From the information we got provided, when we arrived at the hotel (30 students) we were told that we couldn't have 3 bedded rooms and that they only provided 2 bedded rooms which was an inconvenience for us all. The images on the website look nothing like the hotel, they only give you one key and you have to give it back to them if you're leaving the hotel for the day, the woman at the reception wasn't friendly at all and gave us attitude, there was building work being done on the hotel downstairs which made quite a bit of noise, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, no fridge, if we made any sort of noise the reception were asking us all to pay 25 euros and if one lot of us made noise they could take all the money (we didn't).

The hotel needs a makeover (when people aren't in the hotel) as it's very run down, I found mold on clean sheets and stains on the blankets they provided in the rooms. You can hear everyone in the hotel because the walls are that thin.

The only things that are good are that it's a short walking distance to the metro, the breakfast was very good to say it was continental and you could help yourself to however much food/drink as you wanted. The beds are very comfy and the room was spacious for the time we were there.

Room Tip: None of the rooms are quiet as you can hear everything anyway.

Had the unfortunate experience of staying at this 'hotel' for the past four days with a university trip. There's no way in hell this hotel is worthy of three stars, it deserves one star at best. The entire hotel looked dirty, unclean and in poor decor. There were unplastered walls everywhere, paint on the already filthy, thread-bare carpets, chipped paintwork everywhere and a horrible musty/mouldy smell throughout the hotel. The breakfast was appalling, your choice was either a small baguette or croissant, a slice of jam and cup of awful coffee or tea that was grey in colour. Where's the fruit? Yogurt? Cheese? Various meat? Egg selection? Nothing there for gluten intolerant sufferers.

The staff were rude and did not speak a word of english. We booked three bed rooms only to find out only two people were allowed to stay in the rooms despite there being three beds present in the rooms. This caused a lot of complications and confusion.

The hotel was undergoing mass renovations which meant that building work started at 10am every day. Banging & drilling all day with cables all over the hotel and dust everywhere (surely a health hazard). We were woken up because of a fire alarm going off due to builders tripping the system. The hotel also failed to mention these renovations to us when we booked otherwise we would not have booked with them!

The rooms were also paper thin, you could here people above you, next to you and below you.

There were no kettles available throughout the hotel, two of our members asked for hot water late at night and they were told they couldn't have hot water until 6am. Also the hotel was in a very suspicious area and we felt unsafe walking around there.

I've stayed in better youth hostels than this 'hotel'. For your own sake, do not stay here!

Room Tip: Don't stay here full stop. Choose a different hotel!

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Ambassadeur. Having seen the pictures we were hoping for something better. Very friendly and helpful staff, but the hotel needs a total makeover. The carpets are spotty and do not look clean. The walls are thin as paper and you could hear every breath from the next room. However, the beds are clean and totally OK. The shower is so tiny that you can't move around in it. Breakfast area is nice and selection OK. The price was what made us choose this hotel. Will I recommend it? Hmm. If you find a better hotel, go for it. Sorry, I have seen better. One star from me!

Room Tip: Top floor is better. Front side very noisy.

I've been in 3 star hotels better than this. The hotel was under renovation but they put us all on the first floor in a back and dark room Only after complaining we changed our room. It is noteworthy that the employees were friendly and have not raised any objections to the change. The 2nd room was better and on the 7th floor with a better view. As for the breakfast could be better, although the hotel had normal,it missing some variety of cheeses and delicatessen foods, fruit and yoghurts.

Room Tip: Escolherem no último piso

This hotel should be a very good but very basic hotel and value for money when the renovations are complete. It was spotlessly clean and is within walking distance from the Sacre Coeur and Monmatre areas. Near to bus and metro stops. The rooms are not large but adequate for a few nights--we stayed 3 nights and were very comfortable. The beds were very firm and we slept well. Constant and immediate hot water.
The staff on the desk spoke English and when I sent a email with a query before we went the reply came in English. They helped us find a bus to the station instead of paying for a taxi.
Breakfasts were adequate with plenty of fresh rolls, croissants, cereals, ham and cheeses with juice, tea and coffee ad lib, better value than buying out.
Why anyone would want to carry the hotel key around with them as one reviewer suggests I do not understand, it is usual practice to hand in the key and necessary for safety reasons so the staff know who is in or out.

Room Tip: E-mail as well as requesting on booking form if you require a twin room.

Nice hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful to my daughter and I. Metro station just along the road that takes you straight to the Champs-Elysees. The hotel was in a nice area. My daughter and I felt safe walking around, despite what I'd read previously on an online review. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Within walking distance of the Moulin Rouge and Sacre coeur if you're fit. Would definitely stay here again. You're not allowed to keep your room keys but this is good in a way as you don't have to worry about losing them while you're out. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on the quality of that. The only down point was that there wasn't tea or coffee making facilities in the hotel room. However, there was a drinks machine and vending machine on the ground floor.

Took students on a 2 night college trip and was bookedinto this hotel by a student travel agency, I Read the reviews before I left and thought 'Oh Dear' and proceeded with the trip with some trepedation. Need not have worried, the hotel, staff, breakfast was enjoyed by all. The staff very polite and friendly. would use this hotel again for student trips and personal ones. Agree with the review by anne o, 'get a grip'.
