Nice hotel in 3rd arr. Everything is close by: supermarket, laundry, cafes, restaurants, shops & even several metro stops. Not in the usual touristy areas, it's in a nice and secure one. Internet works flawlessly (at least in our room).

Rooms are on the small side, but who spends much time in the room while in Paris?. They were recently renovated and flawlessly cleaned every day.

Everything was fine except for a red-headed girl in the front desk. She had an awful attitude toward customers, and didn't care at all about us. During our check-out she didn't bother to say a single word: we asked for our bill, she handed it to us and gave back our credit card after charging it; all without even saying Bonjour or Merci. Afterwards we asked her to call a cab/taxi and all she did was dial a number once, said it was busy and that she couldn't do anything else. Her awful attitude is the reason of my poor rating.

We got a taxi using an iphone app. I wonder how come it's easier for a tourist than for a local to find a cab. Everyone else (housekeeping, reception, etc) had a great and friendly attitude.

Room Tip: Room 301 is quiet and internet works great.

Cons: the Internet kept going in & out, windows and walls don't really block out noises from outside or your neighbors, a good distance from touristy areas. Expect a small room and bathroom because you should expect that in Paris, regardless, of your location.
Pros: cafes, restaurants, laundry mat (on rue de archives), markets, shopping places all really close. Oh, they have a printer & computer downstairs.
I would stay there again, unless, if I found something else that was way better.

Hotel du Vieux Saule, seems like a newly renovated hotel. The rooms (we stayed in a Superior room) are cozy, clean & friendly, but quite small. The bathroom was nice. The area is really nice, and you are in the very heart of the Marais area

It has Free WiFi

Room Tip: We had a room to the back, which was quite. To the street side, I would image could be noizy during...

A long weekend in Paris. Vieux Saule is located in an amazingly vibrant Marais area. Location is great for sightseeing, many of the most famous sights are within a walking distance and/or 10-15 min metro ride away. Marais is great for shopping and restaurants/nightlife.

The hotel is small and the rooms are small. We stayed in a room which was quite possibly the smallest one I have ever stayed in. Bathroom was roughly 1,5 m2. But besides space, there was nothing lacking. Free wifi, hairdryer, minibar, safe. And a French balcony. Clean and relatively modern. The service in the reception is friendly but a bit clueless. We asked for minibar price list (was not in the room), and they had no idea if there should be a list and did not know the prices either. Also when checking out, there were some issues. Nothing major.

Good value, would stay again.

We stayed for 3 nights. Very good location with cool shops and nice bars and brasseries everywhere, and it doesn't feel so touristy. After spending a day around some popular attraction it was nice to come back to this area. The hotel itself was probably newly renovated. Small but stylish lobby area, tiny elevator (we used the stairs everytime despote being on the top/5th floor), polite front desk staff. Comfy bed and quiet room, I slept better than I've done in a long time. We didn't try the breakfast, since there are at least 2 cafes just across the street (and that's where we went)

We stayed for 3 nights during the Paris Marathon and found this hotel extremely good. Yes, our room was small but perfectly equipped. The bed was comfortable, the shower was powerful and the free Wi-fi worked. There's even an iron and ironing board. The only minor downside is the almost total lack of English speaking TV channels. Staff were helpful and everything was clean. The location is very good - near to the Jewish quarter and plenty of bars, restaurants and bakeries.
