“Perfect Intimate Parisian Hotel and Location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

I spent many hours on the Internet trying to find the perfect hotel. We were looking for an intimate, small, authentic Parisian - centrally located hotel. I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice. The prime location, which meant we only had a very short walk to almost everything we came to see, such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Seine, La Marias region, Luxemburg Gardens, and the Latin Quarter. And we were in the very heart of St. Germain. If you are a great walker you could even walk to the Eiffel Tower. We chose to take a short taxi ride there. There were wonderful restaurants everywhere. I would say the heart of the Hotel De Seine is its wonderful staff, especially the always friendly and much appreciated English speaking Audrey and Tristian who were always ready to assist us in any way possible. We had a lovely room overlooking the street below, where in the evenings we could people watch from our windows. I was afraid that since the people in Paris seem to stay up quite late, I would have trouble with the noise. Once the windows were closed, we never heard any noise in our room, both from the street below and from inside this lovely small hotel. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for the same things we wanted to look no further. This is the perfect place to stay!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the view of the street below.

Dear June M,

We would like to thank you for sharing your opinion about your stay with us.

Tristan and Audrey were happy to discover your kind comment. We do love our district, so we enjoyed reading the nice words you used to describe Saint-Germain des Près. It is a good choice for a visit of Paris, as you can walk to many attractive places (Orsay Museum, Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden,...), even Eiffel Tower!

We will be pleased to welcome you back soon, maybe this summer, to enjoy a quiet Paris...

Sincerely Yours,

I stayed at the Hotel De Seine for four nights this past week and was extremely pleased. The hotel is located in what I consider the best and most charming area in Paris, right at the corner of the very interesting Rue Jacob and Rue De Seine. The location cannot be beat for access to almost everything Paris has to offer. While close to the bustling cafes in St. germain it is quiet when the windows are closed. My double room at the front of the hotel on the third floor was a very good size for Paris standards and it obviously had been recently renovated and was bright and cheerful with the curtains open. It was also very clean.

I have been to Paris many times and prefer this area. When the hotel I normally stay in was full, I chose the Hotel De Seine based on the location just down the street and the reviews. I am very particular about hotels and I thought it was an excellent value for the time of year. I feel fortunate to have found it and will definitely book it again. Thanks also to the helpful staff at the front desk and the cheerful man who greeted me in the breakfast room every morning. I happily recommend this little hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are bright with good views but quiet when the windows are closed.

Thank you very much for your kind comment.
And what a pleasure to read that you enjoyed so much Saint-Germain des Près. It is a wonderful district, full of cafés and shops, and a central location. You can easily walk to the Seine river, Louvre Museum, Latin Quarter or even Luxembourg Garden.
The whole staff were glad to see that you liked your room and we will be pleased to welcome you back soon for a new Parisian trip...

Once again we had the opportunity to stay four nights at charming Hotel de Seine. A small and very personal hotel with excellent service. The staff really makes you feel welcome to Paris and speaks good English and keep the hotel spotless. The hotel is located in the middle of St Germain (and still quiet) surrounded by excellent restaurants and walking distance to Notre Dame, Pantheon, the Luxemboug Garden and the metro. Hotel de Seine is a Place to return to, over and over again. Don't miss restaurant Fish across the street, excellent kitchen or Brasserie Vageanade on Bvd St. Germain.

Dear Lena K,

Thank you for taking time to write a comment about your stay.
We are so pleased to read that you enjoyed staying at Hotel De Seine. The rue de Seine is a very good location. You can walk to the Institut de France and the Louvre Museum, and of course the Musée du Luxembourg. Rue de buci and rue saint-andré des arts are very nice streets too.

The whole staff will be glad to welcome you back to Hotel De Seine.

I chose Hotel de Seine for the location - we were able to walk to all over Paris from the hotel. You step out the doors and there are restaurants galore. The staff is remarkable. They handled a room request promptly and with a smile. This hotel goes above and beyond and are well deserving of a 5 star rating!!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are much quieter.

My wife, a friend, and I just returned from Paris and a five-night stay at Hotel de Seine. The hotel is very well-situated, close to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the metro, and smack in the middle of the vibrant of the left bank. The staff, especially Audrey, was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quite quaint. All this at a very excellent value (by comparison to other hotels in the district). On your next trip to Paris, give them a try!

This was my 29th visit to Paris, but the first time I stayed here (although I normally stay in the Latin Quarter). I'm glad I tried the hotel which I had so often passed before since rue Jacob is a great place to window-shop. Had a room up on the fifth floor with a great street view and balcony. The room was actually quiet at night and in the early morning hours -- and I am a very light sleeper. None of those blaring sirens one hears all the time on Blvd St Germain nearby.

Despite the winter, I turned the heater down and cracked the windows open during the night. Love the towel heating rack in the bathroom. My only concern -- the lighting in the bedroom was somewhat low which made it a little hard to read at night.

Neighborhood is one of the best in Paris -- the rue de Buci area is lively even in the winter time, but especially during the warmer months when the street performers come out. The Paul bakery nearby obviates the need to eat breakfast in the hotel, and "artisan boulanger" Eric Kayser is not too far either. Both offer phenomenal pastries and breads. The restaurant "Fish le boissonerie" on the other side of the street a few doors down offers wonderful French food (not just fish!) and wines, and the staff are not just English-speaking, in most cases they are actually from Britain, so English is welcome here and the service is wonderful. Across the street from Fish le boissonerie is renowned sandwich shop Cosi with some of the best bread you will find in France -- a delicious fougasse-type, that has people lining up outside during the lunch hour. If you want another incredible dining experience, head to Le Comptoir just around the corner from the Odeon station -- but get there early as the lines form quickly once the seating is all gone (they dont take reservations).

Closest metro station is Odeon but one can get off at St Michel if you're coming from the airport and ride in on the RER train. Head down rue St Andre, another of my favorite streets in the Latin Quarter, which leads to rue de Buci, just around the corner from the hotel.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful in every respect (whether answering questions about museum hours, or taxis). Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

Room Tip: I had a room on the street but higher up so noise wasnt a problem. I saw the inner courtyard which i...
