“Uninteresting place, high price for what it's worth”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

This hotel seems to be neglected without much care for maintenance. There was broken stuff in the room and holes in the bathrobe. We booked a large room but later understood that for the same price we could have booked in a much better hotel which has been recently renovated.

The location is convenient for getting to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées. Cleanliness is fine but not that great. There are little cafes nearby for grabbing a bite, also offering breakfast.

The welcoming at the hotel was basically nothing, with the staff seeming to be bored and uninterested. If you are on a budget travel it's okey, but don't expect to live any Parisian dream here, just a bed for the night. I have to admit that the place was at least quiet so we could get a good night's sleep and the bed was ok too, so that saved the day.

Don't expect any lounge or salon, in fact, there is no atmosphere and this is the kind of hotel where you just come straight to your bedroom and then out again.

If you are using a car, be prepared to use a covered parking for 36 Euros/24hrs nearby.

The hotel called for a taxi to get us to a restaurant and the receptionist insisted that there was no additional charge for calling the taxi. When we got to our destination we paid 15 Euros. However, strangely enough, when we found a taxi outside the restaurant randomly, it only cost 8 Euros to return to the hotel from the same way, even much later at night, after midnight.

Definitely not staying in this place and not recommending it either.

dear guest ,
first of all i would like to apologize for the bad moment of truth you have experienced in our hotel. i do not know what was broken in the room but this is not normal and the robe should have been spotless . when a taxi is ordered in all the hôtels in the world it means extra cost maybe the Young trainee girl didn't know about it i do apologize for not giving her enough training on our side. i am glad you had a nice night of sleep very quiete . as you mentionned the location is excellent near the arc de triomphe and champs elysees avenue.
yours sincerly

I stayed in the hotel for 5 days on a business visit and hence did'nt got an opportunity to select. Although the hotel is in a lane at a prime location, very close to Arc de Triomphe, but for me it was the worst Best Western hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are too small, the building is old and the service is very bad. I ordered dinner one day and it took them two hours to get me the dinner, that too after making them a reminder call.
The room although was clean and maintained properly, but there was absolutely no view from the room.

dear sir,
i am very sorry to read your comment and would like to apologize for the bad moment of truth you've experience in our hotel. i am investigating about the room service which took so long it"s not acceptable i agree. i am glad to read that the room was well maintained and to your liking .
please next time don't hesitate to come and ask for me I am all day at the hotel taking care of my guests and if they are not happy with something I try to do my best to satisfy them . caring is something in our brand 's DNA as long as we know what could be done to improve your stay. we do have bigger room facing the street with a balcony , coming to se me would have made your stay better. we can't help you once you've check out and post such a comment it's unfortunatly too late . and yes the bulding is old 1890 this is why paris is a nice city all together but the hotel is renovated and maintainted constantly to keep up to the guest's expectation.
i wish you a nice day
kind regards

Went for a weekend, and to be honest was not expecting much for a capital city hotel but was pleasantly surprised. On arrival we were welcomed warmly by the concierge Adele who also offered to book us a restaurant. Bearing in mind it was nearly 2100 on valentines day we were not expecting success, but he found us the perfect place. The room was very spacious and location is great with a two minute walk to shops, restaurants, the metro and about five minutes from the arc de triumph. Great value for money and will definitely revisit!

Great hotel ! 10min walking distance from Champs Elysees and close to the Arc de Triomphe. Parking in nearby public garage (€36,- per day though) or on the streets which is free on Sundays. Nice and clean room. And since it is not common in hotels; free and fast wifi ! Good value for money so I would stay again

these friendly folks let us check in early after our arrival on the eurostar friday am and let us stow our gear after check out on saturday before we got on the eurostar for our trip back to london.
the room was small but for 3 people it was good.. the shower was nice. the room and hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. it is a bit of a hike from the closest metro and with 12 streets meeting at the metro took a bit of walking to find the right street. would be quite useful if they would provide a walking map to the closest metro station. i would be happy to re-book a room this close to the champs elysees and the many neighborhood shops and many places to eat . kudo's to the staff for being so kind and helpful. and the best part.. we were on the 5th floor with a balcony window and could see the top 1/3 of the eiffel tower from our balcony. was quite exciting for my son and grandson who had never been to paris before. always ask if you too can have a room with a view..

Room Tip: ask for a room on the side facing the eiffel tower on the 5th floor.

I stayed for three nights at the Best Western Star Champs Elysées. I have to admit, this hotel was not my choice as this was a business/seminar trip but I could not have been happier with my stay.

The hotel is situated on a small street behind the L'Arc de Triomphe. It is also very close to the Air France stop (just 3-5 minutes walk away). The location, although not grand, provides a good sleep quality as it is away from the bigger streets. You also have a plethora of restaurants and bars around you and the closest metro stop is only 3-5 minutes walk away.

The room was small but cozy and kept spotless by the cleaning service. The bed (which is usually the gripe for many hotels around the world) was firm but comfortable and the pillows and duvets were soft and fluffy. There's a free wifi that worked without a hitch in the room (but connection would be lost in the downstairs breakfast room).

The front desk service is friendly and effective. It was nice to exchange some pleasantries with the staff and during my whole stay I felt that if I would have had a problem with anything, they would have helped me promptly. I lost my towel (which happened to be white just like the hotel towels) and it was returned to me laundered (the cleaner must have taken it by mistake). Also the check-in and check-out processes were handled very quick. The reason why I couldn't give a full five stars for service is because of the breakfast room service. The tables were not cleaned very quickly and sometimes guests had to wait to get a seat (as did I once and it was just before 8am). Also, the guy working at the breakfast room would speak in a very low voice and only in French which caused some problems with my language skills. The weird thing about this was that everytime I was leaving the breakfast room, he would regain his ability to speak English. This happened each morning. If the breakfast room service had been a bit more fluid, I would have given five stars for service.

The breakfast is served in a downstairs room. The room gets really warm (at least in the spring and summer) so I suggest dressing accordingly. The buffet breakfast is good and you get fresh juice, bread, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, sausages, fruit etc. from a buffet table. You also get tea or coffee upon request (included in the breakfast).

Even though I chose this hotel because it was suggested to me by the seminar arranger and I would probably naver had ended up there on my own, I really liked the place. The best things for me were the location and the sleep quality. I love it when hotels have real duvets and not those blanket+sheet combos. So if these are the things you value, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Since the hotel is on a small quiet street, you don't have to worry about sleep quality when cho...

dear Sir,
many thanks for taking some of your time and looking at the detailed review you have posted it took quiet some of your time to write it . it always does help me to reinforce our policies regarding the level of service we want to achieve when this is so detailed and accurate. .
the new guy at the breakfast service is an English speaking person who might be too shy as he just started 2 weeks ago. the training is still in progress and your review will help my housekeeper to finish the job.
i will also add one more wifi Equipment in the breakfast room to make sure you get your connection at all times in the hotel
thanks for staying with even if you didn't choose the hotel
have a good week end
best regards

Loved this hotel. It was a little difficult to find at first but once we got our bearings, it was in a super location, just a few minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe. Close to Charles de Gaulle Etoille metro station and the aero bus to the airport on Carnot. Sure, the elevator is small, but this is Europe. That's the norm. Don't expect the same type of room that you get in North America. The hotel was very clean and the staff was really helpful. Jean Loup at the front desk was a great help to us. We had a great room and the bathroom was small, again, the norm in Europe, but it was clean, well stocked and suited our purpose. Overall this hotel met all of our needs and I would stay here again. We didn't have the breakfast so I can't comment on it.
