“Lovely comfortable Hotel with Superb friendly Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2010

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here 15th-18th June. We stayed in the 'Blue room' with a balcony which has Eiffel tower view (top half of the tower). The room was a very good size and the bathroom gorgeous. Bed very comfortable. Also was a great advantage to have tea/coffee making facilities.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Isabelle and Chedi are really nice and always available to give you a map/ directions / retstaurant recommendations. It was lovely to have very courteous staff that are very interested in their guests. On the day of check out Isabelle and Chedi offered us to leave our luggage the whole day (until 6pm) without any charge which was a big help.

The hotel is approx 10-15 mins walk from the metro however easy walking distance to Arc de Triomphe. Also recommend a Fixed price dinner (38 Euro for 3 courses + Wine and coffee) at Bistro Saint Ferdinand.

Really impressed with hotel as it has a great homely, welcoming feel and such friendly staff. Would recommend to any Paris visitor.

just retuned from 7 nights at "residence foch", it,s all been said before, butonce again; a really nice small hotel with a great staff. many thanks to Nelly, Isabelle,& all the others that were only too ready to help with advice & suggestions. only criticism is that its a bit far out from the center. but again not that bad.

A short walk from either Porte Maillot or Avenue Foch metro, Residence Foch is a quaint little hotel with lots of charm. The Bois De Bolougne is a short walk away, with a small play park suitable for the under 6's right on Ave des Admiral Bruix. The Jardin D'Acclimatation is close by and provides many happy hours for children. It is easy to walk to the Metro to travel to the major sights, and it is a lovely hotel to come home to at night. Our family was made to feel very welcome and we will return again in the future. Merci beaucoup to Nelly and her staff.

Pros: extremely friendly staff, clean rooms, OK size for Parisian standards, large bathroom, free wifi
Cons: not best location for sightseeing, breakfast is not included and expensive, some noise at night from street and corridor. Nearest decent bakery is a 10 min walk away

Other: situated halfway between Porte Dauphine and Porte Maillot metro stations, about 10 mins walk to either one. Air France bus line 2 also stops at Porte Maillot if you're going to/from the airport. Closest major site is the Arc de Triomphe / Champs Elysees, other sites will require a metro ride.

Overall OK hotel but might not recommend to friends only because of the location. Probably good for a business hotel as there seems to be a trade or convention centre of some sort in Porte Maillot

This was our fifth trip to Paris, and for a number of reasons we wanted to stay in the 16e. Based upon the reviews of many Trip Advisor reviewers, we chose the Hotel Residence Foch. We were rewarded with a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, we knew the service was going to be outstanding. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Our room, number 61, was large by Paris standards and had a small balcony. The bed was quite comfortable and housekeeping was very efficient. The bathroom was small but had a bath/shower combo with a glass curtain to keep water from being sprayed all over the bathroom. Each floor had its own wifi signal. Even though we were on the sixth floor, the fifth floor signal came in the strongest to my iPod. There is a small elevator that stops between the fifth and sixth floors, with an easy ten step climb to the landing for our room. The hotel is very nice but it's the staff that makes it outstanding. Nelly and her staff, especially Chedi and Isabelle made our stay so wonderful. Chedi was very helpful with dining reservations and transportation advice and always had a cheerful "bonjour" at our coming and going. Nelly is the heart of the hotel. She takes a personal interest in each one of her guests and would feel personally responsible if any of them had a bad experience. My wife had a minor medical problem and had to stay in the room two of the days we were there. Nelly personally delivered tea to the room with her kind best wishes. The neighborhood is very safe, probably not coincidentally because the German Embassy is at the end of the block. There are many restaurants nearby, including a small Chinese/Thai restaurant, Italian (Del Papa), Chez George, Saint Ferdinand, Le Congres and others Chedi recommended that we didn't have a chance to try. Also nearby is a small market, a patisserie, fromagerie and boulangerie. If you need a bank, there is a BNP Paribas several blocks away. Transportation is also close by; the bus is 2-3 blocks away and the Metro 8 or so blocks. We easily walked to Roland Garros, the Marmottan, the Champs Elysees and Bois de Bologne. We spent a wonderful nine nights here and I thank all Trip Advisors who recommended this hotel to us. If you need to stay in the heart of Paris, this hotel will be a little far out for you, although the number 1 Metro line is close by and stops at or near many of the most popular attractions. However, if you are willing to sacrifice being in the middle of everything for a quiet, safe neighborhood and a very comfortable hotel with the best service you'll find in Paris at a very reasonable price, by all means stay at the Hotel Residence Foch!!!

The hotel is located 5 minutes from the main line of Metro, in a quite & safe neighbourhood. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The rooms are very clean, well decorated and well maintained, even though a bit small. We had a very pleasant stay and we recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

We came to this hotel four years ago for our 40th anniversary, this on the advice of a UK newspaper article, the recomendation was spot on & we had a wonderful stay in February, Our return this May 2010 with friends, primerily for the Heinekin Cup rugby final, did not disapoint us or our travelling companions. We had a wonderful time, Nelly & her staff as always so welcoming, & going back again was just like seeing old friends.Nelly informed me the hotel is to be refurbished , hopefully next year, but as it is now, still a lovely & safe place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them & the location for us is superb. We will re visit again in the near future, most likely with our grandaughter for a Euro Disney visit.Once you find a gem of a hotel, I feel it pays to keep with it..
