Stayed here for three nights in the beginning of March 2014. Firstly we were in Paris for a weekend away - so it was a pleasure trip. I was very enthusiastic about getting around like a Parisian - on the metro! This hotel was two trains from the airport at the Rome Metro station (- look up the lines to take before you go), hence it was not an issue getting to it or finding it. It was nicely out of the way tucked down a side street. The hotel itself - the reception was small and cute. It had modern decor and did not disappoint on entering. The reception staff were okay. They did not give me a reason to complain, but they were not overtly friendly either, suited us perfectly. They helped us if we needed it - what more could you ask for. But immediately on entering the lift we realized the hotel was in the midst of re-decoration. The smell of paint was strong and the corridors were messy - but this has to be done at some point and is not an all year round affair, so again I would not be too worried about it. The room was cute and nicely decorated. It was a deluxe one, so it was bigger than the regular ones. This suited us perfectly. There was a television in the room and a mini bar. The bathroom was nice and clean with a nice little bath/shower. The room was wonderful until we went to go to sleep. We were really disappointed to discover that it was not comfortable at all and I genuinely did not sleep the first 2 nights, but just was just so over tired and exhausted the last night, I slept most of the night. The pillows were not great quality and the bed was hard. This really impacted our trip as we wanted to spend the whole time out walking around Paris, but having come from a week of work this was very hard to enjoy. Especially walking around the Louvre! I would not return for this reason. I really wish that wasn't the case as everything else was lovely, including the breakfast. If you were a heavy sleeper not too concerned about hardness of mattresses and quality of pillows, this hotel is great value and would have suited us perfectly otherwise. If this was improved I would definitely return! Such a shame.

Room Tip: Definately choose the deluxe room on the highest floor available! - it costs more but worth it. Ro...

Just read one reviewer call this a jewel of a hotel and they're right! Very clean, updated room - they're small but very nice. Hotel is super close to the Rome metro stop making it super easy to get around. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful with all of our questions and offering advice. Great deal for this place.

Room Tip: Get one on the 6th floor that faces Rue De Berne - great view of the Eiffel Tower, especially at nig...

The room was pretty modern. It's close to the bus stop and the metro station. There's a bunch of restaurants close too and a small market where you can buy water, wine and food. The room size is decent and very clean. It's easy to get to and from the airport both Orly and CDG.

Stayed here for three days to see the sights, such as Notre Dame, montmartre...close to metro station (Rome exit). Concierge was helpful. Room was neat and clean. Would recommend! Decent rates, as well.

Hotel locate in safe location. It's closed to monmarte but when I came back to hotel at night (around 4pm) I didn't find any thief or pickpocket. Hotel is closed to 3 Metro station in 3 line so easy to get around Paris. Standard rate is 230 euro/night if you booking early from many booking website you can get very cheap price. Near the hotel about 100m there have a supermarket that closed 9pm. The room is quite small but still good. Recommend!

Not much to complain about here. Yes, the rooms tend to be small but we don't go to Paris to sit in a hotel room. We have stayed here three times now, for a week each time, and remain big fans. The location is great. We are both septuagenarians but still managed to walk everywhere - Montmartre, the Champs, Hausmann, the Seine, Garnier Opera - etc. Between us we used a total of 10 metro tickets over the week and two of them served as a little gift to the wonderful woman in the breakfast room. Breakfast, by the way, is great. Flakiest croissants in the world. Room are immaculate, service friendly, Wi-Fi and internet free and unlimited. You do have to accept some train noise from Gare St. Lazare next door but that's small potatoes. By the way, for a great little restaurant quite near the hotel, take the trouble to search out Le Ripaille - superb.

Room Tip: If possible, try not to be on the Gare St. Lazare side

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend after she stayed at a different one on Rue de Berne and said that this one seemed a lot better so after finding a good deal for it at Hotels.com, I booked a room for two nights and hoped for the best.

I have no idea what the negative reviews were all about because the hotel was fine for the price. It was clean, the staff members on duty were always polite and knowledgeable and the room was always replenished and tidy. The only issue we had was that there were no instructions on how to operate the safe to keep our valuables so we had to leave them in our suitcase and hope for the best, although the hotel staff did say we could use their main hotel safe which was nice of them.

There is WiFi in all rooms which was handy because my friend and I used it A LOT to map out our day before leaving the hotel and although it was a bit of a faff to connect to at first, we had no other problems with it afterwards.

The hotel is near to the metro station so there can be some noise but we were given a room overlooking the street entrance so we had no trouble with noise, even being next to the elevator didn't bother us because we were so tired at the end of each day.

There are two Metro stations nearby (Liege and Rome) which connect to major lines leading to tourist places and the system was really easy to figure out as it's similar to the London tube network. Also, Gare du Nord is only 15 minutes away so it was really convenient to get to the hotel as well as getting back there for our train home.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel because of the convenience of being close to major landmarks and the Eurostar station. The area is more residential but there are plenty of patisseries and supermarkets nearby so you can pick up any essentials when you need them.

If you do choose to stay here, I'd recommend shopping around for a good deal because it was originally advertised on a website for £65 a night but shot up to £150 a night after a week. I eventually found it for £70 a night on a slightly dodgy looking website and made Hotels.com price match it so win win!

Room Tip: We were lucky and given a street view room above the entrance on the third floor so perhaps try aski...
