I was there this year, in June, and I had 1.200 euros stolen from my room in the penultime day of my stay. (the next room was stolen the same day). My mother, of 80th, who traveled with me, could not sleep the next night in fear that someone entered the room. The hotel has no security. As we were still going to Amsterdam the next day, we had our trip impaired. So, ended up leaving expensive stay at this hotel !!!

We stayed in this hotel at the end of August for 6 nights. I booked the hotel upon a 30% discount in Expedia. The price was fair for that part of Paris, as it is generally a very expensive city. The hotel is located in Voltaire, very close to a subway station from where you can reach to the city center in 15-20 min. You can also walk to Seine River. The rooms are very very small, don't be surprised. The bathroom is also small. If you're planning only to sleep in your room, take a shower in the morning and then go out to the city, the hotel serves well. They clean the bathroom and tidy the room every day. There is breakfast but we bought croissants from many nearby bakeries. There is free WiFi, but pretty slow. The receptionists speak English and they are very helpful. I can stay in this hotel again if I cannot find a better place for a similar price.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the street are noisy until 1-2 am.

This is our second day of the 4 nights we have booked at this hotel. It is also our first time in Paris so we were a bit concerned about the value of this hotel and if it was in a good location or not. We were pleasantly surprised as it is a great little spot, not far from good cafes and the Seine and of course the metro. The staff have been amazingly kind and helpful and run the place very well. Our room is tiny but this is Paris and this is what you pay for. It is perfectly fine for two people, has an ensuite, everything is very clean and everything works. There are four large windows which let in the cool breeze. The bed is super comfortable. There is a small grocery shop two doors away for all your needs and a bar right next door. I think this place is excellent value for money and would definitely stay here again.

just spent 3 nights here.l booked the trip as a first wedding anniversary treat for my wife and i through Hotwire.com without knowing the identity of the hotel beforehand. The room was tiny, about the size of a caravan bedroom with no aircon making it really stuffy especially at night. The bathroom was similarly small giving an overall feeling of claustrophobia. This was my first visit to paris therefore i dont know if this is the norm for the city.If it is then i will not be returning.l was warned by others in advance that paris is expensive and they were not wrong,7 euro for a pint of beer was the norm and eating out was equally dear which is a pity as the city itself is lovely and i enjoyed seeing all the sights it has to offer. If i ever was to return it would be to a different hotel for sure

Spent two nights at Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera in July '13. For a hotel in the heart of Paris, it is nice for the price. It's a small room, but plenty of room for two people. We managed to squeeze in our family of four [kids ages 4 and 6]. Includes a small balcony, bathroom, but no A/C - if you've been to Paris, then you know you don't usually need A/C. Very nice lobby, friendly staff. Stairs or elevator. I'd recommend to anyone in Paris on a budget.

I should mention, very near a decent parking garage for 28 Euro/night. Also very close to the metro. Plenty of affordable bakery and shopping in the area.
