Tang Freres is like many good, solid Asian markets world wide, with that edgy familiar ambiance. On the chaotic side of junky. Like most all Chinese stores I've loved worldwide. It has a familiarity and consistency I personally welcome. A great find for those special Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese ingredients: bottled, pickled, jugged, jarred, canned, packaged, fresh, frozen, and dried. It has been described as huge. While I didn't find it huge in comparison to similar Asian markets worldwide, it has everything one needs or wants. Fresh fish (especially salmon) and meats (pork, chicken, beef, tripe) are more than half the price of regular Parisian markets, making the trek to Porte d'Ivry worth a metro or bus ticket. Fresh fruit and veg need careful inspection as the produce is variable in freshness and quality. A worthy and worthwhile find all around in pricey Paris.
