We stayed at Hotel Langlois this last weekend, with our two teenagers, and a retired family friend. Our experience overall was extremely positive - the only things that detracted slightly were the dated bathrooms and the lack of air conditioning. In all other ways this was a really lovely hotel that we wouldn't hesitate to return to. Having stayed in a Paris hotel with rooms the size of a shoebox earlier - this hotel was pure luxury - all our rooms were huge. Our friend had booked a single room, but was given Room 52, a huge double room! As has been said by previous reviewers, this hotel is choc full of antiques - the receptionist told us the hotel owner is a collector and the hotel gives him a way of displaying his pieces. The hotel is decorated and furnished like an olde world Parisien hotel, and for someone wanting a traditional taste of Paris it is lovely. It is not luxurious, but it is clean, well furnished and decorated, and has comfortable beds. The lift is modern, but styled like one from the Art Deco period. Overall, if you are looking for a taste of old Paris, near to the tube, bus routes and open top bus tours, and you don't mind not having a modern bathroom, then you can't go far wrong with Hotel Langlois. On the other hand, if you want a luxurious modern hotel experience this is probably not the hotel for you.

Room Tip: The views are better at the front of the hotel, but it is quieter at the back.

A very minimalistic hotel about 0.5 miles from the Gard St Lazare ( railroad station) in Paris France. Taking the train into Gard St Lazare is the most convenient way to get to this hotel from the airport. Turn left out of the station but don't expect finding the hotel to be simple. Paris is a series of cow paths that have been paved over.

Look for the large cathedral to the left of the station and then cross the street and look for Rue St Lazare. The hotel is a hundred yards down on the right. Literally took my wife and I, and we are not directionally challenged, 45 minutes to find the right street.

The hotel is clean but very old. The front desk staff is friendly and very competent. Water pressure is minimal. The air conditioning is an after thought but we were there when it was really not needed. However if it had been summer, I would have not stayed.

The hotel is within reasonable walking distance of the opera, the Louvre and the cathedral at Notre Dame.

For the 2 days we were in Paris it was worth the rate we paid.

Lovely Hotel ,warm helpful Reception staff good breakfast. The hotel even provided for a bed for my 3 yr old which was very thoughtful. The room itself was quite large with high ceiling, quaint and old worldly very charming with a fireplace. It is a very true Parisian experience,we loved it.
The bathroom is a very good size for a European hotel.
The beds were not too soft and were very comfortable.

Room Tip: Take the rooms looking inside they are very quiet, if you want a good night's sleep we had 401.

We enjoyed 5 nights in Paris in May in the charming Hotel Langlois. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Given its excellent location, the hotel is an exceptional value. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a huge suite which was delightful despite a problem with the air conditioner. Since the weather was very pleasant, we were comfortable with the windows open, the only drawback being some noise from the street. We particularly want to express our gratitude to Yasmin, the lovely young woman who graciously provided us with so much helpful information. Her friendly and generous hospitality defied the usual Parisian stereotype of aloof hotel staff. She made us feel very welcome in her hotel and in her city.

Good location and a really pretty room containing some lovely vintage furniture. The view was nice too. Bathroom was a bit small but not a problem. Helpful, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something a bit romantic. Definitely try the pistachio eclairs from the bakery down the road too.
