We stayed at des Balcons for two nights in July 2014 and had one quadriduple room for four and another superior room for two persons. We requested an upper floor and noted the hotel of our early arrival in advance. At arrival well before 11 am, adjacent rooms in the highest floor were ready for us! The service was extremely friendly and helpful. The lobby was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean as were the rooms. For a hotel in Paris, the rooms were spacious and had all the basic amenities. There were nice paintings, beautiful furniture with the hotel name carving, etc. The quadriduple room had a separate bathroom and toilet while the superior room had one larger bathroom/toilet with window giving natural light. The balconies (two in the quadriduple room and one in the superior room) were facing the street and the Odeon theatre. The street was quiet and you were able to keep the doors open during the night time as well. When leaving the hotel, we were able to have a later check-out without any additional fee.

The main reason for us to select this hotel was the location: a couple of blocks to the Odeon metro station and cafes, and a short walking distance to the latin quarter with dozens of inexpensive good quality restaurants.

This hotel was a really positive experience, most importantly due to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I’d highly recommend this hotel which really does not have any cons (bearing in mind that it does not have an AC).

Room Tip: The quadriduple room is good for families with small children. Please note, that the elevator is extremely small, so there is no possibility to use it with e.g. strollers.

This is a perfect little hotel in the heart of the "Latin Quarter". In walking distance to dozens of food places, cafes, bars, etc., and also many of Paris' wonderful tourist attractions, It is right next to the Sorbonne -- the leading university and academic research centers of the world. You can't beat the location. I was there attending a technical conference for 5 days. My stay was pleasant, and the all the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok, but very very limited if you are vegetarian as I am. So that wasn't worth it. I had a single room, which was tiny. The smallest room I've ever stayed in, but it was livable for one person. Excellent bathroom even though it was tiny. Its a "wet bathroom" - no separation of the shower area from the rest except of a curtain. Done so to conserve on space.

The closet space, even for one person, was not adequate (It a single column about a foot deep, with the door removed, and 5 plastic hangers. Not enough for 5 day stay. Other than that, this was an excellent place to stay. The location is unbeatable, and the staff were outstanding.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard in the back. It was nice, but I don't have a feel for the other rooms.

This was our second stay(this time with friends) and again we enjoyed the hotel. Our rooms were on the first and third floors overlooking the street, both had small balconies. It is lovely to open the windows to let the breeze in in the evening. The rooms although on the small side, are very clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very nice quiet location, close to Jardin du Luxumbourg, Notre Dame and the Louvre. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and lots of little lane ways to wander down and get lost in.

This small but conveniently located hotel is a must for those who want to be in the 5th and close to metro and other sights. The staff were very pleasant and the room was well appointed. The price of the breakfast was a bit steep but adequate. Would book here again.

Room Tip: We were on the fifth floor overlooking the street and it was very quiet

We stayed 3 nights and were very happy with this pleasant small hotel. We had a small but well appointed first floor room with a little balcony overlooking a fairly quiet street. Excellent location close to Odeon Theatre and Jardin du Luxembourg. Friendly, helpful reception staff, who recommended an excellent restaurant nearby. Good breakfasts, including some hot food. Would certainly use again.
