I stayed here for 2 nights, and expected a lot more for £145 per night. I don't mind old fashioned or dated, but the very least a hotel needs to offer is cleanliness. I arrived in the evening and noticed that the room had not been vacuumed, carpet was filthy.
In the morning I saw a cigarette butt under the dressing table, which is pretty gross. The room also smelled of smoke. On my way out I asked the man on reception to ensure my room was cleaned thoroughly that day, and highlighted the cigarette butt under the table. When I got back from work that evening, the cigarette butt was still there and the room had not been vacuumed or cleaned at all. Beds had been made. I complained to a different man on reception who took a photo and removed the butt.
While walking around the room in socks, I stood in numerous wet patches. One near the air conditioner, which must have been leaking refrigerant. Another by the balcony doors, which must have been letting in water. The walls around the doors are also soaking wet.
Damp is an understatement, the room was practically dripping. I feel quite ill after staying at this hotel, and itchy.
Also: no plug sockets by the bed; empty shower gel was not replaced after first night; TV remote control didn't work; air conditioner didn't work; hole in toilet door; towel had red nail varnish/blood on; bed sheets were grubby; shower didn't drain properly, so by the end of the shower I was ankle deep in my own dirty water.
Nice view from the balcony though.
