“A pearl in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Booked this hotel for its location, not disappointed. Ideal for metro and Parisian nightlife. The hotel was excellent with a beautiful bedroom with air conditioning and smart bathroom with excellent shower and great fast hair dryer .

Room Tip: Room 52, roomy and quiet, courtyard view, good A/C.

After a long tiring trip we finally arrived at La Perle to be greeted warmly by Lydia. A welcomed cup of coffee while we waited for our room to be ready( we were very early)..Our room was lovely, with great decor, a good bathroom, a wall safe, enough room for two. The breakfast area was lovely and the breakfast good value with alot of choice. This hotel is situated in a lovely part of Paris, close to so many must see buildings, nearby fabulous restaurants, the oldest church in Paris, interesting shops, close to 2 Metro stations. We loved our stay here, a really friendly, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, looking onto a courtyard. At night the street comes alive with music and happy people. A wonderful atmaosphere. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed at the back, looking onto a courtyard, very quiet. Rooms at the front could be noisy.

My wife and I added a 3 day visit to Paris onto the end of our 5 week holiday to UK and Ireland in July 2014 and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. What a lovely surprise when we arrived at Hotel la Perle in St Germain. We were greeted with a friendly smile and made most welcome by the reception staff. This set the tone for a truly wonderful visit to Paris. We also noted the friendly attitude of the staff person on duty at breakfast time also. The goodbye at the end of our visit was equally nice to receive.

The bedroom was very lovely – we loved the exposed timber ceilings and the lovely purple curtains and artwork around the walls. Yes it was on the smallish side but it was more than adequate for our needs. The bathroom had good facilities – we loved the marble sink bench. The magnified shaving mirror provided, was appreciated and the shower was easy to negotiate.

A real feature of the hotel is the courtyard at the back with its lovely garden feature where breakfast is served. The continental breakfast at € 13 per person was very comprehensive – a real feature, much appreciated, was the self service egg boiling machine with egg timers which allowed eggs to be included with the continental breakfast on offer. There was a good range of items to eat for this breakfast including cold meats and cheeses. They also made good coffee – sadly, many hotels make it too strong such that it is not enjoyable to drink.

Location was superb in the heart of St Germain. Rue des Canettes where the hotel is located is a very quaint street and quite delightful with its array of shops and interesting cafes and restaurants. We really enjoyed the visit to la creperie des Canettes, almost next door to the hotel – a very unique experience dining there.

An added feature is the close proximity to the excellent Luxembourg Gardens and St Sulpice Church – there is so much to see and do in St Germain.

The closeness to the St Germain des Pres metro station, about 5 minutes walk, also impressed. St Germain des Pres can also be reached direct from Gare de Nord, where the Eurostar terminates, on Metro line 4 – avoiding the need to transfer metro lines when accompanied by heavy luggage.

We are really pleased we chose La Perle from the many hotels on offer on the internet for our visit to Paris. The hotel delivered on all counts – we were not disappointed.

It was so nice to have three days at a hotel where all the staff displayed very good attitudes to the hotel clients – It does make a huge difference.

We stayed at La Perle for 4 nights last week and loved it! Staff were extremely helpful, the entire hotel was very clean and comfortable. Loved the breakfast/drinks area - a great way to start the day. I required medical attention when we were at the hotel and the staff were extremely helpful in contacting appropriate medical staff which we really appreciated. The room we stayed in was lovely, not overly large but large enough. Lovely bathroom. The hotel is in an excellent location - many eateries and bars very close to the hotel and it is close to all the main tourist attractions - in fact you can walk to most of them. Alternatively there are 3 metro stations within close walking distance. My husband and I had a great time! Thanks

We stayed at Hotel La Perle for a week in May. We found the hotel to be an excellent place to stay. The front desk staff (especially Lidia) were very good with assistance of anything we needed, from store locations for sundries to recommendations for dinner.
The hotel is located on what would appear to be a quiet street, but, come dinner time, the streets are alive with people out walking and going to dinner. There are some amazing restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel is located very close to both bus routes and the Paris Metro (subway).
Another nice thing is that if you are a walker, then the Louvre, Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapell, Musee D'Orsay, are all a nice walk.
We are looking forward to our next trip to Paris.

Room Tip: Pick a room overlooking the courtyard.

This was our second visit to Hotel La Perle. The location could not be any better. We had a courtyard room like we did last time. You can not hear any of the noise from the night life on the street from those rooms. The female staff are supreme!!! We had already checked out and went to catch a train. We found out that they had cancelled our train due to a strike in Belgium, so we rebooked for next day. When we called the Hotel back to see if we could get our room back the one we had was not available but a higher price one was and they would give us a break since we had already been there. In the long run we ended up booking a flight for that night rather than spending another night. The young lady on duty helped us with the computer and printed out our tickets for us. She could not have been any more helpful considering we weren't even staying there another night. Yet she was. Once our flight was booked and we had hours to kill before our flight she locked up our luggage so we could go and see some more of Paris. This young lady deserves a raise!! :)

Room Tip: Rooms on the courtyard are quieter.

La Perle is in an excellent part of Paris - very close to St Germain des Pres and surrounded by small shops and lovely restaurants and cafes. The staff are excellent and make you feel most welcome. We have stayed several times now and have found it ideal for a stay of a week or more.
The breakfast area is very attractive - and tea, coffee and drinks are served there as well. The rooms are not large but are available in various sizes, with comfortable beds, and good shower/bath facilities. Those rooms facing the inner courtyard are quieter. Metro access is nearby. Ideal for visiting Paris' well known museums and galleries. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Superior and executive rooms have more space. Those facing on to the courtyard are quieter.
