“Baby Friendly & Great Location”
Reviewed 24 June 2012

Great experience on out stay, hotel has friendly staff, and is very accommodating, we are travelling with our 18 month baby, the hotel provided a baby crib upon our requested, and put us in the handicap accessible suite which is the biggest room in the hotel. With Gare Du Nord and many supermarkets in the area, you can practically travel without packing, and get everything you needed when you arrived.

The Hotel provided free wi-fi and mini fridge in the hotel rooms, but is missing the hot water kettle (can be purchased right around the corner for 13 euro) and doesn't provide ice for the champagne.

Room Tip: handicap accessible rooms (2/42) on th eupper floors are twice as big as the standard room

We stayed here at the end of our 1-month trip in France. We were looking for a place in Marais but most places we're fully booked & overpriced. Eurostars does good deals. Even though they advertise $550 pn, the rooms change daily from $135+ onwards. We paid $210 per night
Location is good. A bit further than Marais but about 20-30 mins walking
It's located in Saint Martin Canal which we really liked. It's more ethnic, grungier , therefore plenty of different places to eat, lots of bars, cafes etc. there are 3 train stations nearby, 2 of them are Gare du Nord & Gare du l'est which service the longer distance RER as well as metro lines. This means you can get to airport easily.....if you're so inclined to drag your suitcases through Pais' very inconvenient staircases( pretty much all train stations!)
The rooms were tiny but modern & tastefully done. It's run by Spaniards, so none of those silly flooding-no shower curtain baths/showers in French hotels. So no fear of flooding your bathroom!
We didn't eat breakfast here
Overall the best thing about this hotel was the staff- they're all Spaniards... Speak English, Spanish & French. And are the friendliest, most helpful reception staff we've had during our trip. Plus they are warm & lovely. On our tip to the airport for our eveniing flight, staff even checked to see if we could get an earlier shuttle, and made us espresso.
People with children & lots of baggage may want a bigger room, but we spent 4 days out & about, so room size wasn't an issue
Loved the location. Close to Opera & the canal which I liked. Marais is just chock full of tourist from my country, so it was nice to feel you're in a foreign country

Hotel is a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord. This hotel is within 20 minute walk to the major department store area on BLVD Hausmann. You can walk to Canal St-Martin or Gare de L'EST within 10 minutes. A 30 minute walk brings you to La Madeleine, rue Royale and the centre of
Paris. For those less inclined, the metro stop Poisonniere is around the corner and up the street.
Hotel is basically modern with a good size room (for Paris), our room 401 had a king size bed.
Furnished in a minimalist style, meaning no cabinet to place socks and such. Clothes can be hung on hangers, however bring some of your own if you are a couple. Aircon was available in May during our stay. Read the instructions on the shower door before using as this may save a small flood in the bathroom. Hotel is clean and uncluttered.

One thing to mention, is that the bed sheet is only queen size and does not fit the King mattress. You may wake up sleeping directly on the mattress.
Breakfast is fairly good, with a choice of scrambled eggs, meats, cheese and fruit. Cereal is also available. Price of 14 euro is high, however when you check in see if they offer a price to include breakfasts during your stay. This may be cheaper. If not there is a restaurant on Blvd
Lafayette called CORAIL that offer a continental breakfast for 9.5 euro.

Very modern hotel... comfortable and newly remodeled. We only stayed one night, but I would stay there again. The beds were huge, and they had a beautiful bathroom with a modern "rain shower" shower head. While we had a nice stay, the rooms are poorly ventilated, so we slept with the window open. With the cool spring weather, it was nice, however I think there must be a tennis club nearby. At about 5:30 in the morning we started hearing the pounding noise of rackets/balls and squeaky tennis shoes. It wasn't too loud, but rather just annoying. Shutting the window allowed us to get back to sleep.

I loved this hotel. It was clean, up to date and modern. The room size was good for two people and I loved that they are environmentally friendly. The front desk was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Most of the nights we had a lady named Beatrice at the front desk who was just amazing! Always welcomed us with a smile, asked about our day if she could make any recommendations. She helped us look up restaurant information and how to get to and from some of the sights. Thank you Beatrice - you made our stay very enjoyable! :) The location of this hotel is great - there are restaurants, bakeries, and metro stops close by. If you are up for walking, we walked to Sacre Coeur, Louvre and Lafayette Gallery easily. If you don't want to walk, the hotel is a 2 min walk from the closest metro stop. It is every easy to get around. It is also within walking distance of Gard du Nord. Wifi was excellent and we never had any issues with it. The only downside for this hotel is the washroom door. The washroom itself is beautiful, clean and up to date...the problem is the the glass sliding door that does not close fully...we had to improvise with hanging a blanket and sliding a chair infront of the door....also, given the small space, the frosted glass was a bit see thru so we had to be careful. Just something to note.... Overall, I would definitely go back and definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

We had three nights here over a weekend and found nothing to complain about. This is a fairly basic hotel: the bedrooms are small and the bathroom minuscule but the bed and pillows were comfortable and it had everything we needed. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff were charming, helpful and always went the extra mile.

The really good thing about the hotel was it was a great price, about £85 per night for two of us when booked with the Eurostar. Breakfast initially seemed expensive at about £10 per head, but actually compared to anywhere else nearby it was very reasonable.

Another key factor is that it was walking distance from Gare de Nord and just round the corner from the Metro, and 2 mins walk from a small supermarket.
