We spent 3 days at this hotel after our wedding in Burgundy. We chose it for its great location - 10 mins walk from the Eifel Tower and the surrounding bars, cafes and shops - and its modern style. The hotel has some interesting quirks with a chocolate shop in the reception area. Lovely chocolates and macaroons!
Our standard double room was compact but had some great design features - large shower head, decent toiletries, large & very comfy double bed, flat screen TV plus a view of the eifel tower (just the top section but you still get to see it sparkle at night). The in-room mood lighting created a relaxing atmosphere that was well needed after a hectic wedding weekend.
The help yourself style breakfast is served in the basement and was perfect - fresh bread, pastries, ham, cheese and eggs on offer. As well as a great coffee machine serving a wide range.
Fabulous cafe across the road called Cafe Central - fantactic food - especially the burgers - and only a stone's throw. We went there every day during our visit.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view of the eifel tower. If you have trouble walking ask for a room on a lower f...

We spent four days at the Hotel Valadon Colors: it was a good choice. The rooms - though quiet tiny - are brand new and ours had a nice view of the top of the Eiffel Tower. Free wi-fi internet, personal computers and printers are available. The staff is very kind and helpful. We had the opportunity to have a room for three persons, which - in my experience - is not easy to find in Paris. The location - between the Eiffel Tower and the Hôtel des Invalides - is excellent: you can reach almost every sight on foot and, if you don't like walking, there's plenty of Metro stations and buses. Go there!

I travelled here with my boyfriend and I searched extensively for hotels in Paris before deciding on this one.

Price: It was more than I wanted to pay, but seemed right in line with the hotels of similar quality.

Location: A few blocks from the metro station and a few more to the Eiffel Tower. It was just off a very quaint street which was always full of people early in the evening. There were restaurants, bakery's, supermarkets, cheese shops, etc. all within one block. I emailed and asked for a quiet room and was placed on a higher floor and had no problem at all with noise.

Room: I booked the standard room and while cozy, it worked just fine for us. It was clean and the bathroom was updated. The safe was not bolted to the wall though which was interesting. There was a very very tiny minibar, which did hold a few snacks.

Breakfast: We booked through the hotel and got a package with breakfast. I liked the sleek design of the room and found the croissants, eggs, cereal, and toast quite filling. The coffee machine was tasty! I'm not sure I'd pay the rack rate for the breakfast though.

Overall I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

We stayed in Paris for 3 nights at Christmas 2011.
The Hotel Du Cadran was amazing, this chic little boutique was ideal for us (myself, my niece and my two boys). Small and friendly with a fantastic breakfast room in the basement. Perfectly located within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and on the corner of Rue Cler a lovely market street with fantastic eatey holes and bars lining it. Paris is ideal at Christmas as everything is open! Yes even on Christmas day there was plenty to do. We went up the Eiffel Tower and then onto the Cirque D'hiver for an amazing performance (not for those who don't like animals at the circus).
Back to the Cadran, we nicknamed this 'the chocolate hotel' because it has a chocolate bar in it. With the most amazing chocolates for sale, a bit pricey, but once you tasted them you knew exactly where every penny of your money went.
The staff were friendly and helpful especially with directions and they helped us getting to where we needed to be by booking taxis when we needed them. Please remember that paris is much bigger than you think so even attractions that look close together probably aren't on the map. I would recommend that on your first day you take the tour bus to get an idea of where things are located. You can get on a variety of buses from the Eiffel tower and the tickets we got were valid for 2 days so really useful.
Also on check-in we were presented with a little map of paris with some discount vouchers in it.
With free wifi in the hotel this was another good reason for staying at Cadran, also, in the gorgeously decorated suite there was a laptop for our use.
A well run and fabulous place to stay, my boys think it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in, praise indeed!!! If you don't believe me just look at my review for Crowne Plaza Times Square New York!

Room Tip: The suite is excellent and can accommodate up to 5 people

4 of us stayed here for my 21st at the end of March. We flew with ryanair to Beauvais, the transfer bus takes you to porte maillot and a taxi ride to the hotel is only about 10/15 mins and cost about 16 euro (they charge you an extra euro per person if there is more than 2 or 3 of you and a euro or 2 for luggage). We were booked in to the junior suite which is on the ground floor just behind reception. The reception staff were very friendly and all spoke very good english. The suite has a double bed and 3 single beds but no seperate seating area which we thought there might have been for a suite but we weren't in the room for long so wasnt a big deal. The bathroom is a wet room and very spacious and clean, they provide you with face cloths, mini soaps and shampoo etc. There was plenty of storage and a safe provided. The room was very clean and our beds got made and new towels every day. We didnt take the breakfast in the hotel but went to the cafe just next to the hotel called cafe du marche every morning. We had a croissant, a hot chocolate (tea and coffee also available) and a fruit juice for 5 euros each, was great for just a quick bite before setting off for the day. The hotel is in a perfect location. 15 min walk to eiffel tower and also very near to the arc de triomphe which we didnt realise until the last day. There are lots of nice restaurants round about with good and quick service, The street that the hotel was on was buzzing at night and had such a good atmosphere as the cafes round about are open until round about midnight, good for a few cocktails before bed! There are bus tours that take you to all the main attractions, we got the red bus which stops at the eiffel tower, if you get a 2 day ticket you can jump on and off as many times as you want and it was only about 26 euros each. The river seine boat trip is also a must, we did this at night which was nice as you see all the buildings lit up. Paris is such a lovely city and when i return i will definitely stay at the Cadran again.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on a 3 night trip to Paris. We booked it through Living Social, which offered us a very good discount, so for us, the value for money was excellent, however, it may not be the case if we had paid full price.

Location:
The location is very good, just 10 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower (useful if you need to get there early to queue!), and the nearest metro station is just around the corner (Ecole Militaire), so it is pretty easy to get around if you use the metro!
There are many bars, bistros and restaurants (and also a luurvely gelateria) in the area which is convenient, but can also be noisy when you want to sleep. However, I only found this a problem on one night when it sounded like someone was celebrating a birthday in the restaurant opposite our room. I had no problem getting to sleep on the other nights we were there.

The hotel:
There is a chocolate bar next to the reception area (looked great, but didn't buy any as it was a bit pricey), and there was a complimentary cornet of chocolates and macaroons in our room on arrival.
The rooms themselves are pretty small (but from what I understand that is the norm for hotels in the heart of Paris), but clean and modernly furnished. The bathroom held a large bath, which is great to soak in after a long day of walking around the city.
I found the breakfast spread a bit meagre and samey. Continental only, of course, but I thought the breakfast area was very charming.

My only complaints would be that there didn't seem to be enough hot water for my immensely long soaks in the bath, and that the safe was loose and could be picked up and carried out easily!

A few tips:
Buy a book of 10 Metro tickets instead of singles if you're going to use the metro a lot.
Buy bottled water at the supermarket down the road from the hotel - it is cheap and you will need it if you are walking around all day.
Remember to take warm clothes with you if you are going up the Eiffel Tower (and be prepared for a long wait) - it can get very chilly!
