Owner description: Canauxrama offers cruises on the canals of Paris, the Seine and the Marne. Sail on the Saint-Martin Canal and discover the Paris of Parisians passing under the Bastill's vault, four double locks, two swing bridges and the centenary Lift Bridge of Crimea to go to the "Parc de la Villette". For one day cruise, discover the smallest navigable of France canal: The Ourcq, with a unique entertainment: a horse will draw the boat. Or go on the Seine river that inspoired impressionists to Chatou near "la Maison Fournaise" or on the Marne River and its famous Guinguettes!

“Waste of time and money”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

We bought our tickets for Canal St Martin cruise and were waiting for an hour and a half to board, when a tour group arrived, 15 minutes before departure and we were told they would be given access to the boat first. There were about 10 to maybe 15 non tour members who had all been waiting for about an hour and suddenly this group arrives and they get preference. Not acceptable in our opinion. The captain of the boat would not let anyone who wasn't in the group board no matter where we were in the line, he was rude and arrogant. The onboard narration was mostly not understandable. We would listen to several Minutes of French dialogue and then get a few sentences in a very poor English translation, horrible. The cruise went for 2.5 hours, mostly this was spent going through the 4 double locks about 15 mins each. Pretty boring after the first one and if you don't have front row exterior seats you won't see much anyway. The tour group took all the outer front and upper deck seats, which we were told when we questioned the decision to let them on first, that they hadn't. We did a double back of the first part of the trip and the very slowly wound our way to the new Bastille Marina. The interior was often filled with diesel fumes as the boat idled waiting for the locks to open. You will need a hat as inside is mostly a glass roof and gets hot, open the windows let in the fumes. We felt this was a complete waste of the 34 euro spent and the 2.5 hours of boring touring.

“A very pleasant trip away from the regualr tourist beat”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We went on this Ccanauxrama cruise from ear Place de Bastille up to Basin de la Villette on a rainy day and were so pleased with it that we came back on it (although you can come back or get there by Metro or just walking). The informative guide (in French and clear English) was very good and the scenery was intesting, including the Haussman tunnel and the locks. Try to get a seat near the front. You can take a picnic on board and you can buy snacks and drinks on board. I recommend a walk to the Parc des Butte Chaumont not far from the Bassin stop - a striking cliff, lakes, walks. All in all, a great way to see Paris.

“Relaxing cruise on the Seine”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

My cousin and I decided to book this tour instead of the more mainstream tours. We were really glad that we did because there were fewer tourists on this boat, which made it a much more enjoyable experience. The narration was insightful and we could hear everything. Tips: (1) sit on the top for the best views, (2) the house wine on the boat is pretty good and reasonably priced, (3) while the location the boat leaves from is a bit out of the way, we made the best of it and walked through Marais after the river boat tour (Rick Steves' self guided tour).

“Something Different and Interesting”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

I don't think many people know about this tour. Really fun and interesting trip up the canal and through the locks. If possible, sit in the front of the boat so you can see the locks in operation. Be aware that the boat stops quite a ways away from the heart of Paris, but there is a Metro stop out there to get you back.

“Quelles belles vues!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

We spent a cloudy and cool afternoon cruising the canals. The experience of going through locks and watching swinging bridges was great. The commentary was excellent. The young man was informative and his English was clear. I have wanted to do this for a long time and I am so glad I finally found the time!
