Short Stay Apartment Louvre
Ranked #103 of 187 Speciality Lodging in Paris
Reviewed 25 February 2013

This apartment is located just few steps from Louvre, and it is great. And that is all good words about this place.

There is only few lights in the room, so we have to buy candles to light it in the evening.
There is NO HOT water, only small boiler which reheats only one a day. Of course, you can start it manually, but it takes 2+ hours to heat the water for two showers.

This apartment costs me 110 eur per night like "super sale", but I won't pay more for this.

Room Tip: Keep in mind there is no elvator and a very tight stairs. Street view windows could be noisy, becaus...

+ prime location for museums, shopping, restaurants
+ clean room with basic amenities: coffee maker, iron, hair dryer

- street noise is a bit loud
- high price for a clean, basic apartment

Stayed for three nights on a weekend trip in Paris. As another reviewer mentioned, the address we were given on booking was wrong, but we received a call from the apartment as we arrived and the apartment was only about three doors down. We were warned about the stairs but luckily had a room on the third floor and were traveling light. Would definitely not recommend for anyone with a large suitcase! The photos they have posted make the apartment look quite luxurious - it is clean but fairly basic. Seemed a bit expensive for what you get, but you are in the middle of Paris. Would recommend if you are looking for a base to sightsee and don't plan to spend much time in the room.

Room Tip: Request a room on a lower floor - there's no lift.

We stayed for 5 nights in these appartments from the 13th of June this year.
We were given the wrong street number to stand outside of (142) when the entrance is actually 136.
142 is a "Health/Spice" shop and NOWHERE (entrance/walls etc) is there any mention of Short Stay Appts) The poor spice man was also helpful, but no English and we had no French.
We rang and informed the units early morning from London and arriving in Paris, that we were coming.
After 3 hours of standing out the front (wrong entrance) a girl FINALLY appeared from her other (photographic) job from the other side of Paris to let us in.
This was after a kind receptionist across the road (Best Western)took it upon herself to track down our rep from these appartments.
If not for her we would still be standing there !!!
Also, as it was around 5pm... with bags, where do you get nearby accommodation on the spur of the moments ?? I had a bus pick up next morning out the front of 142...
Then she took us to our room .. AT THE TOP 6 STORIES UP..
We are both over 60 and getting up and down that 'light house' type staircase was all too much.
After asking her, the girl took 10% off our rent (Should have asked for 50% !!!).
ALL IN ALL.... NO !! Dont stay there.. OK if you are young, but if older DO NOT stay above 3rd level.
Plus, as stated above, the arrival book in was completely beyond discription (even though I have tried to..) Use the Best Western across the road, they were brilliant.
The girl from our booking could not have cared a less as to what we had been through.
In 60 nights various accom from UK/EUROPE/GREECE this was the worst experience of our trip.
Hope this info awares the unwary.

Room Tip: Dont stay here...ever though dearer, use Best Western across the road

There for three nights and it felt like paradise. The room was sweet and beautiful and clean and like a small home.
It was worth climbing 6 floors of stairs :) Quiet and private.
We didn't want to get out of the room :P
And the view... Superb. Location... We realized we had every place near to us and could walk everywhere.

Being halfway through my stay I am more than disappointed. My husband and I decided to splurge and spoil ourselves our last 3 nights in Paris. It's no luxurious, not even close. It does seem clean and the bathroom is pretty close to impossible to use. After a long day of sightseeing we came back to discover there was no hot water! We called our contact ad she told us to wait and hour and try again. This is of course after we got stuck in a thunderstorm and were soaked and NEEDED a hot shower. So after an hour the temperature has warmed up to luke warm only.... Not impressed. Wish we had booked again at our previous hotel, Hotel Bellevue in the Champs Elyesee area. It's just not worth the money.

it has nothing to do with the photos. it is located in the 5th floor of a building with no elevator and the stairs are 20cm width (very difficult to climb-my god). The windows dont open so inside the room it stincks awfully. There is noone there to talk to only one person brigs you the keys and thats all. the lights close automatically when you go down the stairs so you need to have a flash light or run. Check out 11 in the morning. the bathroom is in an awful mess there is no ventilation and it is really small. Mould in the walls and there is only one closet which also contains vaccum cleaner, mops, irons and other things needed to clean the apartment!!! If i knew all these before i would prefer to pay the same and go accross the street to the louvre hotel which is same price and seems like a 6 star hotel comparing to this apartment.
