“Three Star Hotel but Five Star Service”
Reviewed 9 June 2012

The staff was outstanding. As a traveler with a mobility disability (I use a folding travel scooter) I need to do a lot of research before going/booking anything. They emailed me pictures of the 'Handicapped Accessible' room when I made inquiries prior to booking. I had done a lot of research on the internet w.r.t. accessibility in Paris however there were still questions. All the desk staff...(Edyta, Mounira, Bernie) had endless patience with my questions. They actually provided better information about getting around Paris with a mobility disability than the Tourist Office! They were friendly, professional and always helpful...and oh yes their English was very good. There is shopping, restaurants, pastry shops, groceries and tourist attractions near by. We stayed for almost two weeks and felt it was like our "home away from home".We hope to return again.

Room Tip: The handicapped accessible room is adequate. It may not work for everyone but it worked well for me...

An ideal location for us, within a 10 minute walk of the Louvre and Opera building and close to all types of public transit.

The lady on the desk (Edit) was very! helpful with advice on where we should visit AND how to get there. AND, She had drawn a map of the area which is fabulous! Ten times simpler to decipher than any published map.

The room was small, typical for Paris but very nice; it's on a quite street so not noisy when we were there. A block from a small cafe (Japanese but with European food) that was perfect for lunch and breakfast.

Paris hotels can be expensive, esp. in great locations like this, but the Sainte Anne is a bargain by comparison; though not cheap, excellent value. We will definitely stay here again.

I'm glad I discovered this hotel on Trip Advisor. It is well-located between the Louvre and the Opera, a couple of small blocks from the Tourist Information Station and a supermarket/ department store, close by the Pyramides and Opera Metro stations, and right on what seems to be the Japanese/Asian food district. There's an Asian food grocery down the street called K-mart.

For service: the staff are friendly, helpful, and speak English well. The reception lady even gave me a hand with my luggage to the elevator (yes, there is one!). The Wi-Fi works well. The reception gives out a very welcome hand-drawn map of the blocks around the hotel, indicating eating places, Metro stations, post-office/tourist information, and other essentials, at a level of detail that most city maps of Paris do not cover (yes, they also have city maps and brochures for attractions).

The rooms are charming, although tiny. But the hotel managed to squeeze in a minibar under the luggage rack, and the TV set had CNN and BBC. The management also seems to have replaced a small twin bed with a single, slightly bigger one, based on the smaller headboard. The bathroom was small but efficient and clean, equipped with towel warmers (maybe it's a Paris thing-- it's the second time I've seen them at Paris hotels in this price range, but not in similar or even more expensive hotels elsewhere).

Sleep quality was good, and this being a side street, it was quiet for centrally located hotel even from a room at front.

Breakfast was at the basement (-1F), in a small but rather charming room. The staff can make eggs as you wish, and there was a choice of fresh bread (the croissants were good), fruit, cereal, bacon and cold cuts, cheese, juices, coffee or tea.

Being close to the Metro and bus stations (you can take the bus to Montmartre from around the corner) is convenient, but those with luggage find its an easy cab ride to and from the stations, which the reception can also arrange. The hotel can also arrange for transport to CDG airport.

If the rooms were a bit bigger and perhaps there was 24-hour food service, this place would be perfect.

My wife and I took a trick to Paris and wanted to stay near the Louvre. This hotel came up on Tripadvisor with great reviews so we booked it. We were given room #1. It's definitely in a great location as there's also a Metro within 3-4 minute walk. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately there is no view (we didn't stay here for the view though), and the bathrooms are very very small. However, the room was lovely and the breakfasts in the morning were delightful. Try their croissants!

I stayed in a single room for 3 nights and if I was coming back to Paris, I would definitely stay here again. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. There are only two TV channels in English (BBC World News and CNN) but a huge bonus is the free WiFi. I was given a username and password by the English-speaking receptionist when I checked in and it worked really well on my iPhone.

The location is very good, and although the street outside is busy during the day, at night it is very quiet and I didn't even need the earplugs I brought with me. There is also no noise from adjoining rooms, unlike in a lot of modern hotels. It's a 10 minute walk to the Louvre, and 5 minutes to Pyramides metro station. If you're going straight to the hotel from Gare du Nord, get a single journey ticket from a machine at the station, take a line 4 to Gare de l'Est and then a line 14 to Pyramides. When you pop up in the street, locate the Opera building at the end of the street (you can't miss it) walk in the opposite direction, then turn left and you're on the correct street.

We had four nights here recently and booked it entirely because of the reviews on TA. We were not disappointed at all. Lovely room that whilst small was comfortable with a nice shower and full length bath which was great for a soak after tracking around Paris.

The best thing about this hotel is its ideal location. Two blocks to Pyramides metro station for easy access to airports and Eurostar stations, 3-4 blocks to Opera and Louvre.

As others have mentioned, staff were very helpful. Breakfast is ok but not included in room rate as I thought I read on their website.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we enjoyed our stay just as much as we did two years ago. We were really pleased to see the same lovely girls on the desk. They are both so welcoming and accommodating that they make you feel relaxed in a city that can sometimes be intimidating. We had room 52 on the top floor which has a small balcony overlooking the street scene. Although rooms are small they are probably slightly larger than your average Paris hotel room, and are certainly not uncomfortably small. Bathrooms are well equipped with good shower/bath, hairdryer ect. Although our heated towel rail did not work and some slightly fluffier towels would have been appreciated. There is excellent WiFi reception, even on the top floor and is free of charge. Our only minor disappointment was again the breakfast. Its slightly overpriced at 13 Euro and is lacking in both quality and variety. Also, finding a hair in the fruit salad was not a pleasant start to the day. I would certainly recommend having breakfast at one of the many cafe's in the area, which will be cheaper and better quality. On leaving we had a midday flight from CDG so opted for their recommended airport shuttle. It was much cheaper than a taxi and less stressful than the metro. We were picked up bang on time and at the airport within an hour. This is still a great mid priced hotel for Paris and my only reason for not giving it 5 stars is probably the breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 52 on the top floor has a small balcony with table and chairs if you want to sit and enjoy some...
