Ok, have been here as I read the reviews on Tripadvisor. But what a mistake this was!

Dilapidated - yes. Cute - no.

Rates have gone up recently (they updated this on their website). If you fancy hearing the sound of drilling and hammers at 10am in the morning and are willing to pay the EUR130+ (no breakfast included) for a double room, then this might be a good place to stay at. The sound did not come from neighbouring buildings, etc. but from the room above us!! So you can just imagine the volume!!! And should this not wake you up, the cleaner will knock twice at your bedroom door at 10.30am and walk straight in, not even waiting for an answer. Not an ideal way to be woken up on your holidays when you do not necessarily want to get up at 8am prompt.

Also - was overcharged for drinks. Wanted to contest this but were in a hurry to catch the Eurostar. They simply did not refill the fridge - and charged us twice for the drinks we had on the first day! Also, they seem to charge something like EUR4 for a small bottle of water??? That must be the case - EUR16+ for four "boissons". We never had alcoholic drinks - mostly just water, and a bit of orange juice. All in all, they charged us about EUR50 for drinks. If we weren't in such a hurry for the Eurostar, I would have contested this.

One good thing was the location, another was that some of the receptionists (they seem to change every time we got there) were very helpful. But otherwise... pay a few Euros more to get at least a 4-star hotel in Paris.

Came here after seeing the reviews on this site - not disappointed! My room cost 90 Euros, it is tiny, dilapidated, but cute and clean. There is a Chinese saying: "The sparrow might be small, but it has all its faculties intact." Immediately thought of this when I checked in, because despite the tiny cute size, the room has (a) WiFi (so bring your laptop, free email!) (b) t.v. (c) bathtub/shower and big sink, ensuite bathroom (d) hairdryer (e) safe for valuables (f) wardrobe with hangers (g) fridge! They thought of everything! Room has a Shabby Chic look with five or six tiny gilt-framed oil paintings appropriately faded in flea market style. French windows look over wrought iron balcony and traffic in the plaza. BEST of all, next to Pereire Metro Stop, and right outside the stop is Royal Pereire Brasserie, where for a mere 16 Euros you can get a plate of 9 raw oysters and a gigantic entree. Delicious. Friendly to English speakers, too. What more can you ask for? Later in my trip I had the opportunity to upgrade to a more expensive hotel but stayed put at Prony because the staff were so nice I couldn't bear to ditch them! Caveats: tiny, so if you are not a petite person, you will hate the tiny bathrub and short bed.

This little hotel was the perfect location and accomodations for our family trip to Paris. We traveled there in November of 2005, with our 12 week old son. Hotel de Prony was located right off a round "hub" of activity in Paris, full of restaurants, shops, and most importantly, a metro stop just steps away from the hotel's door! The area was very clean and safe, and was located perfectly for us....we used the metro each day, and went wherever we wanted to go!

The hotel itself is definitely European, family run, etc. Don't expect Holiday Inn.... Very small rooms, but clean, and adequate. We even had a little window that opened kind of like a balcony and overlooked the neighborhood nearby. The bed was comfortable enough, and the room had good charm! One thing to note: If you have small children, beware of the in-room television. There was a porn channel among the channels in the room, and you didn't have to "click" on anything in particular to access it, just flip through the channels. I think perhaps the French are more laid back about this than we Americans are, however, if my son had been 12 years instead of 12 weeks, it would have been an issue!

We had a plumbing problem right away, the tub would not drain, however the management immediately got busy and fixed it, even though it took two attempts. They didn't stop until it was right...so that was good.

Breakfast was very good...the manager made whatever you wanted to drink, Cafe, hot chocolate, tea. There was bread and jams, fresh fruit (grapes), pastries, etc. Very adequate and tasty.

The hotel elevator is TINY. Our stroller would not fit, but they brought it up for us. The stairwell is small, but attractive.

All in all, we had excellent value for our money, and would certainly return to the Hotel de Prony again!

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is 30 seconds walk from the Pereire Metro station exit and a 10 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe. The breakfast is really nice and is served between 7am until 11am.

Our room was really clean, it was cleaned every day and towels were changed every day. The room had a fridge, tv, hairdryer, shower with hot water all day.

After reading the previous reviews we weren't disappointed. Like the previous review I'm giving the Hotel Prony 4/5 because it is a only a 3* hotel.

After much research on various travel websites and referring to the reviews on TripAdvisor.com, we settled on this hotel because of its keen price, good location, Metro accessibility and good reviews. We weren't let down.

Two of us shared a room in this quaint hotel. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the hotel: the staff were happy to speak in English and, in their own words, likened us to royalty and them as our servants.

We knew not to expect the Ritz but our room was more than adequate: comfortable bed, great view, lamp, bathroom (with shower), TV, hairdryer and refrigerator.

The location is a mainly residential area so it isn't too noisy at night. The hotel's front door is 20 yards round the corner from Pereire Metro station and next door to an Italian restaurant.

All-in-all we were very satisfied with our stay and would stay there again. The reason we gave 4/5 and not 5/5 is that Inter Hotel Prony is a three star hotel - it isn't the Ritz. But for those on a budget, it is more than adequate.

I stayed here with my daughter for a quick 5 days in Paris. We enjoyed the staff very much. Antoine was wonderful with his suggestions and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. This is not a standard large chain hotel. It is a small, well run, clean and comfortable place, simply appointed and perhaps in need of some updating. Despite wonderful new windows, the traffic noise was there until late in the night. But, the metro is just outside the door and the area is full of nice restaurants. Would stay there again and would recommend it. Just don't think of it as a fancy place.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Conveniently located - 10 steps from a Metro station. Quiet neighbourhood - around 20 mins by metro from NORD, very close to Arc de Triomphe. Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly and tried hard to speak English :-D. Although the corridors were small, the room was quite spacious. Recommended.
