“Great find!”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

We chose this hotel due to the price but were so happy to find this hotel was clean, comfortable and an excellent location. We had a large number of restaurants, bars, shops and train entrances within a short walk and could easily access a large number of sites.

Room Tip: We stayed in their largest room (room 12) that had 1 queen and 1 double bed and it worked great to s...

This is a lovely historic hotel dating back to the three musketeers.I have stayed there on 4 occasions for the last 25 years. Great service and clean rooms and a lovely breakfast . It may be a problem for some as the stairs are steep and it is 99 steps to the top floor, non the less I have never been disappointed when I have stayed there. It is the heart of the Latin quarter near many good restaurants, shopping and sites.Easy access to any site you may want to see.

Room Tip: Ask for a lower floor if you have problems with to many stairs.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and could not have stayed at a better location. It is situated close to everything: metro stations, oodles of great restaurants, the Seine and many sights that are within easy walking distance such as Notre Dame and The Louvre. It is very close to the St Michel metro station which allows for direct access to the RER train which will transport you to and from Charles de Gaulle airport (a 40 min trip from St Michel at a cost of about 9 euros). No need to get a taxi or bus, etc. The hotel also represents value for money. I stayed in a double for the amazing price of 105 euros a night. Yes, it is no frills, but it is clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were so busy enjoying the delights of Paris that we spent very little time in our room anyway. I would definitely stay here again because of the location and great value.

Location and price of this hotel cannot be beaten in Paris. Close to two metro stops, walking distance to most of the sights (we had a view of the Notre Dame from our large bedroom on the top floor) and on a great street full of restaurants and bars.

Will stay here again.

This small friendly hotel will easily cater to the needs of different types of travellers. In my case, I stayed here for four nights, with a group of 9 teens at the end of July, and they all liked the hotel. My room was n° 9 on the first floor and it had a great bathroom, which seemed recently refurbished. As my window overlooked the back of the hotel, at night it was very quiet. Some of my students´ rooms overlooked the street to the front, so they found it to be a bit noisy at night, but anyway they all slept well after long days of walking through Paris. All beds were very comfortable, even the small makeshift ones, and rooms were kept very clean. Breakfast was OK with delicious French bread, jam, butter, honey and your choice of coffee, chocolate milk or tea. Served from 7 to 10am.
The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. Mark even printed out our 10 boarding passes on the day of our departure! Frederick helped with our transfer. They spoke several languages, so it was easy to communicate, and they were willing too! Thanks!
As for location, it can´t be beat; right in the center of St Germain, within a few blocks of Notre Dame, the Cluny Museum, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens.... we even walked to and from the Louvre and the Marais. Just by crossing through the lovely Cour du Commerce passage opposite the hotel, you reach Boulevard St Germain and the Odeon metro stop; and St Michel metro is but 400 metres away. You´ll also find a myriad of little bars and restaurants on Buci, just a block away. Wouldn´t doubt to stay here again!

Great location, close to restaurants, two subway stations and many of the sights are walking distance. Very helpful staff, clean, well priced, double glazed windows keep street facing room quiet. Breakfast simple but good. A simple hotel that is good value for money.

Positives: Emails responded to quickly. Location-perfect, located between Odeon and St Michel metro stops, within walking distance to Notre Dame, Pantheon, Louvre. Directions to hotel were spot on, no difficulties. Price-could not find better in central Paris. Breakfast simple but good, coffee and fresh bread with jam and butter. Rooms decent size.
Negatives: No lift. Bathrooms very very small, showers made for tiny people. Rooms aged and worn. Poorly operational wifi. Lots of street noise at night into wee hours. I can live with these negatives. The one I cannot is that one of our 2 rooms had bugs. All over both beds lots of little black bugs. We told reception. She wiped them off bed and told us they had no other room. We tried to find another hotel but had no luck, already close to midnight, had no internet, and all hotels close by booked. When we returned to hotel unsure of what we were going to do-travling with children and needing 2 rooms we were told that they did have another one for us after all. Decided to take it and deal with it in am. New room was fine along with our other first room. In am we decided that we would just stay. We had limited time in Paris and did not want to spend it hotel hunting. We asked to keep new room and were told no, already booked for next evening. We were told they would spray our original room and we could have it back. My response was absolutely not, under no circumstances. At the end of the day, we returned to yet another room, at least without bugs
In the end, everything worked out. The cavalier attitude towards bugs was a little disturbing. Aside from that, hotel perfect for what it is
