Better than expected for the price (reasonable) and neighborhood (very good). Not a lot of space but who cares, it's Paris. Forgo the overpriced breakfast and head to a real cafe. Would go back to this hotel.

Loved this hotel. The location was great, steps away from cafes, markets, and the metro. The room was small, but that is not unexpected. I did not go to Paris to spend time in a hotel. The room was clean and I was pleasantly surprised at the friendly staff.

Small but clean rooms. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily.

Mostly English-speaking staff, the service and friendliness a bit varying, but overall ok.

Breakfast (not included) is nothing special; croissants, bread, juice, yoghurt, coffee, but you will probably not find anything cheaper at the local cafés.

Nice neighborhood, local cafés and restaurants are good and the metro is close.

The room was really small but terrible thing was bathroom!! It was tiny I could hardly get inside to take shower, and breakfast was very poor, practically NON , coffee was terrible and only thing that was on the table was bread and croissant.

Trying to avoid the 200 Euro/night hotels of the 5th and 6th arrondissement, I looked in the 11th, near the Gare de Lyon. This little hotel offered me an impeccably clean room in a quiet hotel in a nice residential neighborhood. I will return! It is a nice walk to Place Bastille, Place Republique, and Place Voltaire where I found nice small restaurants and shops. I would recommend it if you have more than a day or two and can afford the time to walk or metro over to the central tourist areas. There is a major metro line that comes to nearby Place Voltaire.
The staff was unusually helpful and friendly. The front desk arranged a last minute car to the airport; it was an excellent provider, by the way (Rased Shuttle, I believe).

My room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I was offered a twin room because it was farther from the noise of the street and elevator. Perfect for me! Bathroom was "compact" but immaculate! In fact, everything about this hotel is compact but immaculate.

An interesting tip: right in front of the hotel is a location for renting electric cars that could be nice for a day-trip outside of Paris, Versailles, Mont St Michel, Parc Disneyland, etc.

Room Tip: Twin rooms are apparently at the back of the hotel, meaning that they are farther from any noise of...

I was urgently looking for the hotel to stay during the day to have a rest.
I had a special need and it was very difficult to find the hotel to make an early check-in as a day use. Fortunatelly I found GRAND HOTEL NOUVEL OPERA, with a very interesting rate for the room, and especially BIG THANKS to HAKIM, the day receptionist, who were really so helpful by phone by making the reservation. He was very professional and did the best to satisfy the needs I asked. Well done. I came to make check in, I payed, it was very easy, very fast. The hotel seems to be clean, the rooms are for Parisians dimensions standard, not very big, but to have a nice rest for a cheap price, ideal. The bed was comfortable. The only recommendation, to find the solution to put to shower gel and shampoo directly to the bath, as a holder... not on the sink, as it is now... But it is just the detail.
In every case, I was very satisfy and I can confirm that I had a very nice general impression of the hotel. I already begun to recommend it as it is very rare to find this kind of hotel next to Bastille, for such a cheap price and with a great staff. I definitely come back soon. Thanks to Hakim once again as without his kindness I would never come/know the hotel. Wished all the receptionists were kind as him

Room Tip: The one on the court side as it is was very calm. But in another hand I believe the rooms by the str...

Visited this hotel passed weekend, for the price it has - it is quite good. It is true that the rooms are very small and the corridors are very narrow. But what is more important everything is clean. The location is near 3 metro station, also - 10 minute walk from Place de Bastille and Gare De Lyon. Carrefour is located very near the hotel, so if you need something - it is open till 23.00. Actually really enjoyed this hotel to spend a weekend in Paris.
