I chose Hotel de Seine for the location - we were able to walk to all over Paris from the hotel. You step out the doors and there are restaurants galore. The staff is remarkable. They handled a room request promptly and with a smile. This hotel goes above and beyond and are well deserving of a 5 star rating!!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are much quieter.

My wife, a friend, and I just returned from Paris and a five-night stay at Hotel de Seine. The hotel is very well-situated, close to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the metro, and smack in the middle of the vibrant of the left bank. The staff, especially Audrey, was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quite quaint. All this at a very excellent value (by comparison to other hotels in the district). On your next trip to Paris, give them a try!

This was my 29th visit to Paris, but the first time I stayed here (although I normally stay in the Latin Quarter). I'm glad I tried the hotel which I had so often passed before since rue Jacob is a great place to window-shop. Had a room up on the fifth floor with a great street view and balcony. The room was actually quiet at night and in the early morning hours -- and I am a very light sleeper. None of those blaring sirens one hears all the time on Blvd St Germain nearby.

Despite the winter, I turned the heater down and cracked the windows open during the night. Love the towel heating rack in the bathroom. My only concern -- the lighting in the bedroom was somewhat low which made it a little hard to read at night.

Neighborhood is one of the best in Paris -- the rue de Buci area is lively even in the winter time, but especially during the warmer months when the street performers come out. The Paul bakery nearby obviates the need to eat breakfast in the hotel, and "artisan boulanger" Eric Kayser is not too far either. Both offer phenomenal pastries and breads. The restaurant "Fish le boissonerie" on the other side of the street a few doors down offers wonderful French food (not just fish!) and wines, and the staff are not just English-speaking, in most cases they are actually from Britain, so English is welcome here and the service is wonderful. Across the street from Fish le boissonerie is renowned sandwich shop Cosi with some of the best bread you will find in France -- a delicious fougasse-type, that has people lining up outside during the lunch hour. If you want another incredible dining experience, head to Le Comptoir just around the corner from the Odeon station -- but get there early as the lines form quickly once the seating is all gone (they dont take reservations).

Closest metro station is Odeon but one can get off at St Michel if you're coming from the airport and ride in on the RER train. Head down rue St Andre, another of my favorite streets in the Latin Quarter, which leads to rue de Buci, just around the corner from the hotel.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful in every respect (whether answering questions about museum hours, or taxis). Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

Room Tip: I had a room on the street but higher up so noise wasnt a problem. I saw the inner courtyard which i...

A charming and tastefully furnished (with the exception of odd and diminutive "art" over the bed) little hotel in a good location with a lot of bars and restaurants around the corner. Grocery store up the street (where you can shop for breakfast if you don't want to pay 10 € for coffee, jam and bread at the hotel, you can also borrow an electric kettle for your coffee or tea). Several Metro stations nearby. Walking distance to a lot of interesting places in the area and to the Louvre and other places of interest on the other side of the Seine. Small rooms but not in miniature. But perhaps a big chest of drawers and a rather big writing side by side in small room is really one piece to many. Maybe a small armchair instead of writing desk could do the trick? Seems like no hotel owner och decorator do what some of us still do: we read books and for that purpose we need good reading lamps! Friendly and helpful staff. Nice lounge with comfortable sofas and a computer. Free wifi.

Situated nerby everything of interest (at least for us...) and accessibility, via the metro, to everywhere you wish - ideal place to stay. Small, charming hotel with terribly friendly staff. Surrounded by nice restaurants, brasseries and coffee shops as well as nice galleries. Within walking distance of interesting museums. Something that has to be improved though - no room service as such after normal working hours. Also, just remember, if you are in need of shower caps, you'll better bring them along with you since they don't keep them and probably dont believe in them either... :-)
On the whole it is a nice hotel to return to.

Room Tip: The higher the better - and also ask for the biggest available room since on the whole the rooms are...

Dear Leo A,

Thank you very much for giving your opinion.
Saint-Germain des Près is a very nice and central location, you made a good choice for a visit of Paris.
We took note of your remarks, and it will help us to improve our offer.
As there is only one person at reception, we do not propose room service, however, do not hesitate to come at the desk and ask for something. It is always a pleasure to satisfy our guests.

We do hope to welcome you back soon.

Sincerely Yours,

What a charming hotel. Yes ,the rooms are small but this is Paris and all rooms here are small. The bed is comfortable , the room is immaculate and it's sooo charming. Cloth on the walls, a sweet little balcony overlooking a street scene like on a postcard. The location is fabulous with many sights within walking distance and restaurants to die for right next door. Also easy walking distance to metro and train to the airport. Perfect ,I'll be back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor have balconies

Dear Gr_Annie050505,

Thank you very much for your kind comment.
We were all glad to see that you enjoyed your stay with us. Paris is a very nice city but an old one. The age of buildings explains size of rooms and bathrooms.

It will be a pleasure to welcome you back to Hotel De Seine.
