We chose the hotel for a short tourist stay in Paris. it is situated near Montparnasse Tour, the metro station is just in front of the hotel. The Luxembourg gardens are 10 min walk from the hotel. Rooms are not so small as it is obvious in Paris hotels and our bathroom was also very comfortable, newly redecorated and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I really recommend. They have reasonable rates.

The aiglon is a nice little hotel in Montparnasse. The room was tastefully renovated and very clean, had a good en suite bathroom with bath tub and a great shower, minibar and safe. Friendly staff, and very convenient location, a few meters from the Raspail metro station (lines 4 and 6), bus stop across the road (including Paris L'open Tour hop-on hop-off stop). Good value breakfast at the cafe across the road. Close to the Montparnasse Cemetery, burial place of Baudelaire, Sartre, Cortázar and many other famous characters.

I was prepared for the worse booking in Paris. Small, damp, hot, etc,etc..what a shock Aiglon was. We are family of four. Booked the double suite. Two rooms with two twin beds one which converted to a sore in sitting area. Also large walk in closet, very nice updates fixtures, Free wi-fi, free good quality coffee and tea in room (self svc) .building is narrow. Moving large amounts of luggage up a small elevator is tricky. Carrying up spiral staircase trickier.
Hall ways are narrow...like cheap criuse cabin narrow..other than those minor gripes I was amazed this place existed. Neighborhood is incredible ..far from tourist but busting at seams with coffe shops, cages and restraints, inc Italian l Chinese ,France, seafood. You can walk a block without hitting 2-3 cafes.
There is also a main metro subway line 20yards out hotel door. Very easy to get hang of.we used exclusively to get abound on our own even at 1am with kids...never a problem.
Also the large yellow double decker bus which is hop on, hop off stops right in frt of hotelcamt beat that. Also two small markets within 2 min walk to stock up and a laundromat as well.
The hotel staff was great...always helpful with questions. With only 30-40 capasity , you get good service. I didn't try their breakfast but appreciated two flat screen TV with English language channels.
Hotels great...area amazing...food and diversity great...walked around at 1-2am never feeling nervous with my 9amd 11 yr old girls. Your only close to luxembourge gardens, so plan on metro rail or hop off hop on buss which makes most sense.

Room Tip: 4 person suite has two separate rooms...nice to stretch out and keep kids separate from you and mrs...

The hotel was quite nice, with renovated and clean rooms (the hotel corridors were very narrow). The french balcony view was good (recommending a room which has a view to Bld Edgar Quinot and upper floor). Air conditioning was functioning, but it was very cold. There were no possibility to turn it little less cold. Mini-refridgerator was working and clean.
The most useful thing was the hotel location near the metro station Raspail. There was also supermarket Monoprix nearby and many restaurants within 5 minutes walk (recomment: La Coupole).
The hotel staff was very friendly and even booked us a table at La Coupole (fine dining nearby). Room door was heavy and hard to open, but that was a minor thing.

Room Tip: Choose the upper floor and view to Boulevard Edgar Quinot (an open view and much more daylight).

Very nice hotel.I was in a room with a two twins together and a sitting room with a fold out bed. It was clean - appeared to have brand new mattresses that were very comfortable. Rooms were resh and bright, the french windows in my rooms appeared new, the bathroom was clean, modern with many decorative touches. TV's in both sleeping areas and had a small closet with a window and many shelves/safe. I did not get the breakfast so unable to rate that. The staff were very attentive and kind to my family - helpful and cheerful. They were willing to work with me when I tried to speak French, very patient, but were fluent in English. Great location very close to Metro and RER with a really good cafe across the street from hotel. I would recommend highly.

Their website runs sales for their non-renovated rooms. They look nothing like their renovated rooms on the website. Their non-renovated rooms basically looks like the YMCA or your elderly grandma put something together for you.

Location wise on Blvd Rapspail is super convenient so you do have that because if you don't spend a lot of time in your room, it's nice.

Front Desk folks were nice enough and the lobby looks better than a non-renovated room.

I think the main thing is if you buy the room on Priceline or Hotwire, you're going to be very disappointed with the room.

Room Tip: Don't get a non-renovated room but if you used a travel portal, you might be out of luck

Dear UsedToSmallSpaces,

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Hotel Aiglon Paris on Trip Advisor. Your remarks are precious to help us improve our service.

We are currently running a renovation campaign but the hotel indeed still offers 9 non-renovated rooms (6 Club rooms and 3 Superior rooms) on a total of 46 rooms. As you have noticed it while booking your stay, the fact that these rooms are non renovated is clearly indicated in the room description on our own website as well as on online distributors’ and they are illustrated with pictures. In average, renovated rooms are priced 20 to 25€ more than the non- renovated room. In addition, let me precise that all of room types are available on distribution portals and that you will always get the best and accurate information by booking on the hotel website www.hotel-aiglon-paris.com.

I am really sorry that despite this information, your room has disappointed you. In reaction to your review, we are taking actions to make it clearer to guests that non-renovated rooms do not offer the same setting than renovated rooms.

Sincerely yours,

Located on the Blvd. Raspail - this hotel is a block away the Boulevard Montparnasse close to the restaurants Le Dome and La Coupolle. It has a friendly staff and clean rooms. A small breakfast buffet is offered for an additional 15 euros.
