Just back from a weekend stay in this hotel, and I would recommend to everyone!
It's in a great location, close to a metro station and many bus stops so easy access to all the tourist attractions.
The hotel itself is very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly... The decor is a little old fashioned but to be honest it is quite quaint and french so but kind of works!
The rooms were quite dark at times but that's likely due to the traditional small windows so it was ok!
The breakfasts here were also very nice

After a forgettable experience in a 5 star hotel (part of a cruise package) we were a little apprehensive about our extended stay in a 3 star hotel. We need not have worried. This small hotel is well located in a vibrant part of Paris, very clean and quite charming. We had a "large" room at the front of the hotel which was comfortable and quiet because the street is not busy. The breakfast is served downstairs in what appeared to be an old cellar and although choice was limited it was good. The font desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: The front rooms are larger.

Close to metro, our room was really small, shower hot. Room clean but beware in hot weather, no air conditioner, so really hard to sleep.have to pay for wifi.
Ask for room at front of hotel. Quiet at night for sleeping.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in mid-June, and we were happy with it - it met our expectations. Affordable given Paris prices; clean, decent-sized room that was laid out well; served by a small elevator; small fridge in the room; free wifi (although as others have noted, you need to obtain a code from the front desk that expires so you may need several during your stay); good location close to shopping (Monoprix for groceries/drugstore items, cafes) and Republique Metro station. The only real drawback for us was having to choose between cool and quiet at night. We opted for cool, keeping our windows open, but at the price of street noise. If you're a light sleeper, this might be a concern, but we were so tired from walking around the city all day that we had little trouble falling asleep! A few tips for first-time visitors to Paris: (1) We were warned that having the hotel do our laundry could be ruinously expensive. Fortunately, self-service laundromats are plentiful in the neighbourhood. The nearest we found was on rue de la Corderie. Paris laundromats take paper Euros, so you do not need to save up change. Follow the instructions posted in English on the wall. (2) If you take the Metro to the hotel (it's only a few stops from Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est), be warned that there are many exits to the Republique station. Consult your map carefully to avoid carting your luggage around the whole square. (3) The best restaurant we found in the area around the hotel was Les Parigots on Rue Chateau d'Eau, with good food (try the Black Angus steak with peas and mushrooms - yum!) and drink, and friendlier and more attentive staff than at other eateries. (4) We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but enjoyed pastries and espresso from nearby cafes. In fact the best croissant we had in Paris we bought in the morning at the cafe just across Rue du Temple. (5) The area is a bit seedy-looking in spots, but we found it quite safe - always busy with lots of people and activity. Keep your wits about you crossing streets, even when you have a "walk" sign!

Room Tip: We were in Room 506. Well laid out room, cozy but comfortable for a couple.

Soon after our arrival in France, my husband and I took the RER B into the Gare du Nord and then a taxi to this hotel, which is easily found just off the Place de la Republique, yet on a quiet side street. The front desk receptionist immediately allowed us into our room (at noon) which was small but not micro, with a nice sized bathroom. The bed was a typical small French bed which made for a little jousting while we slept.

The hotel is located about 1.5 blocks from a Monoprix which allowed us to have cheaper water and Orangina, although you could buy cold water in a machine in the hotel lobby for 2 euro per small bottle. There is also now a nice cafe on la place de la Republique for afternoon coffee or wine. We did not have breakfast at the hotel except the last day, and it was lovely with choices and good cafe.

The hotel is in one of our favorite quartiers, le Marais, and within walking distance of many restaurants (we enjoyed Au Bascou), bistros (le Blanc Cassis on rue dupetit Thouars), and points of interest, such as the Museum of Arts et Metiers which any nerd would love!

The receptionist on duty our last morning told us it might take a while to get a cab to the hotel (and he certainement wasn't enthusiastic about assisting us! He wasn't a regular clerk, fortunately.). So we shlepped over to la Place de la Republique where there was a conveniently located taxi stand and one came along just as we got there. We made it to the Gare de Lyon with time to spare for our next adventure in France.

Room Tip: There was no AC but you could open the window for a nice breeze!
