“Will try another hotel next time”

Nice location - about 10 mins walk to Eiffel, eating places nearby, near to Metro and Air France shuttle bus stop. This is the only saving grace though reception staff were quite helpful too.
Negatives - can hear noises outside room, no life, hot shower water patchy most of the times, WIFI down during our whole stay.
conclusion: if ever to come back to Paris, would like to try another hotel instead.. though if you are on a budget and doesn;t mind the negatives, you can give it a try.

Basic room with new en suite. Great price compared to others around. Really nice hotel staff.

Great location. Close to all sights, you can hop on the metro or walk. We spent the day sight seeing, walking from the hotel to Eiffel Tower, crossing the river to champs de eleysé and seeing the Arc de Triomph, then walking up the river to Notre Dame.

Lovely restaurant and patisseries around, which are slightly cheaper down side streets.

Room Tip: We stayed on the fourth floor at the back as the staff offered us a choice. Recommend as it was a qu...

I stayed only for a night but found very convenient as it was only 10 min walk from Eifel and 5 min walk from Metro

although the room was very tiny, but who cares for size on that cost.

one drawback if you have more luggage, there is no lift and stairs are quite dangerous....

rest was fine

I have just returned from 3 nights in Paris staying at the Hotel Amelie. Me and my boyfriend had read some mixed reviews so we were not sure what to expect. However this hotel did exactly what it said on the tin. It is a 2 star hotel so unless you really do expect a lot more then do not stay here and find somewhere else because this hotel does not pretend to be anything more than it is. What it does offer in my opinion cannot be argued with. Our room was small yes, but clean, comfortable and had a safe to store our bits in. The room was cleaned everyday and the hotel offered free wifi and a small breakfast for 9 euros. It is also a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding area has lots of small shops and cafes to explore. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful with any questions we had. All in all-this is a hotel that we will use again!

Room Tip: Just be aware that there is no elevator. If this is something you may struggle without then this hot...

This hotel should have scored very high but for the rodents (small rat or big mouse, not entirely sure) in the walls and in my luggage. I probably would not have written a review but for the complete lack of concern when I explained (en francais) the problem to the young man at the reception the next morning. It seems this must be a very common complaint.
The day before I had been extremely happy with the location and the lady at the reception who was very attentive. The quartier was quiet and very safe.
However, I was awakened at 2h30 in the morning by the sound of a rodent in my luggage (no, there was not any food in there). I finally managed to get it out but continued to hear rodents in the walls and in the wall behind my headboard until about 5 or 6 am.
So, to make a long sleepless night story short, if you don't like rodents in your hotel room, you may wish to reconsider staying here.

Stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for almost a week. Overall, the hotel was ok - room and bathroom were both small but that's the way it is in Paris, plus we only needed the room to hold our things and sleep so no biggie. It's really close to the Eiffel Tower and lots of places to eat nearby.

My big issue was two days before we were to check out, the guy at the desk told us it was time to settle the bill because he sometimes had issues with his credit card machine. Sure enough, the machine didn't work and we tried it a few times. The next day, same thing. We were told that we would have to withdraw cash from the nearest ATM in order to pay for the room. The irritating parts of that were: the credit card machine not working was not our problem but it sure wound up being our issue to sort out; we could only withdraw a certain amount from the ATM/day so had to take out cash on 2 separate days in order to settle the bill (what if a 3rd day was needed for a longer stay??); were charged ATM fees that of course, weren't reimbursable by the hotel. So, to sum it up, Hotel Amelie willingly took a card via the internet to hold the room but then we had to jump through hoops to actually use the same card to pay and they had Visa/MasterCard signs all over the place.

Room Tip: All rooms near the staircase (i.e. noisy) so just try to stay near the bottom floor as there's n...

We stayed in this hotel back in the summer for several nights, it has a very good location, a 10 minute walk from the Tour Eiffel. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, but the hotel itself is very dirty and run down.
There are other hotels in the vicinity, so I would try some of those instead.
If management really paid attention to the basics it would make a good choice for Paris. Too bad.

Room Tip: I would avoid this property.
