“A fine stay in Paris”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

My husband and I were very fortunate to stay with Hotel Duquesne Eiffel for one night in mid-May. We had never been to Paris before and so were confused by the choice among what seemed like hundreds of options for our one overnight stay. We booked with Hotel Duquesne Eiffel over alternatives primarily because of the radiant reviews on TripAdvisor and the friendly service we received when contacting the hotel to ask questions.

After having experienced the hotel, both of us were thrilled that we picked it! First and foremost, the staff was absolutely wonderful. Kind, friendly, helpful and constantly available. The two women who worked weekday-business hours were lovely. They helped us with reservations, restaurant recommendations, and gave us maps and general information. We were also fortunate to have booked a room on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower (about 10min. walking distance). The room was lovely and very well-cleaned and maintained. Bed was very comfortable, and although it was on a fairly busy street we heard no traffic or other noise in the room! We partook in breakfast the following morning which was lovely as well. Croissant, breads, sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. - a lovely start to our 2nd day in Paris.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and my husband and I do hope to return someday. If we are able to return to Paris, we would not stay anywhere else!

Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Hello,

First of all, thank you for your wonderful review. We are glad that you enjoyed the professionalism of the staff, the customer satisfaction is our main concern, and it’s so nice to read that we reached our goal.

We have renovated the entire property a few years ago, and since then, we really try to maintain the hotel as flawless as possible, and our windows are triple glazed, that’s why the rooms are silent.

Thank you very much for recommending us, and we really look forward to have you back soon.

Best regards.
Justine

We stayed for three nights over Easter 2014. Arrived by taxi from Gare du Nord, about 25 euros for transfer.

Rooms were clean and comfortable though a bit small, as is always the case in Paris. The receptionist was fantastic and sorted out all our dinner reservations and generally made life straightforward.

Breakfast was quite basic so don't get your hopes up. The location was first class, an easy 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and the metro is just a few minutes up the road. Also a great restaurant nearby, which I'll review separately.

All in all a good base for seeing Paris.

My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary at Hotel Duquesne Eiffel. We booked months in advance to make sure that we could get a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, and we were in luck. We stayed in Room 35, and the view was awesome. We could watch the Tower twinkling at night, which was so very romantic. Prior to our visit, the staff was extremely responsive over email, and when we arrived, they were friendly and helpful. They helped us confirm our dinner reservations and navigate Paris.

In addition to the view, the room is comfortable. It's small (remember this is Paris), but there was enough room for the two of us. The bed was so comfy. The location is fine, lots of cafes, restaurants and grocery stores. The Paris metro is easy to use, and we were able to get around to all the sights. The hotel is within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.

We had breakfast at the hotel once, it was okay - enough to fuel us for the morning. Coffee was great. A few tips for this hotel is to book early so that you can get a room with a view, and for Paris, you can obtain tickets to most museums/attractions which really cuts down on the amount of time spending in line.

Thank you Hotel Duquesne Eiffel for helping make our anniversary so special!

Room Tip: Book early if you'd like a room with a view and you can email the hotel to confirm.

Hello,

Thank you for this long and complete comment. As you wrote, the rooms with a view of the Tower are extremely famous and are sometimes reserved a year in advance, so to make sure to get one of them, the best is to reserve as early as possible.

We are really pleased to read that you enjoyed the hotel, and the city.

We are happy to have helped you during your stay! We wish you all the best!

Kind regards.

We just loved our stay at the hotel. It was sooo amazing to watch the Eiffel Tower twinkling from our room at night. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were able to walk to all the places on our list and there were lots of interesting places nearby. I would like to think that we would have another trip to Paris so that so that we could stay at The Hotel Duquesne again!

Room Tip: Room 45 was spacious by Paris standards and had a great view of The Eiffel Tower.

We found this hotel through our Rick Steve's tour book after a disappointing incident and a nearby hotel. What a wonderful staff, hotel and location. The rooms were warm, ample space and comfortable beds. Even though it is on the corner, it was more residential that avenue de la Motte Picquet, where we moved from.

Breakfast was amazing in the basement, with rock arches and the best coffee! We are dreaming of returning soon!

You will miss out if you don't invest a little extra (c.a. 20%) to get a room with a view of the tower. It is one of the most wonderful experiences you can buy yourself. Breakfast costs a small aditional amount and is delicious. You can also get up early and go out for breakfast in a cafe. There are very nice ones nearby.

Room Tip: A room with a view of the Eiffel Tower is worth it
