“Great hotel in a good location”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Hotel was nicely designed with a beautiful, small but cosy room and bathroom. The view from my window on the upper floor was quite exciting - over a huge on-going construction project (I was told that they are building a big shopping centre). I found this quite interesting and was very happy that staff kindly followed my request for a room on higher floor. The breakfast was nice, too, and I would certainly like to stay at this hotel again.

Me and my wife stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights. The Location is very good, about 15 minutes walking from the Eiffel Tower and in the middle of the Charles Michels Metro Station (Line No 10) and train (RER C) Javel station (5 minutes walking distance each station). The Hotel is new with modern design and facilities such as iPOD and iPhone dock station, radio FREE WiFi Internet of good speed and quality, flat TV with a lot and multilingual channels. We had a room on the 7th floor quite large for Paris standards. The hit of the room is the bathroom with the colorful fiber optic strips and the black - silver tiles! The breakfast is very good in regards of quality and choices and it costs 12 euro per person per day. Very good price comparing the price of a breakfast in the nearby bistrot. All in all a very nice Hotel in Paris with very good value for money.

We were not too sure on the Marilyn theme but the hotel and its rooms turned out to be great. The room was cosy (be prepared for it being small), but it was ultra clean, modern with some lovely glamourous features. The bathroom was very glitzy! (LEDs not to everyones taste!).

The downside is that it is right next door to a construction site. In fairness there is double glazing and the sound is not an issue but don't expect great views. In time there will be a shopping centre and more restaurants just round the corner from the hotel which will be great for visitors. Its near to the metro and also to some good local restaurants. Its 15mins walking from the Eiffel Tower and the walk along the river is lovely.

Would definitely go back, its quite a find.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Suite at the Platine Hotel for 5 days. The room was amazing and well worth the money spent. One of the defining features of the Suite is the Jacuzzi Bath, complete with colour changing lights - it was great to be able to have a nice long jacuzzi bath after a long day strolling around Paris! The bed was that comfortable you really didn't want to leave it with the Apple speaker being a nice touch too.

The staff were lovely and all too happy to help you out with directions and booking taxis (the map we received at check-in was a life saver). It's great to have Wi-Fi in the hotel too and we were given enough passwords for the number of devices we had. Personally we thought the mini-bar to be a little expensive though so we did just get all our alcohol from the supermarket.

As has been pointed out in another review, the hotel doesn't have a restaurant for on the evening but there's a Monoprix around the corner and plenty of eateries so food isn't an issue - (We did a dinner boat cruise the one evening and would definitely recommend that). We never had breakfast but it always smelt lovely whenever we passed!

The building work didn't really bother us with the noise as others have pointed out and I found the Suite to be an excellent size - happy bunnies all round

All in all a great hotel which we'd be happy to return to, that's in a great location :)

The hotel has a great Marilyn Monroe theme running throughout, and is done with real style. The rooms are on the smaller side but have a good layout with enough room to move around without feeling constricted. The theming continues into the rooms, and they really do have the 'cool' factor, from the wallpaper down to the chair and cushions! Also, the bed is large and very comfortable. The flat screen TV and built in iPod docking station are great added touches, and you can even adjust the speakers so that it plays out into the bathroom while your getting ready! The bathroom is a real treat, with lights built in to the shower and an ever-changing coloured light above your head.

The breakfast area has a great design. Food on offer was typically European with cold meats, cereals and croissants. Staff were friendly and helpful although the breakfast service was a little slow.

Hotel is in a great location to the Metro with only a 2 minute walk, and Eiffel Tower is also only a 15 minute walk along the river. Only downside to location at the moment is the large buidling project going on - however if you are like myself and spend most of the day out and about then you wont be disturbed too much by the noise.

Room Tip: Try and go for one of the larger rooms, as the smallest might be a bit too small.

This Marilyn Monroe themed hotel is beautifully decorated with each room having a different look. There are some lovely touches like the LED lights embedded in the shower tiles and the studio lights and chairs.
In common with many 'world city' hotels the rooms are quite small but they are carefully designed and well laid out. Bed was comfortable and huge. The staff were very friendly and informal and completely non-invasive. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the nearest metro station at Charles Michel and 15-20mins walk to the Eiffel Tower.
However, there are a few downsides, some temporary and some not. As mentioned in previous reviews there is a vast amount of building work going on which means it is noisy from 7am till 4pm. The double glazing and sound proofing is actually very good but it will wake you. The hotel has no restaurant. They do serve breakfast in a a section of the lobby or in your room but it is a bit expensive for what you get. The lack of restaurant is not a major problem as there is a supermarket across the road, a McDonalds round the corner and far more importantly several typically French cafes and restaurants in the few streets around it. The internet is limited to one device although staff will often give you another code if you ask.
Overall this is a good choice for romantic getaways and if you fancy something a bit out of the ordinary. The building work is probably sufficiently extensive that those booking should be alerted to it in advance. Its a shame for the hotel who have no control over it but the finished article will add to what is already a nice area.

Room Tip: The 04 rooms are the bigger ones. At the moment most of the building work is on the Rue Robert Kelle...

What a lovely little hotel. The staff were polite and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

The location is great too. A five minute walk away from the metro or a 10-15 minute walk along the Seine to the Eiffel tower. Only downside with the location is there is currently a lot of construction work nearby but by the look of it when that is done the area will be even better.

The rooms are relatively small but it is Paris and you wouldn't expect anything less. They are however perfectly formed. We had a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath which was also delightful.

Breakfast was simple but fresh and lovely. The room was laid out perfectly and a fresh basket of pastries are on every table ready for when you get there. There is a selection of hot and cold food on offer and I was certainly satisfied on each of our 3 mornings.

It was a real delight to stay here!
