You need to love Maryline as her face greets you in every room, and "Some like it Hot" is continuously showing in the elevator. The decor is funky, different in every room as far as I could see. Reception is very friendly as per Parisian standards, there is also a good breakfast buffet in an American diner's decor (at an extra cost, but ok) and a lobby lounge area where you can purchase drinks.
The superior room had a hot tub in it, (twinkling starlights in between wall tiles)- a bit tiny though if you wish to share it. Not too far from the Eiffel tower but with good shopping and restaurant possibilities right next door. The bus takes you into town if you prefer to see where you are going. Metro is right next door, too. A good place for either business or a romantic weekend for 2. I do wonder about the windows though, after a bath the place gets heavily steamed up, might get mouldy in a very short while. The windows open only completely or not at all, which makes it difficult to aerate the room. It was very hot inside the room, aircon did not seem to work my way.

Spent 4 nights at this hotel during our honeymoon in Paris. We stayed on 6th floor with a round bed and marilyn monroe (of course) in our room. Design of the room are very modern, quiet and nice bathroom. The toilet is separate from shower and its is small just enough to finish your business in there. Room are clean and i guess all the furniture are very new, coz the fridge have the new smell. It is close to metro station and its just behind a new mall where you can do shopping on clothing and groceries. It is very near to the statue of liberty (not sure what the attraction name) and quiet a walk to eiffel tower). The hotel also offer spa but we didnt try it. I will definitely recommend this hotel or stay here again if i go to paris next time. thanks

This is a small hotel with small rooms that were spotless, the bathroom was lovely with a lit up shower also the spa steam an sauna in the hotel were great, weren't the best location was quite a bit of a walk to the Eiffel Tower and the other attractions, it's also very close to the metro stations so I would recommend to get the train around to save your feet.

Rating: The Platine Hotel is rated at 4-stars. Our assessment is that it is 3 star with upgrade credit for Location, WiFi, Refrigerator, and Safe. We stayed at the hotel 3 days before our Seine River cruise at the end of November 2013 and 3 days after our cruise in December 2013. The hotel was very adequate, but nothing luxurious.

Location: The hotel was located very close to our embarkation point for our Seine River cruise. It was a 5-7 minute walk, which made it very convenient. The hotel is located about 15-20 minutes west of the Eiffel Tower. Metro service was about a 5-7 minute walk away; reasonably convenient for connections to the rest of Paris. There was a supermarket one block away which made it convenient to purchase water and other food items.

Restaurant and Bar: The hotel offered a limited breakfast for 12 Euros per person. The selection was pastry, hard boiled eggs, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and coffee or tea. We arranged for the breakfast during our first stay. For our stay after our cruise we decided to have breakfast on our own, since we would know the area better. That worked well. There is a Starbucks, McDonalds, neighborhood cafes, excellent pastry shops, and the supermarket.
There is no bar, but there is an “on your honor, self serve, pay as you go” bar with limited drink selection in the hotel’s waiting area next to the lobby.

Staff: The staff was very friendly and generally helpful. But that cannot compensate for the accommodations.

Rooms: The rooms are relatively small. We had two suitcases, two smaller cases with rollers we could carry-on the airplane along with our personal carry-on items. To open the suitcases we had to put them on the bed. The closet space was very small, and you could only hang a few items in it. We could easily store one suitcase in the closet space, but the second extended outside the closet space. Being late November and early December, Paris averaged about 34 degrees which meant hanging our winter coats took up a good portion of the closet.

Motif: The motif was promoting Marilyn Monroe and old Hollywood movies. It was interesting but still could not compensate for the small rooms and limited amenities.

Gym and Spa: These were small and we did not use them because we were interested in visiting Paris and not spending much time in a hotel.

Room Tip: Higher up is quieter.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights in November as part of a trip to see nickelback at the De bercy stadium . The bedroom was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. We paid over £600 for the three nights and it leaves me a little perplexed as to why we didn't get the good deal that was offered on secret escapes as that would have made the trip even better value for money,!loved the American themed resteraunt/ breakfast room. One aspect mentioned by a couple of travellers is the smell or the ambiance. At first I thought I liked it but as the days wore on it became a sickly smell that actually turned my stomach , I suppose this is just personal taste though so don't be put off. The best travel advise I can give is not to use the taxi service outside the airport we travelled on a Tuesday afternoon from Manchester and arrived in rush hour. This is absolutely no joke it took us three hours from airport to hotel and cost e130! on the way back we used the brilliant fast metro and the journey took 45 mins door to airport. The hotel staff know the metro well so are always happy to help and to provide a good map. The metro is cheap Can get a tad manic but the entertainment on board is brilliant, random woman standing up in the carriage and all manner of musicians vying for your attention! All in all Paris was brilliant, not cheap but then you don't expect it to be. Hotel Platine deserves it's 4 stars

My partner surprised me with a 3 night trip to Paris for my birthday, and this hotel, was just out of this world! We flew with Ryanair into Beauvais and took the bus from Beauvais to Porte Maillot at a price of 32 euro return. The Porte Maillot metro was just across the road (Line 1) where we took 2 stops to Charles de Gaule - Etoile and then from there transferred to Line 6 towards Le Motte Piquet Grenelle and then on to Line 10 for two more stops to Charles Michels (This sounds like a lot but the whole journey takes less than 30 minutes!). The hotel was easy to find from there (right across the road from the new shopping centre!).

The hotel is immediately warm and welcoming with the fire place and luxurious leather seats in front, perfect for a late November afternoons relaxation! The receptionists at the hotel immediately made us feel welcome and even managed to have our room ready for our early check-in, which we really appreciated.

We had a classic room on the third floor, which by hotel room standards was quite small, but really beautifully decorated. My favourite aspect of the room was the shower, the colour-changing lights and the spot lights were just amazing, and a very nice touch.

The decoration throughout the hotel was very quirky and possibly the best I have seen in a hotel (coupled with the fact that I love Marilyn Monroe!) and the perfume scent (which is available to buy) in the hotel was amazing (hopefully when we return I can buy some!).

We didn't purchase breakfast or any drinks in the honesty bar, but both areas looked amazing and very relaxing.

For drinks (bottled water etc) and snacks for the day (pack of 8 pain au chocolat for 1.70!) we used the local Monoprix just around the corner which saved a lot of money on breakfasts and daily snacks for our long walks!

The Eiffel Tower is just beautiful at night and just a 15 minute leisurely stroll down to it, to admire its beauty is just amazing!

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and am really looking forward to my next stay here!
