Fun location with surprisingly modern and well run hotel. Good staff, English papers in lobby, modern room, good bathroom, good breakfast. Limited English TV channels. Bed comfortable and worth the little extra for the quiet rooms at the back. Plenty of places to eat in the area.

We spent three nights here over the New Year. After much searching for a hotel in Paris that was a reasonable price and in a good location I plumped for the Mercure. On arrival check in was quick and easy. We were not disappointed the room looked as though it had been recently updated and had everything we needed. It was spotless and very comfortable. We even had a small fridge in the room that we stocked with water, snacks and oh yes, beer! Tea & coffee facilities, television and free WIFI. The bathroom was the same, new and modern. The room was also very quite, we even slept in one morning! It was in a great spot and very convenient for the Metro. I see some of the reviews say that the rooms are small yes they are not big but are perfectly adequate. All in all a great stay and on our next visit we will not hesitate to book Mercure Raspail again!

Our room (a little small) was on tte top of the building and we suffer the heating even though we closed it and during the day the windows were open. Apart this inconvinient the hotel has an excellent ratio price/quality and a marvellous location: everything is at your hand.

A hotel that served its purpose for a short stay. Small rooms, but no worse than typical for its price range in Paris. Not a huge amount of cupboard space but fine for a few nights. A nice tv (only BBC World News in English), a safe and small refrigerator finished it off well along with a nice little balcony. The bathroom was small but had a good shower.

The worst thing about the room was that it got incredibly hot, especially during the night. We had the air conditioning on but it didn't do much, and the radiator wasn't hot so I'm not sure where the heat was coming from. Having the balcony doors open kept the room cool but with a busy road outside this wasn't much of an option at night.

The breakfast was fairly poor with only a few cereals, some small and not entirely fresh bread, some warm yoghurts and a few pastries, none of which tasted particularly nice. The service was pretty non existent too so we went elsewhere for breakfast after the first morning.

The front desk service was just ok. On our last night we asked what time check out was to be told that they didn't know, leaving us to have to look it up online.

The location was a big plus, just a few minutes walk from Vavin metro station, and a nice walk to the Latin Quarter with lots of nice restaurants.

We had a good deal at around £70 a night which is great for Paris prices. For a few nights and around this price it's well worth considering.

I've stayed at this hotel twice and both times, the service has been very odd to put it mildly. If you ask for an iron when you check in, they just give you one at the front desk and you're then expected to carry it alongside all the rest of your luggage! It's as if they have no extra staff beyond the receptionist. As if that wasn't enough, I then get a call at my room at 11pm asking if I can return the iron! The handle on the bathroom door was broken and luckily didn't cause any harm. Overall, the rooms are small but nice and definitely okay for one person. Location is okay too, very near the metro station.

Very nicely renovated rooms, perfect cleanliness in the bathroom. Breakfast: quite good selection of everything you need: jam, croissant, baguette, eggs to boil on your own, ham, cereals etc. Coffee quality could improve a bit, but this a general problem at hotel breakfasts, as I like strong espresso and not the watery stuff which is running out of a machine.
Free Internet. Very good area to go out for a meal as there are many good restaurants in the area (e.g. I like "la criee" within 5 min walk for fish (reasonable price); or Relais the L'Entrecote just around the corner).
A real problem is the size of the room, as there is very limited space in the room as well as in the bathroom especially in relation to the price tag. This is why I only grant 4 points as it could be a bit cheaper.

We had a 3 night stay and being our first visit to Paris we where very happy with our choice of hotel and the location. Our room although on the small side was very tastefully decorated with a warm modern theme. The staff where very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. It was easy to get to all the iconic sites of Paris although we very much enjoyed exploring the local area. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment, we did have a great Parisian breakfast opposite the Hotel at Bistro le Gymnase and a great meal at Parnasse 138. There are plenty of patisseries, cafes and restaurants in the area, we would stay at this Hotel again if visiting Paris.
The Hotel also provides good free WiFi in all areas.
