“Wonderful Stay in Hotel Murat.”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

The scene and style of the hotel looked like something out of the film Amelie. It was perfect for the romantic stay I had intended for my Partner. The decor to be honest was a little worn in places, the staff however were excellent, polite and very helpful and made our stay and poor French very easy. The breakfast was a tad lacking if you are expecting something like a full english as we were. As it is the continent, then it is only fitting that you receive something that reflects that, so no complaints here. The front desk is always manned, the hotel is 2 minutes from the nearest metro. There is a well equipped supermarket across the street and a drinks machine in the lobby that sells cans for 2€. The wifi works well and is a great place to base yourself to stay in one of the most wonderful cities in Europe.

Stayed for 3 nights for my 1st wedding anniversary. Excellent base to go see paris with the metro just 2mins away and just 1.7 euros to go anywhere across paris. Room was nice and clean if a little noisy with other weekenders going out early and returning late. Receptionists cant do enough and speak excellent english. 1 down side was the breakfast. 1 croissant each and half a baguette with cheese ham or boiled egg. 2 choices of cereal. That was it. We left before 7 on our last day and so missed out on a breakfast we'd paid for. Overall stay here was a good price and good base but make sure you don't mind a poor breaky.

Do not hear previous messages informing bad things about Hotel Murat. I Stay last week with full satisfaction. With that cheaper price than average hotels in arrodsement 16, you can get better room rather than staying in a hostel or private apartment in term of privacy. You can go to anywhere just open the dor of hotel as there is a bust stop in front of hotel and a metro station behind just walking 2 minutes. The receptionist can speak english well and helpful. They call me in the morning to wake me up as I must rushing to the airport eventhough I didn't ask a morning call before. They were all fully caring when I was too deeply aslept.

Room Tip: Need to change the carpet in the aisle.

A very average hotel located in the SW of Paris. We went in a very hot week in July and as others have mentioned not AirCon - so you have to decide on open windows and the noise from the street outside or swelter with closed windows! As other have mentioned carpets could do with replacing - my room was small but clean. Breakfast was included as part of our price and was not bad (plus you could sort of help yourself). Although the hotel was very average the staff were very helpful and courteous. It is not the end of the world if you stay here (I have stayed in far worse!)

This is a good budget hotel... 1 minute from the metro station on M9 which is like 20/25 mins from Eiffel Tower... I had a double room, nice view outside the window, good breakfast... couldn't really ask for more as I am not the person who make fuss out of small things... this hotel was near-perfect for me and I would definitely go back...

Is the location safe? - Yes... I travelled from central Paris back to the hotel via metro every eve at around 11 PM reaching hotel around 11:30/midnight and this place would be fairly lively because of McDonalds, cafes and a hugh round-about that always has traffic...Metro always had enough people so you always feel safe...

Again, I am was travelling alone so always felt in control ... if you are travelling with kids, I would always recommend central Paris because there would be less travelling involved...

Thanks!

P.S. I have uploaded some pictures... buy the way I had this room for 50 GBP / night...

Really poor hotel. Not the staff's fault who were very helpful but only in Paris would the hotel survive.
Rooms were sweltering with no air con. Lift very small. Carpets in all areas need replacing. Breakfast very basic and at 10am everything was being cleared away. Good location and restaurants nearby but the hotel shouldn't get credit for that.

Room Tip: "stay somewhere else!"

My partner & I chose this hotel for a weekend break. It was just what we wanted, room was clean, tidy and the breakfast was really nice. The location was great, a 5 minute walk to the metro where you could access the rest of Paris. Had a lovely, romantic weekend break & this hotel made it even better!!
