a small hotel and makes a very pleasant impression.
All in all I had a very nice stay and did not have any complains. If you are visiting Kleber just be aware of their "minuses" and bring your own shampoo, soap, kettle, etc.
The location is fantastic, the hotel in general is very nice for what you pay for and I am definitely staying there againg should I wish to be in this part of Paris.
Hope you will enjoy your stay as I did.
I would like to thank all the staff for their great efforts to make my stay as pleasant as it was.

Room Tip: The lift is working without a problem, but perhaps the upper floors are more interesting for the vie...

Dear client, your comment is important concerning your room. Please note there were lots of refurbishing happening (painting, sanding walls....) therefore feel free to ask your housekeeper to check your room again for these details. Insects can come from others client luggage or flowers outside but is is extremely rare & surprising. Paris is built on a limestone quarry. Therefore feel free to ask our cleaning service to clean the limestome in the whirlpool system. Hotel supplies for hair & body cleansing gel. We have asked to our supplier to deliver more body gel (we ran out of stock). Feel free to ask for more soap or shower gel (free of charge). Concerning the lights in the bathroom, we did add more spotlights with more power using LED technology. We have added more spotlights in rooms also. Therefore we took into consideration your precious comment. Extra spots were added also to your working desk for better light comfort. In reply to your advice we have asked the hotel tapestry to add sheer curtain in your room so that it is not necessary to use the curtain. We have also installed new stores in your bathroom closing the window view. It is true, there are glasses and not cups in the bathroom. If a client breaks it during his stay we replace it on request. There is a lock on your bathroom and not a hook. Glass of wine is brought into your room on request over the phone (dial 9 to get front desk). There are no more blankets (they had only 1 year old). We use now duvets for a better comfort. We renewed your hotel guest books (sometimes client take it also & it takes time to issue a new one). In order to avoid this situation we have edited extra more guest book in advance thanks for your comment. We can bring in your room continental breakfast 14€ per person or just one coffee, tea or chocolate (3.5€) in the morning. We have fixed your door (luggage shock on the door has created this situation). Smoking is 29€ extra per night, we recommend to reserve this option in advance. Please note we have free unlimited internet access & free Wifi. We do have rooms with balcony that are convenient for smoking. We have a team of receptionist that speaks Japanese, English, Spanish, Italien, German and sometimes Chinease, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian. We also have information in lots of language in the guest book. We are looking forward to welcome you again. You will be able to validate the improvements. You will be again very welcome. We are open to your advises as a basis of a better service to clients. Sincerely yours. Your customer service relationship.

This hotel is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe, with numerous cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel reception is nicely decorated and the staff on reception very friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were tiny (like most are in Paris) but it was still charming. The surrounding streets were very quiet in the evening but the Kleber metro stop near the Arc de Triomphe is close by (as well as another metro stop) so it wasn't difficult to go across town.

Stayed here for a few nights on business. The staff here mean well - but they are a bit hapless when it comes to execution (e.g. ordering taxis, recommending walking routes, restaurants, etc). The breakfast is fine but overpriced. The rooms are clean but spartan and the quality of bedding is below standard. The walls are very thin - you can hear noise in the hall and in the adjoining rooms. But overall, the spirit of the place is warm - if you can tolerate the inevitable inconveniences of Parisian service, you'll have a great time... as long as you're not paying (it's not great value for money).
