We had a lovely stay at Hotel R de Paris. This hotel is bright and sparkling with a modern chic decor and nice staff. Our Chambre Classique was cozy with a super comfy bed and even though we faced street side, the room was nice and quiet. The bathroom had a great rain shower head—the water just gushed, it was absolutely delicious! The bathroom was also equipped with adjustable mood lighting and the room had a faux fireplace in case you want to dial up the romance.

Breakfast is served in a bright airy room on the main floor with an array of morsels to get you out the door. We’re walkers so had no issues with location, we walked everywhere. Montmartre is a hike away, shopping, Tuileries … you get the picture. Psst! There’s a metro stop a block away.

We highly recommend this boutique hotel with the following exceptions:

- Not for the bull in a china shop
- Not for those of you that simply must travel with the 14 piece luggage set

Bon Chance!

Dear Guest,

We were happy to welcome you and to have you as guest. Thank you for your nice review. You probably do not know that you were lucky to take advantage of a free upgrade since you had a chimney and a view street ( which is what are on privilege rooms not classique). And we were happy that you could have this opportunity :-). We hope to see you soon again,

Best Regards,

Anne-Laure

When we arrived we were upgraded which helped to frame my view of the hotel.

It was very clean, highly functional and the staff were extremely attentive; the size of room, compared to previous Paris trips, was more than adequate.

Could not find any fault so happy to recommend it as an above average hotel, well located and do not be put off by the rather drab exterior, once inside it more than makes up for it!!

I have just returned from this excellent hotel. It was everything we needed for a hotel in Paris.
Good location
Excellent rooms that were spotless
Good breakfast (extra charge but worth it)
Friendly and helpful staff.

We will certainly revisit.

Room Tip: The rooms by standard in Paris are small - this hotel made the most of the space and the rooms were spotless.

boutique hotel. Our room was situated towards the patio (room nr 240) so it was really quiet. The beds were really comfortable and for those two reasons you should be able to have a good nights sleep. I felt that the pillows were a bit thick for my liking but they didn't have any alternative.

It's a 4 star rated hotel and when it comes to cleanliness and style it's really fresh. There are a couple of things that brings the scores down. They don't refill showercream more than once a week that is something I've never experienced in a hotel. On the positive side we had 2 bottles of water complimentary on arrival, we would think that that could be something that could be complimentary daily.

The rooms are really small, but as we understood it, that's how it is in Paris. We really didn't have any space to store our suitcases. The wardrobe was quite small.

The hotel is situated in a really quiet area, that is nice. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and also the metro is only one block away (Liége). In one way it's convenient to not live in the area where there's a lot of noise. On the other hand if you don't want to walk a lot you have to travel with bus or metro to go to museums etc.

I tried really hard to love this place. It’s the kind of hotel we like, a quiet little boutique instead of a glass and steel behemoth.

Breakfast is excellent in a nice, bright and totally pleasant open area. We even like the modern interior design. The outside looks awful at present because their is a construction barrier in the street blocking the entire front of the hotel. It makes it hard to find, but is otherwise of little importance. The staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful.

It’s close to a Metro stop (Liege) and there are several little cafe’s nearby. There’s even an ATM machine practically next door. It was quiet enough.

But the rooms are tiny. And that’s being kind. When we moved on to Hotel Dixseptiemes in Brussels, our sitting room was as large as the bedroom at R. Our bedroom was significantly larger and our bath was three times the size. We felt we had died and gone to heaven.

The king-size bed in our room at R took up 90% of the floorspace. We had to squeeze around the bed to get to the other side. There was a fake fireplace at the foot of the bed. Not sure what purpose it was supposed to serve because it was so close to the bed you couldn’t see it. Not sure why you’d want to.

The air conditioning in the room didn’t work well and we spent one unpleasantly warm evening before the staff fixed the problem. They explained that if someone in another room does something with the heat, it could affect our room, too. I didn’t understand how that might work, but they did fix the problem by resetting the system from a control panel behind the front desk. If you decide to stay there, that might be good to know.

The bed has a thick, down blanket that might be nice in the dead of winter, but it’s useless in warmer weather. The only alternative is a thin sheet if you toss the comforter aside.

The bathroom is too small for more than one person to even stand. The shower, however, was divine. Lots of high-flow hot water.

My wife and I needed to share a tiny glass shelf, perhaps 4” deep by 18” wide. It was the only storage in the entire bathroom. You can’t even set things on the toilet tank. She used the fake fireplace’s mantle, instead, to hold her makeup, but when she was using it, I couldn’t get to my side of the bed without walking ON the bed.

Speaking of storage, the only clothing storage is hanging storage in a small armoire. No drawers anywhere. You can lay a couple of suitcases on the floor, but then you’ll have a difficult time finding a place to actually put your feet. They never were able to get our electronic safe to work.

The prices are, of course, not nearly as small as the room, but I guess you expect that in Paris.

I tried really hard to love this place. Ultimately, the room was just way to small for two people.

Dear Sir

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We are really pleased to know that you have enjoyed the design of our Hotel and its location. Our hotel is brand new and offer a great location to visit Paris next to “Liège” and “Place de Clichy” stations. We are also pleased to read that you have enjoyed our breakfast. We are trying to provide the best choice and service for our guests.
Concerning the space in our rooms it match the French standards criteria for 4 stars hotels. You will probably not find any bigger rooms for the similar price that you paid. We are sorry that it did not suit you.
Thank you again for your comment.

Best Regards
